Blaine woke up the next morning in Kurt's arms. He opened his eyes to see his hands were fisted in Kurt's shirt holding tightly to him. He tried to move away slowly but Kurt's arms were wrapped around him. One of Kurt's legs were tossed over his own holding him close. He looked up and kissed his neck lightly. Kurt sighed and opened his eyes.
“Morning,” Blaine said.
“Good morning,” Kurt replied pulling his leg away. Blaine wished for the warmth of Kurt around him once more as Kurt got up. He walked into the bathroom and Blaine heard the shower turn on. He looked around once more at the room he was in. It was his old room. The one that reminded him of Sebastian and him but was able to look past. He got to sleep with Kurt, it was worth it. He fell back asleep against Kurt's pillow until he came to wake him up to get ready.
A gentle kiss was placed on his temple and he smiled. He opened his eyes and looked up to see Kurt standing above him. Kurt leaned down and kissed him once more.
“If you want to actually make it to work today you'll let me get up...” Blaine said.
“I wish we didn't have to go...now I need to explain myself to Rachel...”
“I forgot about her.”
“So did I...I always told her I wouldn't date someone I work with but...I kind of failed at that...didn't I?” Kurt said laughing. Blaine sat up and Kurt sat next to him.
“I remember that conversation all too well,” Blaine said. Kurt looked at him scared and shook his head.
“I don't mean it now...I don't! I have you and you're the best thing to come into my life in ages!”
“You're the best thing to come in my life in the past two years...I can't even begin to thank you,” Blaine said. He kissed Kurt on the cheek and got up to get showered. He walked into the master bathroom and sighed. Too many memories haunted this part of the room too. He turned the shower on and got ready for the day. He left the curls loose and walked back into the bedroom. Kurt wasn't in the room so he figured he was down in the kitchen. He got dressed and made his way down.
“Ready to go?” Kurt asked. Blaine nodded and they left. The drive was silent but perfect. Kurt's hand was holding his the whole time. When they got to the studio they let go. Blaine didn't like it but Kurt still had to break up with Leo and they didn't know if he was here or not. Blaine walked in to see Rachel walking towards him and smiling. She wrapped her arms around him and squealed.
“Sideline is amazing! I cannot wait to hear it on the radio! It's going to do so well!”
“Thank you...” Blaine said. Kurt walked in and looked at him nervously. Kurt grabbed Rachel and pulled her to the side talking. Quinn smiled at him and walked over to them. When Quinn looked back at him with wide eyes he knew what they were talking about.
“I'm calling it off with Leo later on...when I see him for lunch. Please...help me if it gets bad?”
“Of course! It's about time you two got together anyway! I was going to lose my bet with Quinn and Santana but now...I won!” she said smiling. Blaine and Kurt walked back down Kurt's little office. He put a cd in his laptop and Blaine's song started playing. He sat back and listened to it. Kurt put a few of the other demos on and they decided which ones they wanted. Kurt left him after awhile to grab lunch so he sat down to write. This song would be a surprise for Kurt on Friday.
When he was happy with the lyrics he set to making the sheet music. It took him about an hour to even do that but by then he heard Kurt talking. And it wasn't good. Blaine put the sheet music and lyrics away and opened the door slowly. In the hall stood Kurt and Leo. Leo's back was to Blaine but he could tell he was ticked. Kurt was pointing a finger at Leo as he rambled off about how much of an ass he was. Blaine walked out slowly and he saw Kurt's eyes shift to him quickly. Leo didn't notice because he was starting to yell at Kurt.
“Who the hell do you think you are?!”
“I am done Leo! There is no more fighting to keep me at your side! I'm done!”
“It's because of that alcoholic jackass isn't it? You think he can give you everything? I gave you more in a day than he can in a year! I make more than him in a day than he does in a month!”
“Once his song is released he'll be making a hell of a lot more than you!”
“That's what you think! You just pity him because he lost his fuck toy!”
“Don't ever talk about Sebastian that way!” Kurt yelled. Blaine had never seen him so angry. His usual soft blue eyes were stone cold gray. Leo slammed his fist against the wall and raised it to hit Kurt but Blaine was faster. He pulled Leo back and threw him to the ground. Leo looked up at him surprised and got up quickly.
“Sebastian was more of a man than you ever will be! You resort to hitting your boyfriend so you can feel like a man! You're no man!”
“You're not one either!”
