Author's Notes: Here's the beginning! Thanks for reading!
Blaine made his way to the little stage at the front of the coffee shop. It wasn't as busy as usual and that didn't help. The owners of the shop said that if more people didn't show up they'd cut his pay until more did. He passed by one table where a guy sat alone looking out into the New York City street. The man had coiffed hair, shocking blue eyes, and lips that he wanted to press his own too. The man looked at him and smiled lightly then looked down at his coffee. Blaine had seen him before but never spoke to him. The man drew him nearer until he was at his table.
“Hi...” Blaine said. Those blue eyes burned into his and he smiled.
“Hi. You are?”
“I'm the entertainment...the singer. Blaine Anderson,” he said reaching his hand out. The man took his and shook it.
“Name's Kurt Hummel,” the man said. Kurt. It fit him so perfectly. He released his hand and smiled nervously.
“I need to go...but I hope you enjoy the show,” Blaine said walking away. He made his way onto the stage and picked up his guitar. Kurt was turned toward him watching him as he started singing. The show seemed to drag for once and he wished it would end already. His last song came up and it was the one he was dreading the most. It was actually for Kurt. He wanted to know this man so badly and liked him even though they just officially met tonight.
“This is my last song...It's called I Don't Know You. It's my newest song...One I just wrote for tonight...so here goes.”
He started strumming the guitar and looking out at the people gathered. He watched as Kurt made a phone call and then put his phone down.
“They say, the first thing you notice about someone is their smile, but your eyes caught me first. Never been so lost, in an ocean of blue until I met you. And I'm happy, drowning in you, so don't tell me to go now because I'm in for the long haul...” he stopped strumming and then picked back up for the chorus.
“Your smile is blinding, your eyes are captivating, and I'm entranced by who you are and I'm ready to give in, cause I can't get you out of my head. And I don't wanna fight these feelings for you, because it's true I'm in love with you, but I don't know what to do, because I don't know you.”
He kept strumming and looked over at Kurt. A small smile was playing at his lips and he seemed to like the song.
“How does it feel to know I'm wrapped around your finger even though you have no clue. How does it feel to know you're wanted by someone who truly loves you. How does it feel to have an admirer who just can't step out of the shadows. But I'll never be able to take that step forward because, how could someone like you not have anybody already?”
He looked down instead of at Kurt because honestly? How could Kurt be single? He was amazing and some girl had to be lucky to have him.
“Your smile is blinding, your eyes are captivating, and I'm entranced by who you are and I'm ready to give in, cause I can't get you out of my head. And I don't wanna fight these feelings for you, because it's true I'm in love with you, but I don't know what to do, because I don't know you.”
He looked back at Kurt for the last part. Maybe it would be clear to him then but he didn't know if he wanted him to know. He took a breath and went forward.
“So here's how I'll say it...I'll say it through song. Here's how I feel...I know it's all wrong because how could someone feel for a person that they don't even know...so here it is...I'll say it now, in front of you...I want you. I need you. I think you're amazing. But you'll never know so I'll just walk away...”
He slowed his strumming down and only played a few chords as he started back up in the chorus once more. Kurt's smile grew a little and Blaine wondered what was up with him.
“Your smile is blinding, your eyes are captivating, and I'm entranced by who you are and I'm ready to give in, cause I can't get you out of my head. And I don't wanna fight these feelings for you, because it's true I'm in love with you, but I don't know what to do, because I don't know you.”
He finished out the song once more with the chorus and then stopped. The group clapped for him and smiled nervously and got up. He put his guitar in its case and picked it up. Most of the people had left by now and there were only a few left, including Kurt. He walked out of the shop and made his way down to his apartment.
“Hey!”
He stopped and turned around confused. There stood Kurt running to him. Blaine wondered what he was up to as he stopped by him.
“Hi?”
“Look...there's a reason I came after you...”
“Which is?”
“That song was really good and your voice is amazing. I'm a talent scout you could say and I represent our company.”
“What company?”
“Berry Records. They're signing on people right now and she loved your voice...”
“Wait...you're THE Kurt Hummel? The one who brought Joanna Lycom from rags to riches?”
“And I can do the same for you...” Kurt said smiling.
“I don't know...this is just my side job right now...”
“You're really good and it could be your main job. Think...a record deal, your name in lights, millions of fans screaming your name...”
“I don't know...”
“Please? Consider it. Here's my card. Call me tomorrow and we can make an appointment with you, me, Rachel Berry, and Quinn Fabray,” Kurt said.
“Quinn Fabray?”
“Yep...she's working on her album now. I hope this doesn't push you away but her and Rachel are girlfriends...”
“No! That's fine...I'm gay so I'm cool with everybody,” Blaine said.
“Great! They'll love you then,” Kurt said smiling. Blaine looked at him mystified and smiled.
“I'll talk to you tomorrow then!” Kurt said and walked away. Blaine watched him go and sighed. He would love to take this offer but did he really want that life? He went home thinking about it and walked into his shabby apartment. He put his guitar away and made his way to his bedroom. He looked around the dingy room and laid on his bed. He placed the card on the nightstand and sighed. He hated the little one bedroom apartment and if he took this offer he could make millions compared to the peanuts he made now.
End Notes: I know the song wasn't that good but I'm hoping to work on my song writing skills with this story...please comment and let me know what you think of them. Thanks!
