Author's Notes: A filler chapter somewhat...
When Kurt woke up he rolled over on the couch and reached over for his phone. When he picked it up he looked at the main screen. He had at least a dozen missed texts and calls. All of them were from Blaine. He sighed and looked at all of the texts. The events of last night hit him in the face and he remembered what Blaine had asked. He closed his eyes and then opened them to read on.

'Kurt, I'm so sorry...I wasn't thinking. Please talk to me?'

'I was so stupid to think you'd want to go out with me...please don't leave me...'

'I swear Kurt, I would never push you to do something you wouldn't want to...'

'It was too soon, I understand that now...but please can we at least talk?'

The last text was a 'I'm sorry' with a sad face at the end. Kurt smiled at how weird Blaine could be and sighed giving in. He dialed Blaine's number and waited for him to pick up. It was a Sunday so he should be home.

“'ello?” a sleep muffled voice said. Kurt sighed and started to talk.

“Blaine?”

“Kurt?” he asked sounding more awake.

“Yeah, it's me...”

“Oh, man, Kurt I am so sorry about last night...I wasn't thinking and I...”

“Blaine, stop.”

“Okay...” Blaine replied.

“You weren't thinking and you were right, it's too soon...but...I was thinking last night and...”

“Please don't tell me our Saturday night talks are done.”

Kurt couldn't help but smile and shake his head. The past few weeks at the bar with Blaine had really helped and he'd be damned if they were over.

“No, they're not. I'd like them to continue.”

“Good,” Blaine said with a sigh.

“I'd like to go out for dinner with you one night. I think we'd have a good time.”

“That's great! When? I get out of work on Friday at five.”

“Calm down!” Kurt said laughing. Blaine sounded like a five year old in a candy shop jumping around and smiling.

“I can do Friday at seven?” Kurt asked.

“That's good for me! Do you want to maybe meet up for a lunch today? I've got nothing better to do and...I'm overstepping aren't I?” Blaine asked sounding a little sadder.

“No, I'd like to meet up for lunch. Where?”

“My friend owns a little cafe nearby. We could go there?”

“Sure. What's the name and where can I find it?”

“It's called Bambino.”

Blaine gave him the location and they said their goodbyes. Kurt went to get ready and dressed. He wore black skinny jeans with a dark purple top and a pair of his boots. He walked out of his apartment and down the street to where the cafe would be. He spotted Blaine outside of the place dressed casually.

“Hey,” Kurt said walking up to him. Blaine turned and looked at him smiling.

“Hey! Look, I'm really sorry about last night...I should have known better,” Blaine said.

“It's okay...it turned out good anyway so let it go,” Kurt said.

“Okay...”

They walked in and ordered sandwiches and waited at the other counter for their food. They made small talk as they waited. Once they got their food they sat down and silently ate.

“Kurt?”

He looked up at Blaine and looked at him confused.

“Are you sure you want to go out? I just don't want you to feel like you have to because of my texts and calls...”

“I'm sure I want to go out...there's just no promises that anything is going to work out between us. If it doesn't work...I don't want to lose you,” Kurt said.

“You wouldn't. I understand you may need time and until then I'll be here, as a friend if you want,” Blaine replied as he took a bite of his sandwich. Kurt looked down at his own and sighed. He wanted to move on from Ryan but the memories and the pain were still too fresh. Blaine had just found out his first boyfriend had moved on from him and was due to be married. Kurt thought it had to have been the pain from finding that out but that seemed less likely as he looked into Blaine's golden eyes. He seemed sincere and Kurt truly hoped this friend would stick around after everything.

“Thank you, that means a lot,” Kurt replied smiling.

End Notes: Next chapter: Their first date! :)
