“I…I don’t understand” Blaine’s voice broke as he bit his lip to hold back the sobs threatening to escape.
“We’re just not happy anymore Blaine. It kills me to say this but us being in New York together has shown me that we are two different people, too different to survive marriage” Kurt said as steady as he could, trying to fight the urge to tell Blaine that he didn’t mean a word he was saying. He was just utterly terrified for reasons he couldn't begin to explain.
“But your wrong…Your wrong Kurt. We’ve always been perfected for each other, ever since we met! Is it the stress of planning the wedding thats made you feel this way because I completely understand if-“
“It’s not the wedding!” Kurt exclaimed “Blaine, I love you and I always will but you cant deny that we are drifting apart, we always argue and other the stupidest of things! It’s not fair to either of us Blaine. Im so sorry that we had to end like this but I cant… I just cant do this anymore. I hope you forgive me someday. Im sorry” After sliding the silver band of his finger that symbolized the incredible love they shared and placing it on the table, Kurt abruptly stood up and ran out of the coffee shop that they have been going to regularly for almost seven months before breaking down a couple of streets down, realizing that he had just walked away from the best thing that ever happened to him.
Before Blaine could even say a word Kurt was gone. All that was left was his ring, his cup of coffee and the pain lingering all around Blaine.
Blaine stood at the bottom of the stairs in the exact same place that he met the love of his life, the spot where he proposed to him and was promised forever.
One month. Its been one whole month since his perfect world fell to pieces. Blaine didn't feel angry like his family and friends expected, instead he felt immense pain. He had not seen or spoke to Kurt since that horrible day and he was worried sick to his very core. Even though Kurt said he had his reasons for ending it with Blaine, he could sense something was wrong. Blaine had been deeply in love with Kurt for a couple of years now, he knew it wasn't decades but in the time Blaine had known Kurt and been around him he knew Kurt like the back of his hand. People thought Blaine would push Kurt completely out of his mind to shut off the pain he had been feeling constantly, but he knew he could never do that. No matter what, Blaine was absolutely positive that Kurt was his forever and always would be.
Sighing to himself Blaine sat down on the bottom step of the staircase thinking of the day his life changed forever, the day a shy Kurt Hummel tapped him on the shoulder in awe of his surroundings and became mesmerized by Blaine Anderson.
