Author's Notes: So sorry about this being late! College got really busy and hectic and me and Jenna had no time. However, here is Chapter 3 and we'll hopefully have Chapter 4 up soon! :) Thanks for reading!
Kurt walked into the apartment with a smile on his face as usual. Blaine never got tired of it. Kurt walked over and gave him a kiss, then proceeded into the kitchen. Blaine had everything in the oven to keep it warm; the wine already poured. Kurt was surprised and turned around to look at Blaine.
“What's this?” he asked. Blaine chuckled and put his arms around Kurt.
“This is dinner for the two of us tonight. I just want to thank you for everything you've done for me. You saved me years ago, and yesterday you did it again. I had to do something special for you.”
“No, you didn't,” Kurt said. Hearing this, Blaine leaned in and kissed Kurt's neck, smiling against the soft skin located there.
“You love it,” Blaine whispered against Kurt’s neck. Leaning back, he pulled the chair from the table for Kurt. Still in a bit of a haze from the kiss, Kurt smiled and gently sat down.
“I'll be right back,” Blaine said suddenly. He ran to the guest bedroom and went into the closet to get his hidden duffel bag. He opened it and dug through it. Upon finding the little black box on the bottom of the bag, Blaine opened it. Inside was a silver ring that had 'Courage' carved on the inside of the band. The ring was attached to a chain so Kurt could wear it around his neck until they actually married. Blaine took a deep breath, closed the box, and walked, as steadily as possible, back towards the kitchen, slipping the box into his jacket pocket before reaching Kurt’s gaze.
“Let's eat,” Blaine said. He was all nerves at this point. He hoped tonight would be everything Kurt ever wanted.
“So how was work?” Blaine asked taking a sip of the wine.
“Same as usual; practicing and more practicing. Rachel decided she wanted things her way and Blaire was not happy about it at all. I warned her about Rachel but she said she could handle her. Blaire was furious when Rachel would stop and say something wasn't right,” Kurt said. Blaine smiled at that.
“Typical Rachel.”
“Oh yeah. Also, there's some minor parts available if you want to try.”
“I'm going to that school tomorrow. I made an appointment to meet with the superintendent to discuss a job.”
“That's great! I'm so happy for you,” Kurt said. Blaine smiled and reached his hand across the table to take Kurt's. Just being there with him was all he could ever ask for.
“Kurt...can I ask you something?”
Kurt's smile faded and he looked worried.
“Is everything okay?”
“Everything is fine, don't worry.”
Rising to his feet, Blaine walked towards a very puzzled looking Kurt.
“Kurt, these past four years with you have been heaven. I don't want it any other way. After what's happened to us...from the bullying to what happened with my parents. You're so strong and I love you for that and you've made me stronger too. People fall in love with a person, not a gender, and I fell in love with you,” Blaine said. Kurt's smile came back, and Blaine was so happy and relieved at the simple expression. He got down on one knee and looked up at Kurt. He pulled the little box out and looked at it as Kurt gasped.
“Kurt Elizabeth Hummel...will you marry me?” Blaine asked. Blaine watched intently as Kurt’s eyes flickered from shock to a tearful happy.
“Yes!” Kurt flung himself at Blaine and hugged him tightly. Blaine started crying while holding Kurt. Kurt let him go and put a hand on Blaine's face. Blaine opened the box and pulled out the chain with the ring on it. He put it around Kurt's neck and smiled. Kurt kissed him at that moment.
“I love you so much Blaine. I can't wait to start forever with you,” Kurt said.
“We already have. Four years ago we started, from the first time I laid eyes on you on Dalton’s spiral staircase, to our first kiss, to our prom night, to forever,” Blaine said. He wrapped his arms around Kurt and smiled to himself. He had everything he'd ever need right here and didn't want it to change. After what seemed like too short a time, the unlocked their embrace and proceeded to clean up the kitchen. Once finished, they meandered into the living room. Reaching out towards Kurt, Blaine grabbed Kurt’s hand and pulled him into a slow kiss. Kurt returned the kiss and smiled. Grabbing Blaine’s hand, Kurt led them to their bedroom where the kissing picked up a bit more fervently and they fell onto the bed entwined.
Blaine woke up the next morning only to find his arms were wrapped around Kurt and his head on Kurt's chest. The ring was on the chain that still remained around Kurt's neck. He smiled and stayed there. He didn't want to move at all. Kurt had today off so a lazy day was in order for them. Kurt stirred beneath him and he looked up at his face. Kurt was smiling in his sleep. These were Blaine’s favorite moments; waking up before Kurt was the best time to just admire his boyfriend’s, no, fianc’s angelic face. Slipping as lightly as possible from Kurt’s body, he got out of the bed. It was a chilly morning so he pulled the covers up over Kurt's exposed chest. He got dressed and kissed Kurt's forehead before walking down to the kitchen.
Upon entering, Blaine went to the pantry and retrieved the pancake mix. Getting the rest of the ingredients from the refrigerator, he began to whip up a batch of blueberry pancakes. While flipping the pancakes on the griddle his mind began to drift. He just couldn't get last night off his mind. Everything about it was perfect. He could live like this forever, which now he was able to do. When he finished with the pancakes and set the table up he went into the bedroom. Kurt was rolled over on his side away from Blaine. Blaine leaned across the bed and kissed Kurt's cheek.
“Time to wake up,” Blaine said to him. He shook him a little bit and Kurt's blue eyes turned to him. Kurt stretched and turned over.
“Good morning baby,” Kurt said.
“Good morning. Let's go, get up, I made breakfast. Blueberry pancakes, my specialty,” Blaine said laughing. Kurt smiled and sat up.
“I'm going to shower first. I feel filthy,” Kurt said to him.
“Oh come on. You’re not dirty at all!” Blaine said. Kurt shook his head. He went to Blaine and put his arms around Blaine's neck.
“Why don't you join me?” Kurt asked.
“I could do that...but I’ll have to think about it first,” he replied.
“Goof,” Kurt said hitting Blaine on his chest lightly.
“I guess I could join you,” Blaine said smiling.
“Mmm. Good,” Kurt replied contently.
Blaine sensed that they may be getting dirty before actually getting clean.
● ● ●
“Oh, Mmmm, God, Blaine!”
Blaine blushed as his fianc made nearly the same noises and faces as he just did a few minutes ago in the shower, but this time because of pancakes and not Blaine.
“I’m glad you’re enjoying those, babe!” Blaine somewhat snickered out.
“Mmmhmm, they are delicious,” replied Kurt, not picking up on Blaine’s amusement. “So what are we going to do today besides eat these?”
“Well, I was thinking movie day?” answered Blaine.
“Yes!” Kurt all but squealed.
Once Kurt had finished stuffing his face with more pancakes, they both moved to the living room and began picking out DVD’s for their movie marathon. Kurt’s selections included musicals ranging from Funny Girl to Burlesque to Chicago. Meanwhile, Blaine’s choices were focused on the many Disney movies that filled the cabinets; The Lion King, Beauty and The Beast, Mulan, and the movie that they were currently falling asleep to – Aladdin. They both began to drift off, the chorus of A Whole New World ghosting their lips.
End Notes: Again, sorry about the late update! Thanks again for reading! Please review and let us know what you think about the story so far! :)
