Author's Notes:

Here's the beginning of the sequel to Our Love Song! Thanks for reading!

Blaine's career had taken off in the past year. His album hit number one for a week and it was still selling leaving him in the top thirty for a few weeks now. He'd won awards at little music awards and his fan base kept growing. Kurt couldn't have been happier with how things were going. He noticed one thing though that was getting to him. Blaine was back to drinking. It wasn't a lot like it used to be but he was still drinking. Kurt would brush it off and just make sure he didn't have too much.

Kurt was folding laundry and putting it away when arms wrapped around his waist. He stood up and turned around into the arms. Blaine's hazel eyes were looking into his blue ones with contained excitement.

“What?” Kurt asked.

“I got a huge offer from a major recording company.”

Kurt felt his heart and breathing stop as he pulled away from Blaine. The subtle changes in Blaine had appeared over the last few months as his career started taking off and after performing at the New Year's Eve bash. And now this was topping it off.

“That's great!”

“That's it?”

“What do you want me to say?” Kurt asked turning back to the laundry.

“Ask me if I took the offer...?” Blaine replied matter of factly. Kurt dropped the clothes he was holding and turned back to Blaine. Feeling his heart drop into his stomach worried about what was coming up next.

“Why would I ask that?”

“Because...I thought you'd be happy.”

“I am...but...aren't you staying here? With us? With me?”

“I took the offer.”

“Why? Why would you do that?!”

“Because! This is huge, Kurt! You have no idea! It's something I've wanted to happen for so long now. Come on! Be happy for me!”

“I can't.”

“Why?” Blaine asked sounding hurt.

“You didn't even bother to talk to me...”

“Oh, so now I have to make sure everything is okay with you before I do it? I'm an adult, Kurt!”

“You're not acting like one! Blaine, we're in a relationship! I should know about things before you decide! This affects both of us! Stop always thinking about yourself!” Kurt yelled walking out of the bedroom. He heard Blaine follow him out into the living room.

“This could further your career! I'm not the only one who could benefit.”

“But you are!”

“How?”

“You took it and didn't bother to talk to me and better yet...you got the offer not me! I'm not the one who's going to benefit, Blaine! Think for once will you!”

“I do! I've done nothing but put you first!”

“That's a lie, Blaine! I've done nothing but put you first and you've never thanked me!”

“Now who's lying?”

“Get away from me,” Kurt scowled and walked away. He went into their bedroom and closed the door and latched it. He moved over to the bed and sat down feeling the hot tears fall down his cheeks. Blaine kept trying the door and trying to get into the room asking to let him in. Finally, he let him in and Blaine hugged him closely.

“I'm sorry...” Blaine said. Kurt didn't say anything just kept holding Blaine while he could. The ring on Kurt's finger felt like it weighed a ton as Blaine pulled away.

“I wasn't thinking...but...I really want this Kurt. This is my big break! This is where I could become so much more! So come on, come out to California with me.”

Kurt looked into his eyes and closed his own. He moved away and shook his head.

“I can't...you didn't bother to talk to me and you made this decision without me. I thought you'd stay with us here and record another CD with us...”

“Here we go...everything is about you and Rachel and your little company...Kurt it's going downhill! Your last protege left you! Joanna walked away and didn't look back because she got it better and realized she could do better!”

“Is that how you really feel? You think you can do better out there and just leave us behind? Are you going to walk away from me like she did?”

“I told you to join me!”

“No! If you wanted me you'd stay here with this company.”

“I have millions of dollars waiting for me in California...”

“The money is what you wanted all along right?”

“No, Kurt...I love you, so much...”

“If you loved me you'd put us first and not yourself,” Kurt said as he took the ring off his finger. He walked over to Blaine and opened his hand up. He placed the ring in the palm of Blaine's hand and wrapped his hand over it.

“Have fun in California. You have two hours to get all of your stuff and get out. If I find anything of mine missing I will find you,” he said walking out of the bedroom and the apartment to think.

End Notes:

So? What do you think so far?
