“I’ve checked with all our contacts in Washington, it would appear that the Government is not behind any of these attacks. We believe now that it is a private Organization, human based of course, with one of our kind supplying the information needed to come at us.” Santana had spent the last three weeks, digging through every piece of trash she could get her hands on to try and uncover who exactly was behind these attacks, but with no luck. Whoever was orchestrating this knew how to cover their tracks, and knew what they were doing. This was brought to light a few days before when she and Brittney raided a warehouse used for storage in downtown Seattle. They had been expecting little resistance, only a few guards at the most. They were right to that point, what they weren’t expecting though was that there weapons used Silver bullets. Although Silver would not kill a vampire, it slowed the healing process and brought on severe fatigue.
None of her men had been harmed but with this new weapon, what would next time be like? She became very reluctant to send Brittney out into the world, afraid she would lose her nearest and dearest friend. But she had to put personal feelings aside, she was a solider and must follow order just as everyone else. She stood in large square room, filled with computers and monitors from side to side, waiting for her next set of instructions….
“Thank you Santana, but I must ask you… has there been any new leads on Kurt?” Blaine’s voice cracked with emotion at the mention of Kurt’s name. Not a day had gone by where he hadn’t searched for his lost love. He traced lead after lead, but everything was a dead end. He knew he had a spy in his house, he just wasn’t quite sure of who. After he returned from the First strike mission on the Texas Airfield, he had all the medical staff rounded up and shuffled into one room. He had known a few of these people for years, but that didn’t change the fact that someone forged papers, and hid the fact that Kurt’s body was never destroyed. Finally they were able to learn, that one of the Lab Techs in the Morgue, had for years been selling the Human Bodies to Organ Harvesters in the cities. Kurt’s body was no exception, though he was positive that Kurt was dead when the loaders picked him up. Blaine had the man confess his body snatching crimes in front of the entire medical staff the next day. Blaine stood behind him as he sat in the center of the room and spoke.
“There, when we confess our sins we shall be forgiven. You did what you thought was for the best interest of your family, that I can understand all too well.” Blaine padded the guy on the shoulders..
“Thank you so much Mr. Anderson, I promise I won’t’ let you down again, you have my word.”
“I know you want, we must always protect our families, as I must do right now.” With a twist of his hands, the man’s head snapped. He fell off the side of the chair on the floor as everyone around gasped and screamed. Blaine simply stood above him and began to wipe his hands clean as if covered in dust.
“Now, hopefully we should never have to revisit this sort of policy breach… do you agree?” He gestured around the room. Everyone began to respond with nods and agreements.
“All righty, who’s hungry? I believe its meatloaf and potatoes in the cafeteria today. Why don’t all you take an early lunch, and we’ll see you back here in…. oh say… an hour and half.”
The staff began to file out of the room, no one let on that Blaine terrified them. Blaine left the room and exited down the hallway to the elevator at the far end. As soon as the doors closed he was crying, unable to hold back the flow of tears.
“Dammit, FUCKING Dammit Kurt where are you? Please…. Please” He slid down the wall sitting on the floor. “ I need you here… I can’t do this much longer without you.” He just sobbed into his hands, he didn’t for sure or not that Kurt was alive but he had hope, and that was good enough for him. The Elevator doors opened to the penthouse office and Sam was standing there waiting on Blaine.
“Ah shit bro! “ Sam rushed in and sat on the floor beside his friend. He reached around and put his arm around Blaine trying to calm him down, but he knew no matter what it wasn’t what he needed.
“Hey.. hey now, don’t give up. We don’t know if he’s dead or not. We’ll find him, you’ll see. I’m sure he ok….”
“……and if he’s really gone Sam? Then what, I can’t go on living like an empty shell.”
“If he truly is gone Blaine, then we’ll find whomever is behind this and make them wish they had never been born, Death is too good for them, but pain…. Pain is just right.” Sam had a dark side when need be, but he also had a light within himself. He had always been able to talk reason into Blaine when no one else could. He pulled Blaine in closer and hugged him tighter, promising it would be alright…
“Thanks, I needed that. “ Sam was taller than him, even sitting side by side, so he just glanced up his teary eyes meeting Sam’s.
“That’s what I’m here for my man.. that’s what I’m here for.” With that said Sam leaned down slightly and Kissed Blaine’s Forehead, He truly loved Blaine.. Blaine just snuggled in closer to Sam..
