Author's Notes: New POV for you. Third person.
Manlei is a strong, independent, lesbian women. She is quite good at taking charge and enforcing fear. But her heart of gold is what makes her so beloved, as long as you don't get on her bad side. She has a large voice in a small Italian body. With defined curves and a small bust.
“Morning.” She begins. Blaine rubs his tired eyes. “Last night was scary. Especially for those living on the floor. I am very proud of how it was handled and how we carried ourselves in that situation. You boys continue to hold pride for this school in every situation.”
The boys around the table smile and look around. “Now, we need to make sure this is not repeated. Fire safety lessons are scheduled throughout next week for all grades.” Blaine shifts in his seat.
“Miss?” Mark Patel a short, Indian boy speaks, a senior.
“Yes.” Manlei answers.
“What exactly happened? I mean, what was the cause?”
“As I am sure, you are all dying to know, there will be an information assembly Wednesday at noon, to explain to the whole student body what occurred last night. There you shall find your answer. This meeting is surely to ensure this doesn't happen again.”
“Please miss, tell us.” Lawrence begs. He holds hands with Andrew on the table. Andrew stares at his lap. Tears seem to well in his eyes.
“It will help us determine what to do next.” Blaine says. Kurt looks to Blaine's eyes, trying to read them.
“Fine.” Manlei allows. “It was a candle. One small, purple candle.” Manlei closes her eyes. The boys around the rooms, faces fall. They couldn't believe what she had just said. “It was simply to close to the curtain. This is all the firefighters have told me. I personally have not visited his room as of just yet.”
Andrew breathed heavily. The boys gaze turned to him and then back to Manlei.
“Pearl!” Amy Costa exclaimed as she entered the room. Amy is Manlei's life partner, or better called her wife, and the Head Trustee of the school. They even share an adopted daughter together, named Macy. She is 12 and beautiful, attending an all girl school 5 minutes away. Macy likes to visit Dalton all the time. She has become a regular student here, knowing more teachers and Dalton history then some of the seniors. “There has been news. The boys parents are on the way. You are called.” Manlei walks forward and whispers. “What news?”
Amy shakes her head. “Not here.” She stares at the boys around.
“ I understand. Give me two minutes. Let me wrap up.” Amy nods and leaves. Kurt can't believe how well they work together when in love. He imagines him and Blaine working so closely in the future. He likes that future.
Manlei returns to her post and address' the council.
“Well, it seems today's meeting is to be cut short. Check your email, as usual for new meeting dates. See you so-”
“Wait, Miss.” Andrew stands and calls Manlei.
“Yes.” She turns to stare at the boy, along with the rest of the council.
“I was, I think, that the best thing to do right now, is cancel the day. All classes. Make this a rest day. I think my peers and I will be able to focus more if we have a day to shake the fire incident out of us.” Andrew looks around. “Don't you think?” The boys around nod and then stare at Manlei.
“I think that would be best. How about, you head up to administration and make the announcement. Clear the day. But only for today. I will send an email to all staff. Great idea Andrew.” Manlei takes out her smart phone and begins the email. She heads down the hall and turns the corner.
Andrew sits. He takes a deep breath and holds Lawrence's hand. Lawrence smiles and rests his head on his boyfriends shoulder.
“Great idea, Andrew.” Blaine speaks, standing. Kurt stands as well, and the council slowly begins to leave the room. Andrew and Lawrence sit until the room empties and then heads to the administration wing to make the announcement.
End Notes: I love Manlei, modeled after a personal, awesome teacher of mine. Add a review if you love her too. XD
