Blaine, Erica, and Kurt decided to travel to New Jersey. Erica's witch lived there and Blaine needed a new ring to help protect him from the sun. Erica traveled ahead of them to get it done and Kurt stayed with him in central Pennsylvania for the day and then they would leave at night. They sat in silence the whole time and Blaine barely talked to him. He was thankful for the two beds in the hotel room. He didn't know why Blaine was quiet but he didn't want to make Blaine any grumpier.

Kurt laid down and turned away from him. Shortly after the presence of another body fell on the bed beside him. Blaine's arm wrapped around his waist and a kiss was placed behind his ear.

“Are you okay?” Blaine asked concerned.

“Fine,” Kurt mumbled. Blaine sighed and held him closer.

“I know I'm being an ass and I'm sorry...”

“Stop.”

“You don't know how hard it is to hear one of your creations has been killed. It happened before to me and it was because of Sebastian,” Blaine said. Kurt moved quickly from Blaine's side and stood against the wall.

“And I killed him so he wouldn't be able to do it again. So he wouldn't be able to kill one of us!” Kurt said aggravated. Blaine closed his eyes and got up off the bed.

“It doesn't matter!”

“Why can't you let it go? We were separated for how long? And then you severed our bond! I just want to be in your arms but you won't let go of that..that jackass! And you're acting like one right now too!” Kurt hissed. When he realized what he said he looked at Blaine worried about his next words.

“Because Kurt! At one point I loved him! Not as much as you but I did! Even before you came into my life and me and him were separated I still loved him a little. I always will...” Blaine said. Kurt could see the hurt flash in Blaine's eyes and it hurt him even more. He had never uttered those words to Blaine and the pain he felt was how Kurt was feeling now. It felt as if his heart had actually stopped beating, despite its rapid pace. Blaine looked at him sadly and looked down.

“I'll sleep on the other bed...” Blaine said turning away. Kurt wanted him to lay with him but right now both their wounds were still healing over. Kurt left the room to go let out some frustration. He managed to find a human being. Some one who was happy and had just left their girlfriend. He didn't understand why but Kurt attacked him and dragged him into the nearby woods. He drank and left the body where it fell. He looked down and hissed frustrated. For the first time in his existence he was happy Blaine couldn't come after him.

He ran and found a river and sat by it. He looked across it and sighed. Why did this hurt so much? He knew he wasn't the only person in Blaine's life that he loved. Hell, Blaine still, and always will, loved Erica but Kurt never questioned him on that. They were married now and he trusted Blaine. But this hurt differently.

“Even after what Sebastian did to us...to him and me separately...he loves him.”

“Not as much as you though...”

Kurt jumped up and turned around startled. There stood a smirking Erica. Kurt growled and sat back down facing the river.

“Kurt? What happened?”

“Why aren't you in Jersey?” he asked.

“I was...she said it'll be ready tomorrow night.”

“Good...I want to get back to Dalton. Pack. And go to Paris.”

“Why?”

“I just want away from America for a while. We've been here all fifty years. I want to travel.”

“I see...does he know?”

“No. He'd only tell me not to go.”

“Kurt...why are you two fighting?”

“Sebastian...he's still saying how hard it is to lose a creation...even after all Sebastian did! Then he says he'll always love Sebastian...always did,” Kurt said.

“Yes...he will. There's a bond between a creator and his creation that exists. It's not as strong as yours and his but it's there. If you created someone...then you'd know how it feels. That feeling you had when you couldn't feel Blaine's bond to you...is almost the same. It's not as strong but the feeling is there. Blaine's lost one creation already because of Sebastian and now he's lost another. You're the only one alive. And since you're bonded he won't create someone because he has you,” Erica said. Now Kurt felt like more of an ass. He felt the tears slide down his cheeks and Erica wrapped her arms around him.

“Kurt?”

“Yes?” he mumbled out.

“Go back and see him and apologize. You two shouldn't be doing this. You two weren't made to fight.”

“I can't...he won't forgive me.”

“Yes he will! Don't ever think he's going to leave you or never forgive you!”

“Why should he? I called him a jackass...” Kurt said. Erica held him tighter and he felt her shake. He looked up to see her laughing.

“What?” he hissed annoyed.

“Well, he can be a jackass. Don't worry about it.”

Kurt sighed and looked back out at the river. He got up slowly with Erica.

“The Susquehanna River...this branch is the more beautiful part of it. The eastern part is disgusting,” she said nonchalantly.

“Not as beautiful as Blaine...” he whispered. They made their way back to the hotel room. When they walked in Blaine wasn't on the bed. Kurt looked around frantic and saw Blaine was curled up in the corner of the room by the other bed. Kurt felt his heart shatter at the lost look in his eyes. He realized with a jolt that their bond was gone. How had he not noticed?

“Our bond is gone...” Kurt whispered.

“Because, you haven't done...you know...I'm going to go now! See you boys tomorrow!” she said and left. She closed the door and he turned to lock it. Kurt turned around and went over to Blaine slowly. He knelt down in front of him and put a hand to the side of his face. Blaine looked up at him and Kurt saw the tear tracks streaming down his face.

“I'm so sorry,” Kurt said pulling him into his arms.

“I was a complete asshole to you and I feel awful,” Kurt said. Blaine's arms wound around him and Blaine took in his scent.

“I'm sorry too...I was no better myself. When I felt the bond was gone I thought you had severed it yourself.” Blaine said. Kurt pulled back looking into his eyes. He was captivated by them and kissed Blaine longingly. Blaine held him tighter and stood up slowly not breaking the kiss.

“Never...I could never do that to you,” Kurt said when they stopped kissing.

“I will never sever our bond...” Blaine said placing Kurt on the bed. Kurt kissed him passionately thankful that Erica had left.