“Ok now it’s getting a little too homo in here for me, what say we get out of this Elevator and see what else is going on. OH, I almost forgot! You have a video Conference with the Council in Twenty.”
Blaine just smiled slightly, no matter what Sam was there for him. Not in the same way he knew Kurt would be, mind you.
“Ok, I need to refresh myself before seeing my brethren.” They left out of the elevator Blaine stopped just before Sam got out of sight and called out to him.
“Sam, you know I love you like a brother right? And I’d never ask anything of you that I knew would go against your will?”
“Look Blaine, ask and its yours. Right now I’d move heaven and hell if it would bring Kurt back to you. So ask away and you have my word it’ll be done.”
“ When we find Kurt……and….and he’s…..gone…. I need you to do something for me… I need you to end my life!”
……………………………….
As the Days went by more and more, Kurt found it hard to remember basic things in his life. It was the same thing every day, He would wake up, be escorted to a training area, practice half the night, and then spent the second half of the night studying Academics. At the end of every evening, His attendee’s would bring in a new human for him to feed on. He learned to control his feeding this way, how best to pull himself away when it was too much strain on their bodies. This of course was trial and Error, the First night when they had brought the Guy in the Wheelchair in, it took three of his attendee’s to pull him off the kid. If they hadn’t stopped him he was sure he would have killed him. It hadn’t worked out every time though, at least twice he did get carried away and kill the donor. He knew this should bother him but for some reason it didn’t. Their lives were insignificant to his… They were put on this planet to be used by him, no other reason.
“And how are we today Porcelain? How’s the memory?” Sue sat in a large office, behind a giant Marble desk. Behind her was a window that took up the entire wall, through it Kurt come see endless miles and miles of Ice and Snow. It was the first time he had seen the outside world since he work up here, although he wasn’t quite sure on why he was here.
“I’m better Mrs. Sylvester, my trainers say that I’m learning fast than they expected, and I haven’t killed anyone lately. As for my memory, I know my name, my age, but everything else is a bit fuzzy.”
He’s losing his humanity too fast. Is this the side effect of having an ancient one as his sire. It was outlawed for a reason, those new borns we created were too powerful and capable of overthrowing our silent world.
The one who had created her once spoke of an ancient law that must be enforced. The older the vampire the powerful they are, and in return powerful new bloods. They had decided amongst themselves a millennia ago that no one with the status of Ancient would sire a new blood. It would come into the world with all the power and strength of its creator but none of their discipline and control. She knew that in a Fit of Grief, Blaine had broken this law. Thus requiring her to take the steps that she had.
“I’m sad to say that your losing your memory faster than I expected but not to worry, it there was anything important in the pretty little head of yours, you’d be able to remember it.”
“That makes sense Mrs. Sylvester. Although…. May I be honest with you a moment?”
“Of Course Princess, what’s on your mind?”
“I keep having these…. Dreams…. And there’s a man in them, I don’t know his name and I can’t see his face. But his voice…. Its familiar to me. When he calls out to me, it makes me feel… complete, I’m not sure if that makes sense or not, but I thought you should know.”
Sue just sat there, if Kurt was forgetting everything about his life before the change, but still having dreams about Blaine, even though they weren’t that intact, meant that the two men shared something stronger than she had even guessed.
“Don’t worry about it kiddo, I’m sure it’s just gas or something. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a rather boring conference to attend. On your way out could you send in the Secretary please.”
Kurt turned and left the room, when he thought about that voice he felt warmth in his chest, but he didn’t know why. All he knew was that Sue was here to help him, and get him ready for something, but she would never tell him what. He passed by the Blonde Secretary and let her know Sue wanted her, she just rolled her eyes and entered the office.
“Ah Barbie, have Kurt moved from the Holding rooms to his own quarters. It’s about time this place started to feel like home for him.”
“Yes Mrs. Sylvester. What about the raids House Anderson is conducting?”
“You worry about Kurt, He’s almost to the point where I need him to be. We can’t afford for anything to screw up now. You let me deal with Blaine Anderson, he and I have did this dance many times before. Now will be no different.”
“Right away my lady” Quinn turned and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind her. She knew Sue would not want to be disturbed during her conference. She logged into the computer system and decided that she would move Kurt to the room next to hers. He seemed like an nice Kid, and it was awfully lonely at times here. Sue didn’t allow anyone of her house to live and socialize in the City.
