When his laptop made the ringing noise to signify a call on Skype he jumped from the couch and to the floor. He hit the answer button and waited. In two seconds Blaine's face popped up.
“Hi,” Blaine said smiling.
“Hi.”
“You said you wanted to talk about something?”
“Yeah...something happened the day I left Ohio...”
“What?” Blaine asked worried.
“Cooper gave me a promise ring...” Kurt said pulling it from under his shirt to show Blaine. Blaine looked at him blankly and he saw the pain forming in his eyes.
“Wow...”
“Yeah.”
“I'm going to say you took it and didn't tell him the truth...” Blaine said.
“Blaine...this is hard... I can't do it. I'm not even with him right now. It'd be over the phone or Skype to end it. That's not fair,” Kurt said.
“It's better you're not with him to tell him. His anger is unbelievable sometimes. Also, what's not fair is you took that ring and you're still willing to cheat on him. Why are you leading him on still?” Blaine asked.
“I've been with him for months and I'm just like the past guys. He's been hurt so much that he deserves something good for once,” Kurt said.
“And, you are not giving him that. So, you want to end us?” Blaine asked.
“Look, I'm not the only party in this. You were willing to do this too! And no, not at all! Rachel is encouraging that I leave him and choose you though,” he said shrugging.
“And what's wrong with that?”
“Nothing!”
“I actually wanted to tell you something tonight but forget it,” Blaine said sitting back in his desk chair.
“Tell me...” Kurt said encouragingly.
“I got my letter...”
“And?”
“I got accepted. I'll be there in the fall.”
“Blaine! That's great! I'm so proud of you!”
“Thanks...I guess. I want you to be proud but it seems like I'm not your main concern right now and that ring proves it,” Blaine said pointing to Kurt's neck. Kurt swallowed and looked down at the ring he was holding between his fingers.
“Blaine don't do this...” Kurt pleaded. Blaine looked at him sadly and looked away.
“It's me or him Kurt...I'm serious. I need to know. I know this question has been on our minds for a while and somebody needed to say it out loud,” Blaine said. Here it was. This was what he had been waiting for. The question that had been on his mind the whole time. He was always wondering when it would be said and here it was and he had no answer. Everything in him stopped and he looked into the eyes that were averting his. Those eyes were one of his favorite things about Blaine. They drew him in all of the time and twisted his heart in all ways when they looked hurt.
“I don't need the answer now,” Blaine said ending the call. Kurt stared blankly at the screen when there was a knock on the door. Rachel walked past him hurriedly and opened it up slowly. He didn't know who it was until arms wrapped around him pulling him to his feet. He looked up and into the eyes of Cooper.
“What the hell?” he asked stunned. Cooper was grinning down at him and kissed him sweetly.
“I was going to call but I wanted to surprise you,” Cooper said. Kurt still stared stunned at him until he went on.
“The company wanted two of us to come out here to work on a deal with a merger and to take care of the office. I offered to come out here because then I get to be with you. They paid for my apartment and car too!”
“Cooper...tha-that's gr-great,” Kurt stuttered out. He felt the tears slide down his cheeks and Cooper wrapped him back up into a hug. This was not happening.
“I want you to move in with me.”
“What?”
“I want you to move into my apartment with me,” Cooper said excitedly.
“Cooper...I have to help Rachel with this one...I don't know...” he said. Cooper looked at him sadly and nodded.
“Well, could you stay over some nights?” Cooper asked.
“Of course!” he replied. Cooper kissed him excitedly and Kurt felt the spark that had once been there that had died. It was there and he didn't understand what brought it back but he wanted Cooper. Maybe it was because Blaine had finally given him the ultimatum. He sighed and put his arms around Cooper's neck and kissed him back happily.
“Great! So...since it's a Friday you should definitely stay over,” Cooper said with a low voice.
“Hmm...sounds good,” he said smiling into another kiss. He got a small bag packed and left holding Cooper's hand. Rachel said bye and when he turned to look at her he saw her angry, disapproving face. He turned and ignored it. It seemed pretty clear that Blaine had decided he was going to end it and Kurt just wanted to forget it for the night.
Comments
Good chapter. Lots of info going on here. Poor heart broken blainers, I'm looking forward to how cooper being in nyc effects kurt and rachels relationship.
I didn't think about him and Rachel but I could definitely put some stuff in there and I even have an idea now! :D
WTF NOO! Ugh Cooper in NY and the spark is back :/. I was mad at Rachel at first but she was right Kurt should leave Cooper and give his life to Blaine. I liked this whole situation at first but now Kurt is really starting to make me mad. He wants both and at first it was sneaky and fun (probably) but now he thinks it can just go his way. Blaine is better and I want to say when he finally realizes it it will be to late BUT naww Blaine may give him that ultimatum but he would wait for him.
You are an amazing person...lol!
