Kurt had everything set up out on the patio the next night. He was waiting for Blaine to show up now. He tucked his hands into his jeans pockets and took a deep breath. He was screwed if this didn't work. He wanted Blaine back, he truly did. If they were going to work out he didn't know. He wanted to run a hand through his hair but he couldn't. He ran in the house as the doorbell rang and opened the door slowly.

“Hey,” Kurt said opening the door for him to walk in. Blaine had a pair of jeans on with a simple dark blue top. Kurt smiled at him and then closed the door. 

“Hi...you wanted to talk?”

“More than that. I think I owe you...” Kurt replied walking out to the patio. Blaine followed closely behind him. When he stepped onto the patio he opened the bottle of champagne he'd been chilling. He poured two glasses and turned to Blaine.

“You've tried for so long to get me to let you back in. I want to, believe me, I do. It's scary though. You saved me from Leo but yet you walked away and hurt me more than he ever did...but...I can't hate you anymore for what you did. I need to make things right.”

Kurt walked over to the bench he had his mom's guitar sitting against and sat down. He started to play the opening chords to the song.

“An empty room can be so deafening, the silence makes you wanna scream, it drives you crazy. I chased away the shadows of your name, and burned the picture in a frame, but it couldn't save me. And how could we quit something we never even tried, well you still can't tell me why.”

He saw the hurt resurfacing in Blaine's eyes. It was the look he'd seen when he told Blaine to go. Kurt went on with the song, hoping it more to be a song of forgiveness and need than settling the fact that they were done and over with.

“We built it up, to watch it fall. Like we meant nothing at all. I gave and gave the best of me, but couldn't give you what you need. You walked away, you stole my life, just to find what you're looking for. But no matter how I try, I can't hate you anymore...I can't hate you anymore...” Kurt sang. Blaine moved closer to him and worried his lower lip.

“You're not the person that you used to be, the one I want who wanted me, and that's a shame. But there's only so many tears that you can cry, before it drains the light right from your eyes, and I can't go on that way. And so I'm letting go of everything we were, it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.”

The finality in the words killed him but he wasn't trying to push Blaine away. He was trying to get him back. He wanted him back so damn bad it hurt. He hoped Blaine still cared enough after Kurt's attempts at pushing him away.

“We built it up, to watch it fall. Like we meant nothing at all. I gave and gave the best of me, but couldn't give you what you need. You walked away, you stole my life, just to find what you're looking for. But no matter how I try, I can't hate you anymore...I can't hate you anymore...” Kurt sang as Blaine joined in too. He was surprised but it was Blaine. Blaine always surprised him.

“Sometimes you hold so tight, it slips right through your hands. Will I ever understand? We built it up, to watch it fall. Like we meant nothing at all. I gave and gave the best of me, but couldn't give you what you need. You walked away, you stole my life, just to find what you're looking for. But no matter how I try, I can't hate you anymore,” Kurt sang as he stood up. Blaine put his glass down and Kurt stopped playing. He set the guitar down and looked at Blaine worried.

The next thing that happened surprised him but it was welcome. Blaine's soft lips were pressed to his, needing the kiss more than anything. Kurt returned the kiss, desperate. When he pulled away he caught his breath and smiled.

“The way your face scrunches when you smile, the way you eyes light up as you talk, I miss it. The way you kiss me, the way you hold my hand, i miss it. The way your hips sway as you walk, the way you hold me in your arms, I miss it. The way you laugh, the way you say I love you, I miss it. Most of all I miss you,” Kurt sang lowly to Blaine. He didn't realize he was crying until Blaine was wiping the tears away. Kurt smiled and pressed his lips to Blaine's. When they separated he saw Blaine was crying. He used a thumb to wipe away one of the falling tears.

“I love you...” Blaine said. The words made Kurt freeze up but he couldn't deny it.

“I love you, too, Blaine. More than I should and I should hate you but I can't. It's not possible for me to,” Kurt said.

“You should hate me. I've done so much to not deserve you.”

“I forgive you though. Blaine, I need you in my life. You're my world...”

“Everything I do from here on out will be for you and for us. It's no longer just me and I need to fix everything I broke.”

“Is there an us?” Kurt asked.

“If you want there to be us again, then yes.”

“Yes...I want this back. Please, don't let me down again,” Kurt said. Blaine smiled and nodded eagerly. 

“I won't. I promise, it's you here on out,” Blaine said smiling and kissing him. Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine and they stayed there contently, even after they stopped kissing. They moved into the house with their champagne and laid on the couch together. Blaine was holding him tightly and kept kissing his head. 

The next thing he knew a blanket was being draped over him. He opened his eyes sleepily. His head had been resting on Blaine's chest and he laid it back down there listening to the steady beating of his heart. He looked up at a smiling Quinn who winked at him. He rolled his eyes and looked up at Blaine and saw him peacefully asleep. Kurt smiled and laid his head back down and closed his eyes.