Quinn left the office and headed down towards the Holding area, she might as well be the one to show Kurt to his new room. The guards opened the doors as she came and she entered his cell without a moment of hesitation.
“Kurt, My Name is Quinn. I’m Mrs. Sylvester’s Assistant, and now official your new Neighbor. If you’ll come right this way, Mrs. Sylvester has made arrangements to allow you your own quarters.”
This excited him so much. He had only gotten to see the training areas and his holding cell for weeks now, he ached to see a change in sights. He entered his new quarters and was blown away by the luxury before him. He sitting area contained a huge television and Italian leather sofa, while his bathroom had been done is Red Marble with Black outlines. His closet to his surprise was twice the size of his holding cell. He frowned seeing this, the only articles of clothing he owned were the linen pants and top he was given.
“Well I think you and I are going to have to make a shopping trip to fill this space now aren’t we.” Quinn shot him a wink and he began to giggle. He really thought he might find a friend in this girl.
“Umm… where do I sleep?” She looked around but there was no other rooms in the quarters.
“Ah yes, you’re still using a bed in the holding cells. Most Vampires only keep beds around for show and…well…. A good fuck now and then.” She smiled at him, and all he could do was blush. He couldn’t remember ever having sex, but there was something.. Like an ache in the back of his mind. Something was there, something important fighting its way to get free, it just couldn’t. He just shrugged it off and kept listening.
“ If you’ll look here” “ She pressed a switch on the wall and a panel opened up into a secrete room. He followed her in and began to look around. The room was… granite maybe.. he wasn’t quite sure, but in the center of the room there was a rectangular slab of Marble siting at a 45 degree angle. As he got closer the lid slide down and disappeared into the floor. Inside the slab was fabric lined interior, he ran his hand along it and it was soft to the touch.
“This Kurt is a Vault… It resembles a Coffin, but I assure you it’s a lot more to it. Climb in and I’ll show you.” He did as he was told. “ you see, you can personalize this however you please. There are speakers in the headrest, and a digital monitor in the front panel once the lid shuts. All Vaults made with one thing in mind, protection. They keep out the UV Radiation, resist a nuclear bomb blast, and are virtually impregnable. Once your locked inside, nothing but your own free will, will allow you to come out. It’s out greatest protection during the daylight hours.”
Kurt was impressed, they really had prepared for it all here.
“Now feel free to explore the facility, but I must advise you that you are prohibited from leaving the safety of Citadel.”
“Citadel??”
“Yes, come have a look”
. She walked out of the vault and into the sitting room pushing more buttons on the walls. Another window opened up in front of him and he was lost for a words. From what he could see he was in a large stone tower in the center of a huge city. It reminded him of a fairytale castle. The City was built in a huge Circle with the Citadel in the Center, Inside the Circle were other circles, in-between each one was icy blue flowing water. There were building that looked thousands of years old as well as building that could only have been a few years old.
“Its Beautiful!” He looked towards the sky and realized that there was no sky, in fact it was all ice. They were underground in a large Cavern of Ice. He leaned on the window and looked up to see that the top of the tower went all the way into the ceiling of ice. That much be house he saw the outside landscape in Sue’s office. She was above the surface!
“ This is the only vampire city on the planet Kurt, It was created eons ago as a sanctuary for those of us wishing to leave the outside world and live in peace. The Citizens here live and thrive by our wills. They rely on us for everything, including food.”
“Wait, how do you feed this many people?”
Quinn looked a bit uncomfortable for a moment trying to decide whether or not she could trust the boy or not. Sue must trust him or else she wouldn’t have moved him out of the holding cell so it was ok for her to as well.
“ We supply the people with a blood substitute, it’s given out every day at different stations across the city.”
“That’s cool, but I don’t know. I like the real thing, even though I’ve never had the artificial. So what do you call this giant snow globe?”
“ Sanguis Coronam. But most of us just call it the SC. But the humans who used to live here back in the day before he was covered in ice called it something else.”
“Sani---What? Really this was once a human city?”
“Sanguis Coronam, SC. Its Latin.. it means Blood Crown. Yes the humans are the original architects of most of the buildings here. The base of this tower is part of the original infrastructure too. In a great earthquake a long time ago, the City Sank under the sea , the ones before us found it in the ice and thus here we are today..”
“Sank under…. Oh you’ve got to be shitting me? Are you serious? I’m standing in the Fucking Lost City of Atlantis?”
