“Rach, I honestly don’t understand why you refuse to have our weekly girls night at your house. My dads getting tired of us belting out the fabulous songs of Broadway in the middle of the night, and Mercedes’ mom has her book club over this weekend.”

”Kurt I already told you, I just can’t have you over this weekend. Family is coming from out of town, and my dads said not to do anything to over-excite them.”

”Rachel, we all know that your dads will give you whatever you want. Just ask them, that’s all we want.”

Rachel glanced around for a moment debating whether or not this was a good idea. She had known Kurt and Mercedes for over 3 years now, and they still didn’t know about her younger brother. Blaine was a year younger than Rachel, and attended Dalton Academy in Westerville. He had been a student there since his freshman year; he’d gotten a lot of strife in middle school. Due to the fact that he is a gay teenager in Ohio, it’s not that Rachel was embarrassed of Blaine. Not in the slightest, he’s actually one of her closest friends. She just didn’t want them to be angry with her for hiding him from them all these years. It also might have to do with the underlying fear she has that when, and if Kurt meets Blaine. That Kurt won’t need her and Mercedes anymore, she didn’t think she could handle being replaced by her younger brother.

”Fine, I’ll ask. But I am not promising anything.” She finally sighed out.

”YES!” The other two squealed in unison.

”Ladies, I’d like to point out that if Rachel’s dads say no. We will all be apart for the first weekend, in almost six months.”

”The horror. I truly feel bad for the three of you, whatever will you do with your oh so exciting lives.” Santana drawled as she passed them in the hallway.

”Just ignore her, anyways I must be off to AP French. I will see you lovely girls at lunch” With that said Kurt turned and made his way down the hallway.

Kurt Hummel, fashion extraordinaire, practically shining in talent, current senior at McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. He had the best friends he could ask for, a father who loved and supported him, a step-mother who cared deeply, a step-brother who was rather annoying at most times, and yet he felt that something was missing. He’d never complain about his girls, never in a million years. But they never quite understood him completely, then again how could they really? Neither of them had to deal with the constant bullying for simply being who they were, being shoved into lockers, thrown into dumpsters, and having slurs thrown their way at all times. They also weren’t the only openly gay student in a very un-accepting environment. Sometimes he just wished that he would meet another person, who understood everything he went through. Someone to talk to about his problems, and have them give real advice on how to deal with those things. The chances of that happening however were very very slim. Or at least, it seemed so at the time.

Finding a table with Rachel and Mercedes at lunch, he sat down and picked uninterestingly at his green salad. He normally only felt this, well for lack of a better word, lonely, when he was at home alone. He stared at the wall in front of him, nodding along and putting out his opinion when it was necessary, though he wasn’t invested in the conversation in the slightest. The evident day dreaming about a person he hadn’t even met, had taken over his conscious.

”Kurt? Are you all right? You seem a little out of it at the moment.” Mercedes asked genuinely concerned.

”Yeah ‘Cedes, I’m fine. Just day dreaming.”

With that the subject was dropped as Rachel drawled on about Glee club and how ‘under appreciated’ she is. This was a regular topic it seemed. These two may be his best friends, but they are the most oblivious people in the world. Neither of them had noticed the obvious concealer Kurt was wearing to cover the bruises across his neck from being shoved, grabbed, and prodded by the Neanderthals all week. Maybe they just couldn’t find the time to care about anything but Glee club, Vogue, and Broadway. He always made it seem that those things were his primary concerns in life, but anyone who knew the real Kurt Hummel (and he could honestly say that no one did) they’d know that it was all an act. They never notice him flinch every time he sees the blur of read and white that is the McKinley letterman jackets, they don’t notice his increasing collection of scarves. He loved scarves just as much as any gay teenager, but they simply don’t go with all of his outfits. Regardless though, he wore them. Would they ever see how sad and misplaced he felt daily? He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Rachel talking about the weekend again.

”So, I called my dads, and they said that they have absolutely no problem with the two of you coming over this weekend. But I suppose you’ll get to meet the family that’s coming into town.”

”This is the best news I’ve heard all day. What time should we arrive?”

”Around 6:30 on Friday? Bring all the musical soundtracks, the DVDs, and for the love of god, Kurt. Do not forget the facial kits.”

He scoffed “Rachel, do you honestly think that I would forget that. Me of all people, forget such an essential as facial kits. Have you gone insane?”

”Boy makes a point.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday came faster than Kurt had been anticipating; he had hardly gotten anything together for his trip to Rachel’s. He got home as fast as he could, threw everything into his overnight bags, and went downstairs to begin dinner for his father, as Carol worked the night shift on Fridays. Soon enough it was 6:00 and he was headed out to his car, his multiple bags held under his arms. Rachel only lived 5 minutes from his house, but he needed to stop at the Lima Bean to get their weekly latte’s.

Latte’s in hand he drove quickly to Rachel’s house. He was struggling to carry both the latte’s and his bags. Or at least he was until he heard a soft hesitant “Here let me help you with that” from behind him, he whipped his head around and was met with a gorgeous boy who looked to be about his age. His jaw dropped and he just nodded dumbly. He shook his head after a few moments, and composed himself. He handed the boy a bag and muttered a quick ‘thanks’ before locking his car and proceeding to the door.

”Well thanks for the help with my bags, but my friends are waiting on me inside.” He moved to take the bag from the boy, but the boy just chuckled and walked into the house shaking his head slightly. Kurt stared after him, shocked at his rudeness, but followed him into the house.

”You know, it’s very rude to walk into someone else’s house unannounced.”

”You are correct, fortunately I live here. So it’s not actually rude in the slightest.”

”What do you mean you live here?” Kurt asked

”I take it Rachel’s never mentioned me.” The boy stated

“No, why would she?” Kurt was thoroughly confused at this point

”My name is Blaine Anderson, I’m Rachel’s brother.”

End Notes: This was already on Fanfiction, so i just thought i'd put it here to.

I like the story but I'm a little confused. In chapter 1 Blaine is a year younger than Rachel but in chapter 5 Rachel is 3 months younger. Other than that I think this is a really cute story, Can't wait for an update. ^_^
