Kurt walked into his apartment carrying two bags of groceries and a bottle of red wine. A typical Friday night for him. He set the groceries down and went to the kitchen to open the bottle immediately. He poured himself a cup before attempting to put away the food. He took a deep breath just before the phone rang. He walked over to the wall phone in the kitchen and picked it up.
“Hi daddy.” A soft voice said through the receiver.
“Hello Kimmy.” He said to his daughter. Kimberley Burt Anderson spent every weekend at her fathers house, down the road.
“Did I leave Mr. Kittens there?” She asked about her stuffed animal. Kurt walked into her daughters small room at the end of the hall and saw a small stuffed cat on the floor. He returned to the phone, “Yes sweetheart. Would you like me to bring it ov-” Just then the line changed and Blaine, Kim's father was speaking. “Can you drop it off. She's not happy-”
“Without him, I know Blaine.” Kurt said harshly on the phone. “Tell her to hold tight. I'll be there in a sec.”
“Bye.” Blaine said. Kurt hung up. He took another sip of his wine, grabbed his keys and left with the stuffed cat her grandfather, on which she was named after gave to her.

Kurt reached his ex-husbands home in know time. The small perks of living in a small town. Yet with that a small town did make it impossible to stay away from someone. At the store, or on the streets, at some point you would run into the person you didn't want to see. In this case, it was Blaine. A man he once loved very much and cared for. However now the only thing that connected him and Blaine was 6 year old Kimberley.

KNOCK KNOCK. Kurt hit the door.
“Took you long enough.” Blaine said opening the door. Kim ran over to her father and hugged his knees. Kurt smiled at his daughter.
“Did you bring him?” She asked.
“Of course.” Kurt handed her the animal and took a step inside. “You redecorated.” Kurt stated.
“Yes.” Blaine said.
“Daddy, can Kurt stay for dinner? Please.” Kim begged at Blaine's feet. Kurt took a deep breath.
“Sweetheart, Kurt gets to eat with you all the time. Tonight’s my night with you.” Blaine tried to whisper the end, but couldn't.
“It's okay. Enjoy your night, Kimmy.” Kurt started to head out.
“No, I wanna eat with both of you. Both my daddy's. Please. I never get to do that.”
Kim was right. She hadn't eaten any meal with both her fathers in 3 months, when they separated. They didn't want a divorce just yet, so they just lived apart.
Kurt became overcome with guilt. What a life he had put his daughter through? She probably planned forgetting Mr. Kittens so both her fathers could stand in the same room for once.
“Fine. He can stay.” Blaine said.
“Yay! We gonna have so much fun.” Kim ran over to Kurt. She grabbed his hand and sat him at table. She took her own seat. Blaine walked out carrying a large pot containing Alfredo pasta.
“Tonight’s dinner, probably doesn't fit into Kurt's diet Kimmy.” Blaine snarled.
“No, no. It's fine.” Kurt nodded at Kim.
“Very mature.” Kurt whispered.
“Just stating the obvious Kurt.” Blaine spat the word Kurt.
“Please no fighting!” Kim screamed. “Not now. Please.”
Kurt and Blaine both sat in peace and ate. Little conversation happened except when Kim brought up something to talk about, but even then the conversation was one sided.. By dessert Kimberley was running out of topics to bring up.

After dinner Kim refused to let Kurt leave. She made a large fit and forced Kurt to stay the night. Kurt planned he'd sleep on the couch and stay out of Blaine's way. Blaine was angry about all of this. Furious even. This was his time with his daughter. But he couldn't deny her, her father, in the end.
“Good night.” Kurt said to Blaine as he headed out the living room.
Blaine started to walk out but then turned. “Did you plan this?” He asked furious.
End Notes: I hope you like this.