…………………………………………
“Let’s bring this meeting to an opening shall we then.” Blaine spoke on the monitor.
“ My what’s the big hurry Curly ?” Sue knew exactly how to get under Blaine’s Skin.
“ I agree with Blaine, let’s be done with this already we have important matters to discuss.”
“Well hello to you to Cooper, Does no one practice manors anymore.. Sheesh”
“The attacks on our covens have decreased slightly since are raids on their hideouts. To date, I’ve lost 3 covens, 21 of my Brethren to this terrorist. Not to mention the assault on myself and Lady Cohen-Chang, and the Kidnaping of my love, Kurt.” Blaine began, he felt it was his place since he was spearheading the campaign against the terrorist.
“Lover? Really Anderson? You knew the boy for what.. a few days and now he’s your lover? Sure you didn’t just scare him off with your commitment issues?”
“Enough of this, I have also lost a few Covens to this madness. The attacks have become more severe leaving fewer and fewer survivors every time. Something must be done about this. They can’t be allowed to go on.” Cooper was a man of few words, so when he spoke, it was worth listening.
“I agree, We discovered a communication ship just offshore from Hong Kong. It appeared they were using it as some sort of Local headquarters. All we found though were bodies, our only guess is they knew we were coming and instead of giving us hostages, they filled the ship with cyanide gas. The wiped the hard drives as well but I have our best Teams working to uncover any date left.
“Well I’m happy to report that other than a few new mouths to feed. Things are all clear here. We’ve had to altercations or breaches in security what so ever. It shouldn’t be that hard to discover the Humans behind all this.”
Blaine slammed his fist down on the table. “ If it’s so damn easy, then why don’t you bring your frosty ass up here and help! You sit in your safe city while the rest of our people suffer. Your supposed to be a leader Sue, not Step help and take some responsibility.”
Sue Just smiled slyly, she had gotten what she wanted out of him…Blaine was never one to hold his temper long.
“ Take Responsibility you say? You have what, a dozen or more covens surrounding the world, maybe 5 to 600 Vampires? Here in the SC, I have 723…well.. 24 now. It’s my responsibility to keep them safe, and if that means staying out of this bloody war then so be it. Has it occurred to any of you that, the reason you keep getting attacked, is that maybe.. just maybe, you’ll allowed a spy in to your Great Houses.?”
This hit close to home with Blaine, He had felt for some time that he had a spy in his midst. He was almost positive that it was Vampire too, no human would be dumb enough to go against them. But who, one of his personal guard maybe? One of his Lt.’s? The list went on and one…
“I agree… with Sue. These terrorist have way to much information on our kind to be doing this alone. Yes, I believe they are being Bank Rolled by Humans, but there is definitely a vampire helping them!”
“That’s absurd Blaine, My God listen to yourself. How can you dare accuse one of our own people? Do you have proof? Have you found a spy in your House? No? Then may I offer some advice, don’t point figures where you have no proof.” Cooper was furious, He prided himself on the knowledge and trust he had given to everyone in his house hold. His people would die before betraying each other. He knew this was the same in the other Great House’s. He just couldn’t understand why Blaine didn’t see this.
“what shall we do then? Investigate our of House’s? We need a united force and plan to combat this treachery. I move that we convene one month from today, and settle all formal disputes and requisitions we have with each other for the greater safety of our people!”
“I Agree with Blaine. House Cohen-Chang with agree to this.”
“As Will my House” Cooper knew that his brothers and sisters were hard headed but, this was something new altogether!
“Well then I guess House Sylvester Shall attend as well. Where do you propose we have this summit?”
“Well Sue, Since you swear that the SC is the safest place on the planet for our kind.. why don’ you be our lovely Hostess.”
Sue Gritted her teeth, the last thing she wanted was them coming here, but to refuse would only arouse more suspicion. “ Very Well, It would be an Honor for House Sylvester to Entertain its Brethren!”
Each of the Lords Bowed to each other and then there monitors went black.
Blaine sat in his Chair staring at the screen in front of him. Sue was hiding something, he knew it deep down. Whether or not it was good or bad he did not know. He did know however that he must have a traitor, now all that was left was to find he or she.
“Santana” He barely spoke above a whisper..
“Yes My Lord.” She had appeared not a moment after her name was spoken, Blaine never realized exactly how fast she was.
