Kurt rolled over in his bed smacking into a body next to his. He looked up expecting Cooper but he saw the gentle face of Blaine. He smiled and remembered he had gotten this perfect person back in his life. Kurt moved closer and pressed a kiss to his jaw. He shuffled off the bed and threw his sweatpants on and grabbed his phone. He knew Rachel would be gone today so he walked out without a shirt on. When he hit the kitchen his phone started buzzing.
“Hi,” he said as he put it to his ear.
“You wanted to meet at the coffee shop today?” Cooper's rough voice asked.
“Yeah...I need to talk to you...”
“Why don't I come over to your place. You said Rachel would be gone today and I'm off. We could spend a day in today.”
Kurt's heart stopped beating and he froze in his spot.
“Um...the place is a mess and I couldn't have you over with it in the condition it's in,” Kurt rambled out.
“I'm sure it's fine. I'm actually on my way to your place now...I'm about half way there,” Cooper said. Kurt's jaw dropped and he tried to focus on getting into his bedroom to get Blaine up.
“Okay...Um...I'll see you soon then.”
Kurt hit end on the call and threw his phone on the couch and ran to his bedroom. He jumped on his bed and shook Blaine awake. Blaine startled and sat up quickly grabbing Kurt's arms.
“Get out...Cooper is on his way! Get out!”
“What?”
“Get up...get dressed...and get out! Cooper is half way here. He cannot find you here!” Kurt yelled. Blaine got out of bed, tripping over the sheets as he went, and fell flat on his face. Kurt cracked up laughing and got off to help him up. Blaine was never a morning person. Blaine was smiling like a goof and got dressed fairly quickly.
“Okay...look. He normally takes the main elevator. Take the side steps out and you shouldn't run into him...”
A knock sounded on the front door and he groaned.
“Shit...” Blaine said.
“Guest bedroom! Now!” he said ushering Blaine out and into the room across from his.
“I don't know how long he'll be here but I'll do my best to get him out early and make sure you're okay...” Kurt said and then closed the guest room door and locking it. He went into his bedroom and fixed the bed sheets and picked up the one sock Blaine had stupidly forgotten. He threw it in his closet and made his way to the front door. He opened it to see a grinning Cooper with a dozen roses.
“Hi, love,” Cooper said happily. Kurt forced a smile and let him in. He shut the door slowly and turned to Cooper.
“I thought the place was a wreck?”
“I got everything sorted and put away. It was mainly Rachel's stuff. You know she can be a slob sometimes.”
“Yeah, so I've heard. So how was your night?”
“It was good,” he replied looking down. Cooper held the roses out to him and he took them smiling.
“Thank you,” Kurt said. He walked into the kitchen to get a vase for them.
“So...you wanted to talk?” Cooper asked. He stared at the roses and realized why Cooper had gotten them. They were an apology...a ploy for him to suck up to Kurt. Kurt put them in the vase and turned to face him. He wrung his hands together and looked at Cooper nervously.
“I want to talk about yesterday...”
“What about it?” Cooper asked putting his hands in his pockets.
“You hit me...”
“I know...and I don't know why...I'm very, very sorry though Kurt. I would never, ever intentionally hurt you. I love you,” Cooper said.
“Cooper, you never mean to do anything to me anymore but you still do it. I'm done,” Kurt said taking the necklace from around his neck and holding it out. Cooper looked at him in disbelief. Cooper walked towards him taking the ring and standing in front of Kurt and looking at it. Kurt couldn't tell what look was present in Cooper's eyes but it wasn't good.
