“Blaine?”
“Yes?”
“If...you weren't here right now and hadn't gone to live with Cooper...where would you be?” Kurt asked. He'd been curious for a long time wondering what other life Blaine could have had.
“Probably a business man. My dad had the plans for me all set out. I'd finish school in three years and be taking over the next branch they opened up.”
“Where would that be?”
“France. For a long time I wanted to live there but I've given up on that dream,” Blaine said.
“Do you regret choosing this life?” Kurt asked.
“Sometimes I did...now I don't because I got you in this life and I would never want to go back now,” Blaine said. Kurt looked up at him surprised but smiled.
“I promise...one day I will take you to France no matter what it takes. Screw getting a pricey car...I want to make you happy so I'd take you to France as many times as I can,” Kurt said as he moved up to face him and leaned down to kiss him. Kurt's hand cupped Blaine's face and he laid down on Blaine. Blaine's hands moved down Kurt's chest to the hem of his shirt. He pulled it over him and threw it to the side. Blaine's mouth moved from his to his neck. He nipped there lightly, sending shivers down Kurt's spine.
“Bedroom?” Kurt said.
“We're going to be alone and...god...and I don't want to move from here,” Blaine replied.
“Are you sure we're alone?”
“Positive.”
Kurt unbuttoned Blaine's shirt and pulled it down his shoulders. Blaine bit harder into his neck making Kurt squirm. It was such a turn on for him and it only made things better. Once Blaine pulled away he kissed down his neck to his chest. Kurt looked up into Blaine's lust blown hazel eyes and smiled.
“I love you,” Kurt said.
“I love you too...” Blaine replied and their lips reattached.
Kurt pulled into the garage excited. They were finally going to work on the body of the Shelby. They had finished all of the mechanical stuff and had put the engine in the other day. Blaine ordered them everything they'd need for this. Kurt and him had decided on the color for it. They were going to do red with black stripes through the center. He got out of his car and walked up to Blaine.
Blaine turned around and put his arms around him. Kurt kissed him and looked into his hazel eyes. He looked back to see the hood of his Mustang open. Kurt rolled his eyes and moved away. Blaine's hands stayed on his hips as he looked into the car.
“Are you ever going to stop?” Kurt asked. Blaine shook his head and went back to work.
“Are we going to work on the Shelby?” Kurt asked.
“Sure! Just let me finish here,” Blaine said. Kurt walked back to his car and opened the back door.
“Are you leaving?” Blaine asked as he looked back. He wiped his hands in a rag and put it on the car and moved closer to Kurt.
“No. I have something for you,” Kurt said. Blaine looked at him confused as Kurt pulled the little box from his car. Kurt looked down at it and held it out to Blaine and shut the back door to his car. Blaine took it curiously but confused.
“You didn't need to get me anything,” Blaine said.
“I know we said no gifts but...I wanted to get you this. I know time together was all we wanted but I had to do this,” Kurt replied. Blaine shook his head smiling and opened up the box. He looked confused as he pulled out a snow globe. Inside was a mini Eiffel Tower with a picture of Paris in the back ground. Blaine reached inside the box once more and pulled out two tickets.
“No...Kurt I can't accept this.”
“Yes you can and you will. We leave in a month. After the race and after we finally shut Sebastian up.”
“You are...” Blaine said starting to cry. Kurt threw his arms around Blaine and kissed him. He blinked back his tears but they fell anyway.
“Kurt...nobody has done anything like this for me...”
“I know...I just want you to have a good time and birthday.”
“Shit! I forgot about that,” Blaine said laughing through the tears. Kurt smiled back at him as his hands cupped Blaine's cheeks. He ran his thumbs over the tear tracks.
“Why did you do this?”
“Because you deserved it. You've done so much for me and I thought I owed you a little gift. You're welcome to take Cooper instead if you want,” Kurt replied.
“Fuck no. I want you with me. I only want you there. Just you and me away from the real world for a while,” Blaine said.
“I like how that sounds,” Kurt replied. He kissed Blaine once more and they put the items away. Kurt put them in his car and Blaine went back to work. Kurt smiled at the man happy he was happy. They had a little tiff afterwards because Blaine wanted Kurt's car to stay in the garage but Kurt was fighting him on it.
“Just let me keep it here. I'd rather it locked up than in your garage.”
“No! I need a car Blaine!”
“Cooper has a car you can use at our house. Come on.”
“No.”
“Kurt!”
“Blaine!”
“I just want to make sure your car isn't touched! We know Nick's was and I...I can't let that happen to you,” Blaine said.
“Just because somebody had it out for Nick doesn't mean they're out for me!”
“He was part of this group. He was connected to Cooper and I. You are in the group and connected to us. They could be after me, Cooper, you, Jeff, anybody!”
“Exactly! Anybody! You aren't like this with anybody else! Just me!”
“Because, I love you! I can't lose you! So, just leave your Camaro here and this can be done,” Blaine replied.
“I love you, too, but come on Blaine. The chances are slim...”
“Leave the car, Kurt. Please?”
“Ugh, I give up,” Kurt said turning and walking back to his car. He started it up and left the garage. He drove back to his house and parked in his garage. He got Blaine's gifts from the back seat and locked his car. He walked into his house and put them on the kitchen table. He got a beer from his fridge and sat down on the couch staring at the wall thinking.
After a few hours alone his doorbell rang. He got up and opened the door to see Blaine, soaked to the core. He looked out and saw it was raining steadily. He didn't even notice it had started up. He opened the screen door and let Blaine in.
“I'm sorry,” Kurt said.
“No, I'm sorry...I shouldn't be so overbearing,” Blaine replied.
“I understand why though...but you need to know I can take care of myself.”
“I know you can...I'm just...”
“Afraid to lose me?”
“Yeah...I just got you...I can't fathom losing you.”
“Well, I thought about it and decided to leave my car at the garage. I was going to come over later but since you're here I might as well go,” Kurt said. Blaine smiled at him and moved in closer. Their noses touched and their lips ghosted over each others. Kurt pressed his lips to Blaine's and smiled.
They separated and Kurt got his keys. He gave Blaine back his gift and they walked out into the garage. Kurt stopped dead in his tracks. All four of his tires were slashed and the four windows in the doors were smashed.
“Shit!” Blaine said. Kurt looked to see his garage door was open.
“I closed that when I got home and locked it...somebody...somebody got in. Blaine, I didn't hear them...they could have come in my house,” Kurt said shaking. Blaine wrapped him up in his arms and kissed his head.
“It's okay...we'll figure out who did this,” he said. Kurt nodded and cried into Blaine's shoulder. He might not be here right now if whoever did this had come into his house. The thought of it scared him more than anything ever had.