“I’ve a job for you. I need you to find me someone…”
“My Lord, I swear to you. We’re doing everything in our power to locate Information on Kurt. We’ve left no stone unturned in our mission.”
“I know you have old friend, but this is not about Kurt. I need someone in House Sylvester, someone I can count on to , shall we say, pass the word along on whatever game it is Sue is playing at.”
“ A Spy in House Sylvester would be a great advantage for you my lord, in fact, an Old friend of mine is a member of that Household. She might can be persuaded to help us out… if this price is right. Although, I hadn’t spoken to her since we parted ways almost 100 years ago.”
“100 years? I don’t remember you having friends back then. Tsk tsk, you’ve been keeping things from me.”
Santana just laughed, she was a bitch, she knew that, but it wasn’t unheard of for her to have a friend or two. “ Do you remember that little Boat ride I took in oh say..1912? “
Blaine had to think for a moment and then began laughing to himself. “ Yes,, ha-ha, Yes I do remember that. In fact I remember the thing was your fault. You were in the process of eating the helmsman when the ship hit.”
“ I’ve no idea what you’re talking about, and if I did. Well then I’d be much to lady like to speak of it.”
“Ok then, so get in touch with this friend and see what we can learn.”
“Yes Sir, I’m sure Quinn would love to catch up with Brittney and I”
With that she turned and left. Finding himself alone once again, Blaine began to think about Kurt. How beautiful he was, his perfect Skin.. Perfect Hair, the way his lips made the cutest little sound when he was aroused. Blaine found himself, fighting an ever growing bulge in his pants. He fought off the urge to satisfy himself, I made a vow 3 weeks ago that he would never touch himself or another until he had Kurt in his arms again. Kurt was the only one who could satisfy his love and lust. He began to think about all the things he really didn’t know about Kurt, and this got him thinking. What if… Kurt was ok and out in the world. Where would the most likely go?
Blaine pushed the speaker on his desk and ask for Sam. Sam walked into the room, exhaustion on his face, deep dark bags under his eyes. Blaine knew his friend hadn’t rested since Kurt left, he had spent all his time night and day searching for any lead he could come across.
“Sam… you look like shit….”
“Thank you… did you need something or did you just want to nag me.”
“Get the Jet ready, were leaving !”
“Where are we going oh high and mighty pain in my ass”
“Tell the pilot to plot a Flight to Lima, OH.”
…………………………………………………………………………….
The room was Dark, and the Man sitting at the desk liked it that way. He knew his war with the Vampires was growing. His Inside source had kept him up to date on all their movement and planning. With all this information he had made a huge impact in the fight. He would rid the world of these monsters before it was all said and done, this he swore on the graves of his lost love ones. He had received a phone call earlier in the night from his spy letting him know that he had someone else who was interested in helping the cause, in the exchange that when all was said and done, he was allowed to take command over the remaining few survivors when it was done. The man agreed to these term, even though he had no intention of keeping them in the end. The new Vampire would be arriving at his office in a few moments and they would discuss in greater detail what information he has to offer.
The Doors opened and the Vampire entered escorted by two armed guards carrying Silver loaded Automatic Rifles and UV Batons that would light up in a blink. He sat across from the man in the shadows, not quite sure of what he had gotten himself into…
“So.. Dave, can I call you Dave? What information do you have to share with us? Now let me warn you, if it’s not worth it, then your services will no longer be needed, so please take some time and consider this.”
“Umm…sir..” Dave tried to see past the shadows to see who the man was but, to no avail. “ The council will be meeting in less than a month, to discuss in person what should be done about your attacks. They plan on uniting their armies and coming after you. I can give you the location of the meeting.”
The Man was impressed, this was the perfect time for him to take them all out in one swoop. He would not pass up this opportunity, no matter what. “ Well that is a good bit of information, I see no need in keeping secrets anymore.” The man stepped out of the shadows and for the first time Karofsky could see clearly who he was. He was shocked at the fact that he recognized the man before him. He had seen his picture on dozens of news channels and magazines..
“hmmm well I’ll be damned. Jesse St. James, Playboy Billionaire who spends most of his time building orphanages and homeless shelters around the world. Correct me if I’m wrong but your corporation, SunRise, is also the leading Weapons contractor with the U.S. Military. “”
“Well well, you’ve done your homework. Now tell me.. where is this secrete location?”
Dave just laughed. All he dreams of power for finally coming true.” Better pack you coat rich boy… were going south… Deep South.”
