The only issue Blaine had with removing all things nerdy from his room was that he had literally nowhere to put them; he could shove them in his closet. But Kurt said he liked fashion, meaning he’d probably want to inspect the closet, and any non-nerd would run far away if they saw a shrine to nerdy things in a closet. He supposed that he could simply ask Kurt if he was into anything remotely nerdy, hell Blaine would be pleased if the boy watched Disney movies on a regular basis. Blaine needed to stop thinking about whether or not Kurt was nerdy and he knew that, why should it matter? He was already attracted to Kurt, and he’d hoped that Kurt was attracted to him to, but if Kurt wasn’t then he probably wouldn’t have agreed to this date. Unless he felt sorry for Blaine, and because he’s friends with Blaine’s sister, he thinks he’s obligated to be nice to him. The only way he was going to find that out was to ask Kurt directly, but he didn’t want to bother him while his sister was almost certainly harassing him about this date. He assumed a text would suffice.
‘Kurt, I’m happy you said yes. Thrilled actually, but you don’t need to go out with me just because you feel sorry for me. Or because you’re my sister’s friend. I don’t want you to think that you’re obligated to be nice to me because of Rachel being my sister. I’d love to be your friend though, if you’re up for that. If not I won’t talk to you anymore. - B’
Kurt stared dumbly at hi cellphone, completely ignoring Rachel as she rambled on and on about how ridiculous it was to date her brother. The thing that Kurt found funny though, was that Rachel didn’t seem to care about the brother part, all she cared about was that Kurt would be dating the completion. Because apparently Blaine was in the show choir at Dalton, Kurt hadn’t even known that.
What the hell did Blaine mean? Did he really think that this was a pity date for Kurt? Why the hell would it matter if he was related to Rachel or not, Kurt didn’t care? He liked Blaine; at least he liked what he knew of the boy, he was seemingly perfect. Gorgeous eyes, beautiful curly hair, a voice that most would kill for, and god his arms--
“OH MY GOD! KURT! FORGET EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT BLAINE” Rachel screamed.
“Well I wasn’t listening to a word you said, so alright, it’s forgotten.” He said stiffly. “Why exactly am I forgetting it all?”
“Because I’ve just realized that if you and Blaine date, that means that someday. YOU’RE GOING TO BE MY BROTHER IN LAW!” She far was too excited for this to be real.
“Well it’s great to know that I have your approval and all Rach, but I was going on the date no matter what you said.”
“Yes I realized that around the time I saw you playing angry birds. Which is why I’ve found at least one good thing about you dating my brother? This is a little weird by the way.” Kurt rolled his eyes at her stupidity.
“Rachel, you are currently dating my step brother? I don’t find it weird in the slightest. Why do you find this weird?”
“Well for starters, you just met him about 2 hours ago. Blaine isn’t my step brother though, he’s my half-brother, and I love you Kurt but if anything goes wrong in this relationship. I’ll have to stick beside my brother, I need to protect him.”
“You’re acting like he’s about 12, newsflash Rachel, he’s our age. He can take care of himself.”
“Fine, I suppose you’re right. But the statement still stands.” She huffed and put in a musical for them to watch.”
While the girls were distracted with the movie, he unlocked his phone and hastily texted Blaine back, for someone who went to a private academy; he sure was a little dense.
Blaine, calm down. Of course I want to go out with you, I wouldn’t have said yes if that wasn’t the case. I don’t care that you’re related to Rachel that tells me absolutely nothing about who you are. I definitely want to be your friend Blaine, but I was kind of hoping that this wasn’t just a friendly outing. If you know what I mean. – K
He hit the send button before he could rethink any of the things he put in the text. Hopefully Blaine got the message loud and clear, Kurt was interested in him, and not as just a friend.
More than just friendly.
Blaine practically squealed in delight, he messaged Kurt back telling him he knew exactly what he meant; he was definitely all for it. He sat patiently waiting to see if Kurt would text him again, his heart soared when he felt his phone vibrate. He picked it up and looked at the screen,
Glad to see we’re on the same page. ;) – K. Alright, this time. Blaine’s reaction was that of a girl in middle school finding out that the boy she liked liked her back. He was jumping up and down on the couch smiling like a fool when Rachel walked in and just stared at him.
“Blaine, what the hell are you doing? And why are you smiling like an idiot. If Dads’ get home and see you doing that they’ll be pissed.”
“I don’t even care Rachel, because KURT LIKES ME!” he all but screamed and continued jumping on the couch.
“Of course he does idiot, I knew this would happen. Why do you think I never let them come around when you’re home? Because I knew you and Kurt would end up dating, I knew that you would end up taking my best friend from me. You just had to ask him on a date didn’t you Blaine. Well thanks a lot, I hope you know that I will never forgive you for this.”
“Because everything is about you right Rachel? Well guess what, I deserve to be happy to. You’re dating Finn, and Kurt is his step-brother. But Kurt doesn’t stand in the way of you two now does he. Nope, didn’t think so. Kurt is a very sweet person, I can already tell her is, and I like him, and apparently. Much to my surprise, he likes me too Rachel, I’m not saying Kurt and I are destined to be together, or that we’ll work out, all I’m saying is that I think he’s worth the chance of heartbreak. I’ve never had a boyfriend Rachel, not one. I’ve never even been kissed by a boy, I finally find someone I’m genuinely interested in and you have to be a cow about it. I personally couldn’t give a shit what you think about this, as long as Kurt doesn’t have a problem listening to you whine, which I don’t think he does because he spends so much time with you, then I don’t see why we shouldn’t date.” By the time he finished his rant he was standing directly in front of Rachel looking down at her with an anger she’d never seen in his eyes before.
“You really think I’m worth chancing everything?” a small voice asked from the doorway.
“Of course I do, I know so much about you because of this drama queen, and I personally don’t think I have anything bad to say about you. But I’d much rather get to know the real you, so if you’d still like to go out for coffee, the offer stands. Just tell me when.”
“How about right now? I don’t think I can stand to be in the same house, let alone room, as Rachel.”
Blaine smiled and nodded, he brushed past Rachel to grab his coat and keys. Reaching his hand out for Kurt’s they left the house, and went out into the snow. While they were smiling and laughing with each other, Rachel was trying to think of a way to end this ridiculous ‘relationship’. Blaine was not about to take her best friend away from her.