“He's more of a man than you think. He's been through so much and survived it all. What have you been through? Oh, yeah, nothing!” Kurt said. Leo pushed Kurt away and grabbed Blaine and pinned him to the wall. Blaine watched worried as Kurt was pushed to the ground. He got up and ran down the hall and into the main area of the building. Blaine looked back at Leo and spit in his face. A fist connected with his face a second later.
“Leo!” he heard Kurt yell. Blaine brought his knee up and hit Leo right in the chest. He let him go and Blaine landed a punch to his face. Security was right behind Kurt and grabbed Leo. One looked at Blaine but Kurt grabbed onto him and shook his head. Leo fought against the hold on him as they dragged him out. Blaine looked over at Kurt who was shaking.
“Are you okay?” Blaine asked.
“Am I okay? You're the one that got punched!”
“I'm fine...I've had worse,” Blaine said. Kurt looked down and led him to the bathroom. Rachel was running down the hall towards them.
“Leo's gone...is Blaine okay?” she asked worried. Blaine looked at her and smiled but winced as he did.
“Go take care of him...I'll make sure Leo stays away...” Rachel said and then walked away. Kurt led him into the bathroom and wet some towels and wiped down his face. He looked in the mirror to see his left cheek bruising and his bottom lip was split. Blaine sighed and looked down.
“Are you okay?” Kurt asked. One of his hands was soothingly rubbing up and down Blaine's back. Blaine moved closer to him and Kurt's arms wrapped around him. He tried to not cry but the tears fell. He didn't know why but he figured it was because of Sebastian.
“It's okay...we're going to be okay. You have me now...I'm always going to be here,” Kurt said. They finished the day at the studio and made their way to a diner down the road. It wasn't anything fancy, it was perfect for them. They ate in silence until they left.
“Blaine...did you tell that other guy you aren't moving in?” Kurt asked.
“No...but I will when I go in Friday for my gig.”
“Good,” Kurt said smiling. They drove home holding hands once more. When Kurt opened the apartment door their laughter stopped. Blaine looked around. The room was absolutely trashed. Everything was thrown around and broken. Kurt ran for his bedroom and Blaine followed slowly. When he got to the bedroom it was just as bad, if not worse, than the living room. A frame that held a photo of Kurt and Leo was broken and the picture torn in half.
“Well, I wonder who did this,” Blaine said. Kurt was sitting on the bed crying. Blaine dropped the frame and went over to him and wrapped his arms around him. He kissed his head as Kurt cried into his shoulder.
“It's okay...” Blaine said. Kurt's hysteric sobs soon faded and Blaine looked down to see he had fallen asleep. Blaine laid him down on the bed and he walked around to his side. He looked at the night stand he had put his chain on. The chain laid there but the ring was gone. Blaine fell down by the bed and let the tears fall. Once again...his ring from Sebastian had been taken. He soon moved onto the bed and laid by Kurt. He put an arm around him and cuddled close to him. His head laid in the crook of Kurt's neck and he placed lazy kisses on his neck.
“Blaine? What's wrong?” Kurt asked.
“It's gone...”
“What's gone?”
“The ring...the chain is here but the ring is gone...”
“I'm so sorry...” Kurt said. He rolled over and kissed Blaine tenderly.
“I can't believe it...and this time I may not get it back.”
“Blaine? Have you ever thought that maybe this is a sign?” Kurt asked.
“What do you mean?” Blaine asked confused.
“Maybe...maybe this is a way of saying let it be...don't go searching for it. Maybe this time it's saying move on...”
“I can't...I will always love Sebastian...that was my last reminder of him.”
“No...it wasn't. You have photos you told me about that are packed at your parents house. Get them back. You have the memories of the days you spent with him. You have so much of him and you think that the ring is the only thing here...”
“It's the only thing I can hold onto...like I'm holding onto him...”
“I know sweetie...but...you said you want to move on and love and be loved...let go of the ring now...”
“I guess you're right...” Blaine said. Blaine moved closer to him and took in his scent. He smiled and nodded.
“Maybe I can do this...”
“Why don't we ask your parents to ship the photos out to you? You can put them up if you want.”
“That's not fair to you...it should be photos of us going up...not photos of my past...”
“I know but...you should put some up anyway. The really important ones. I wouldn't blame you if you did,” Kurt said.
“Thank you...you're too good to be true,” Blaine said.
“I love you,” Kurt said. Blaine looked up at him surprised and saw his blue eyes turn scared.
“I love you too,” Blaine said and then kissed him.
