Kurt stood beside his father as they lowered Sebastian into the ground. With every inch Kurt felt his heart sinking into the ground with Sebastian. Why he kept his illness from Kurt for so long still baffled him. He would have been there for him he wouldn't have been so angry with him all of the time.

And like that it hit him like a ton of bricks.

Sebastian hadn't told him because he was hoping Kurt would do it on his own. He knew for months and never told Kurt. Because Kurt was getting ready to be on stage. Then the begging for Kurt to stay home more and take care of himself. The asking for him to take a break from Broadway for a few months and spend time together. Sebastian had done it on purpose. Kurt hadn't noticed the signs though and ignored him and chose to break up with him. The guilt washed over him like the rain that was threatening to spill upon them now.

He looked back to see Blaine standing behind the group of people that were gathered. As the casket lowered more and more people turned and walked away. Kurt watched as they would walk right through Blaine and then suddenly one bumped into him. Blaine looked at the person shocked but they apologized and walked on. His fathers gaze followed his and landed on Blaine. Kurt looked at him worried but Burt gave him a small smile.

“May I ask who he is and why he won't take his eyes off of you?” Burt asked as they turned and walked back to Blaine.

“He's a friend...I met him while fighting with Sebastian and we've hit it off. He's been there for me as we broke up and then...” Kurt ended the sentence unable to finish. It still hadn't sunk in that Sebastian was gone. And Kurt hated himself for what he had done to him. He'd started blaming himself since last week. Blaine had done everything to convince him he was not at fault for anything but it was still there. That cloud hovered over Kurt for the past week. Blaine reached out and Kurt laced his fingers with Blaine's.

“I hate saying it but isn't it a little too soon Kurt?”

“Sebastian and I have been separated for a while...”

“Are you sure you're ready to move into another relationship?”

“We're not...together officially. Just being there for each other,” Kurt said. It looked like Blaine wanted to say something but he shut up.

“It sure doesn't seem like it,” Burt replied crossing his arms.

“I've liked him for so long and didn't want to jump into something with Sebastian still around. I was going to respect it if they got together. I wanted to at least wait to ask him out. But Kurt, when I said I love you last week, I meant it. But as of right now, I'd rather be a friend and help you through this.”

Kurt felt his heart beat pick up sounding like a humming bird and he was happy with that. He held his hand tighter and smiled at Blaine. He looked over to see his father nodding approvingly to them.

“I meant it, too. Why don't we all take off? I really want to leave,” Kurt said. As they turned to leave his father spoke up.

“Didn't you have an imaginary friend named Blaine when you were younger?”

“Dad! Do not talk about that!” Kurt said laughing and looking into the golden eyes of Blaine Anderson knowing the truth.

A week later they were walking through the busy city streets as the wind whipped by them. Kurt hated the wind since it messed with his hair and the scarf he had on. They rounded the block and started down a less busy street. For once they weren't holding hands and Kurt hated it. They'd been skirting the edges with what they were. Blaine would change the subject when Kurt would try to bring it up.

Kurt pulled his scarf off to fix it but the wind caught it and took it away. He tried to catch it but it escaped his fingers and flew into the street. It landed on the ground and Blaine went after it.

“Blaine! I can get another!” Kurt said. He watched as Blaine grabbed it and smiled up at him. It all happened so fast, in a blur, and it felt like his world had stopped all over again. He could remember the screeching of tires as the car connected with Blaine and his screams that rang out for help.

He sat in the emergency room for hours waiting for anything on Blaine. He only had an ID, no license or anything. He didn't even have insurance and Kurt said he would get him on his and get the money for them. He was more worried about Blaine. Of course all they cared about was their pay check and not a life.

When a nurse finally came out to get him she led him down the halls and to a single room. He looked in expecting to see the worst. Blaine was in one of the hospital beds. Plain white sheets wrapped around him and he looked even tinier in the big bed. His left leg was in a cast and his head was wrapped too.

He walked in among the beeping sounds showing he was alive. Alive! Blaine was human...if he wasn't then he didn't know what he was. He sat next to Blaine and held his good hand in his hands. He waited a few more minutes before a doctor came into the room.

“I'm Doctor Cleary,” the woman said smiling at him kindly.

“Kurt Hummel,” he replied.

“Well, Kurt, Mr. Anderson here was very lucky. He suffered a broken leg, three broken ribs, and a concussion. The concussion isn't bad but it's not good either. Over all, he should make a full recovery and be in good condition,” she said.

“That's good. Thank you!” he said. She shook his hand and left them alone. He looked over at Blaine who had started to move.

“Take it easy,” Kurt said rubbing his thumb over Blaine's knuckles.

“Where am I?” he groaned.

“A hospital,” Kurt replied.

“Why? I don't get sick...”

“Well, apparently you do, well in this case injured. You have a broken leg, broken ribs, and a concussion.”

His hazel eyes opened all of the way and he looked at Kurt. Excitement was written all over his face with some discomfort. Kurt looked at him confused as he just stared at him.

“I'm human...” he whispered.

“What?” Kurt asked.

“I'm human! Imaginary's don't get sick, or injured, or any other human disability. I'm human!” Blaine said. Kurt looked at him still confused but it sunk in. Blaine was here to stay!

“You're here to stay...for good?” Kurt asked hesitantly. He was still worried about this answer but the future seemed brighter.

“I'm here for good...”

Kurt hugged him tightly as everything sank in. He pulled away and pressed his lips to Blaine's dry, chapped ones but he didn't care. He was in love and happy. He needed Blaine and he had him and they could finally do what they wanted.

“Be my boyfriend?” Kurt asked. If possible, Blaine's eyes lit up more and his smile grew.

“You're such a romantic...but yes. I will be your boyfriend,” Blaine replied. They kissed once more and Kurt couldn't contain the excitement that flowed through his veins. Things were looking up.

SEND HELP IM DROWNING IN MY TEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol! I'm all the way over here though! I promise mainly happy tears in the epilogue!

i cried at the beginning of this thinking blaine was going to go. im so thrilled that he isnt!

He will never go anywhere! :D

Yayyyy he is human! At the funeral though... thisKurt watched as they would walk right through Blaine and then suddenly one bumped into him. Blaine looked at the person shocked but they apologized and walked on.Did some walk throuhg him and at first or nobody walked through him at all and that's what shocked them?I'm so annoying with my thousands of questions huh lol but howw did he become human?

It's okay! When I read the novel this is based of off I got really confused in the beginning. Basically, Blaine is sort of transitioning into a human. He has his human moments and then his imaginary moments and finally the transition takes place and he is human. Blaine doesn't realize he's becoming human and doesn't really dwell on it like he should. You should read the novel this is based off of, James Patterson details better. Lol.
