Kurt Hummel shivered as he was walking through the streets of new York. It was February, but colder than usual. He sighed as evita blasted through his earbuds and he finally reached his destination. It was late, around 10 when he finally reached his dorm room. Kurt attended NYU for fashion journalism. He was late for Wednesday movie night with his room mates because he was just in a show at the university. It wasn't his major, but he'd be damned if he gave up being on stage. He took the elevator up to the 15th floor and as he turned the key to get into his room, he heard it. A shrill scream. It was his room mate, Emily. She was petite and gorgeous and really really....lively. She also was not shy about her love of alcohol. Though it was Wednesday, she was still drinking. It was shocking how little in common he had with his room mates. Sure, he shared Emily's spunk and Kristin's taste in humor and Taylor's genuine kindness, but if you saw them together you knew something was different...well besides his y-chromosome.Kurt was driven, intelligent, and humble. He didn't share his room mates genuine disinterest in all things besides boys and alcohol. He was more keen on fashion and less...well promiscuous. He was more sensitive and quiet and loved to be busy. They preferred to stay in with their flasks. Apart from that, Kurt liked indie bands and movies while they preferred twilight and lil Wayne. But for some reason the relationship worked. They were a ying and yang. That's why he genuinely lit up when he walked in the room and saw them all sprawled around the room, gabbing and laughing, just tipsy. "hellooooo beautifullll!" Emily shrieked as she embraced him. "how was the show?!! Take a shot!" She always did get to the point. Kurt sighed and laughed and put his bag down on the bed. "take this shot and we'll make it I swear!" Kristin half sung as she handed him a shot glass full of sour smelling liquid. He obliged. One shot then sleep."so your show was good, baby?" Taylor said more quietly. Kurt smiled, though she could be crazy with alcohol in her system, Taylor was sweet."yes, it was absolutely amazing," Kurt beamed. "I missed the stage."It was true. Though kurt loved journalism and fashion, he'd never grow tired of the stage. It was him. "oh shit, gotta let the asshole in," Emily said playfully. "who's coming?" Kurt asked quietly. "nick..." Emily said almost annoyed.Nick was Emily's friend from high school who was famous for getting them into huge heaps of trouble. Please...Kurt silently begged. No trouble on a Wednesday.Kurt sat and flipped through his sociology notes as em opened the door and embraced her friend. He never looked up as he heard the almost confused set of "hey's" that followed. "hello ladies...oh and Kurt! This is my best friend Blaine."Kurt finally looked up and was smitten. Blaine was beautiful. He had curly brown hair, hazel eyes that shone and that smile? Kurt was sure he'd never seen anything so beautiful. He caught himself staring but realized Blaine had his eyes locked on Kurt as well. Weird...
