Author's Notes: Sorry for the late update but I'm uploading this chapter and chapter 5 tonight! :) Thanks for reading!
November arrived quicker than Blaine was ready for. It would be Thanksgiving the next day. He was nervous because he had planned on talking to his parents today. He didn't want to go back but he had to, for her. He sent her the simple text message he had sent Kurt years ago. Kurt had insisted on coming with him and Blaire and telling Blaine's parents that they were getting married. They met Blaire a block away from their parents’ house and drove Blaire the rest of the way. Blaine tensed up as they pulled into the drive way. He hadn't been here in over a month but could still remember the day clearly.
“Are you sure you want to do this Blaine? You don't have to. I can face them on my own, especially dad,” Blaire said.
“I'm okay. I will be. Plus Kurt is with us,” he replied.
“Yeah but he threa-”
“We'll be fine, nothing is going to happen. He can try but he won't succeed.”
“What was that about?” Kurt asked.
“He doesn't know the whole conversation dad had with you?” Blaire asked.
“No.”
“Blaine? What does she mean?”
“My dad threatened to hurt you if he ever saw you. I won't let that happen though. If he tries anything he'll regret it,” Blaine said. Kurt grabbed his hand then and looked at him worried.
“It'll be okay though. He won't hurt anybody.”
“I hope so, Kurt,” he said.
They got out of the car and walked up to the front door. Blaire rang the doorbell and their mom answered a few seconds later. She started crying when she saw Blaine. She put her hand to her mouth and smiled. She stepped out onto the porch and hugged him.
“I've missed you so much Blaine,” she said. She saw Kurt and hugged him tightly.
“I thought you weren't coming back?” she asked.
“I'm here for Blaire. She wants to talk to you two,” Blaine said. Blaire looked down and away from her mom. Kurt went to her and squeezed her hand. She looked up at him and smiled.
“Let's go inside. It's too cold out here,” their mom said. She led them into the main parlor. Blaine's dad sat there with a newspaper and looked up to see Blaine. Startled to see the thing he once called his son, he jumped up.
“What do you want?” he said glaring at Kurt and Blaine.
“We're here with Blaire. She wants to talk to you,” Kurt said. Blaine had pretty much frozen in place when his dad got up. He kept watching his father in case he tried anything.
“Robert, please sit down honey. You three can sit too,” their mom said.
Kurt sat on one side of Blaire holding her hand and Blaine sat on the other side of her. Their father looked at her questioningly.
“You better not be pregnant with Leon's child. You should be married to your boyfriend before you even decide on having kids,” Robert said.
“Dad, I'm not pregnant.”
“Then what is it?”
She looked scared and then at Kurt.
“I can't,” she said simply.
“Yes you can. Come on,” he replied to her.
“Courage,” Blaine whispered into her ear.
“Dad...I need to tell you something really important. I haven't been able to though because I'm so afraid. I didn't know how to tell you and now thanks to these two guys I can,” she said. Their father's gaze hardened even more.
“Dad, I'm bisexual. I have a girlfriend right now. We started dating after me and Leon broke up. It's been two years now that I've been with her,” Blaire said slowly and cautiously.
“Cassandra, how could you raise such children! They're nothing now! They're a humiliation! I expected better of you, Blaire! After your brother decided to do what he does now I expected you to be a lot better!”
“Dad, I could still end up with a guy! Right now I'm with a girl and you have to accept it!”
“No! You people are a disgrace and I want nothing to do with your life style!”
“Your daughter came here hoping to find a father who accepted her and loved her still. Now you call her a humiliation along with your son? You don't deserve children at all!” Kurt yelled at Robert.
“You have no right to speak to me that way,” Robert said standing up and coming towards Kurt. Kurt stood his ground as the significantly larger man moved towards him.
“By the way, your son asked me to marry him and I proudly said yes!” Kurt told him. At that statement Robert lunged forward and back-handed Kurt. Kurt stumbled backwards but held his ground. His hand flew to his cheek that now stung. Blaine jumped up and swung out at his father. Blaire got up and went to Kurt who still held his ground and eye contact with Robert.
“You have no right to touch Kurt at all. I'm done with you and I hope Blaire is too. We're done here,” Blaine said. He grabbed Kurt gently and started to leave.
“Blaine! Blaine come back! I'm so sorry! Please don't leave,” Cassandra said, starting to cry. Blaine turned to her.
“No. Just stop it. I'm done. Don't bother. I'm never coming back.”
“I'm not coming back either. He hurt my baby brother and now Kurt. I won't come back. I don't feel welcome,” Blaire added. Cassandra couldn't stop crying and fell down in the threshold of the foyer. They walked out leaving her there. Blaine felt awful for it, but he would not stay in that house anymore. Kurt was still shocked, both from the fact that Blaine had just left his family, and from the sting he still felt on his cheek. When they had reached the car Blaine turned to Kurt.
“Are you okay?” he simply asked.
Kurt nodded to him and put his head on Blaine's shoulder. Blaire had a hand on Kurt's back and Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt and kissed him on the head. Blaine looked at his cheek. It was red and he could see a slight bruise beginning to form.
“I'm so, so sorry about that. I wish he had hit me and not you. You don't know how much that hurt me,” Blaine said. Kurt shook his head.
“No. It's okay. I would have snapped if it had been you. Not that you didn't snap but I would have probably done worse,” Kurt said. Kurt turned to Blaire and took her hand.
“Are you okay?”
“Better than ever. I'm out and I don't care if he likes it or not. There was no reason for him to do what he did. Thank you. You don't know how much it meant that you two were by my side sticking up for me,” she replied. Kurt hugged her tightly and smiled.
“Let's go home. We have dinner plans tomorrow with my family at our apartment and you two are invited also,” Kurt said. Blaine leaned back against the Escalade and smiled. Kurt and Blaire were like brother and sister already. He knew Kurt cared a lot for her.
“Sounds good. Thanks Kurt,” she said smiling. She got into the backseat of the car. Blaine took Kurt's keys from his hands when he didn't expect it. Kurt tried to snatch them back but Blaine had them in his coat pocket already.
“I'll drive home this time,” he simply said. Kurt gave him that look he always did when things didn't go his way. Blaine just smiled at him and opened the passenger door for him. Kurt was able to get the keys from Blaine's pocket and ran for the driver's side. Kurt winked and got in. Blaine got in the car and stared at him with disbelief.
“Really Kurt?” he asked. Kurt laughed and started the car.
“I win. And we both know what it does to you when I win,” Kurt said smiling at him. Blaine turned away smiling. Yeah they did know what winning did to him but with Blaire in the back seat Blaine would have to let Kurt know later on.
“Save it for when you're alone you two,” Blaire said from the backseat. Blaine just ignored her and grabbed Kurt's free hand. Tonight didn't go as they planned but it went better than it probably could have and he was thankful for that. Things hadn't gone the way they wanted at all these past few days but everything was looking up. Tomorrow was Thanksgiving, they were engaged, and they planned on telling Kurt's family tomorrow. Blaine had the perfect and the best boyfriend, scratch that, fianc, anybody could ask for and that's all he would ever need. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, falling asleep on the ride home.
End Notes: I don't like Blaine's dad...I love this chapter though. What do you guys think?
