Chapter 35: We’re Screwed...

They were in Westerville, for the Warbler’s sectionals, they weren’t only there to support their friends, but also scope out the competition. The judges of course, made no sense at all, as per usual and the other two acts before them were strange again, as per usual. They hadn’t seen the Warbler’s they them to stay focus and do how they would do without them noticing them there and trying harder than usual.

Blaine sighed squeezing his hand. Kurt looked over at him “Are you okay?”

He nodded “Yeah, I’m fine...it’s just, the first time I’m seeing them perform without me.”

Kurt squeezed his hand “I know, it’s okay. It’ll be exciting to see who they picked as the lead Warbler now though.” Kurt said with a smile. “I’m guessing either Jake or Nick.” Kurt added.

He smiled “I have a feeling it’ll be Jake.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, from Westerville, Ohio, the Dalton Academy Warblers!” said the announcer.

They sat up in their seats and looked at their friends. Blaine couldn’t help but feel a little jealous, seeing them in their blazers, he missed Dalton, but he was where he belonged, with Kurt. Jake was front and center next to a Warbler he didn’t recognize. Jake stepped forward with a smile on his face. “Hello everyone, I’m Jake Wilde from the Dalton Academy Warblers, I hope you enjoy the show.”

Blaine smiled wide as he saw his best friend was the leader as They began singing in the background.

“Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo,Doo”

“Goodnight my angel, time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say”

He smiled, he loved this song, and Jake sounded so good singing it!

“I promised I would never leave you
Then you should always know
Wherever you may go, no matter where you are
I never will be far away.”

Kurt was impressed at how well they’re doing without Blaine, he was their big voice and now it’s Jake.

“Goodnight my angel, now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep
The water's dark and deep, inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me”

“Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo,Doo”

“Goodnight my angel, now it's time to dream
And dream how wonderful your life will be
Someday your child may cry, and if you sing this lullaby
Then in your heart there will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabies go on and on
They never die
That's how you and I will be”

Everyone stood up cheering, by the end of the song, Blaine had tears in his eyes, he did such a great job, he was so proud of him. They Performed one more song and it was the new Warbler, and he was not impressed. The choreography they were using...wasn’t like them at all it wasn’t classy. He’d have to talk about that to Jake.

Once intermission hit, they made their way to the Warblers green room. “Knock knock.”
They went inside as blaine said “Hey guys!”

Everyone looked over and Jake’s eyes widened. “Blaine!” Jake said and he ran to his best friend.

Blaine chuckled “Hey Jake!” hugging him.

“Kurt! Blaine! What are you two doing here?” asked Nick.

He smiled “Well, we haven’t seen you guys in a while and I had heard through the grapevine that Jake was gonna be singing the solo part, do you think I’d miss that? Come on now.”

They laughed. Kurt smiled “You guys sounded great! I’m pretty sure you guys have this in the bag!”

The warblers cheered. Jake smiled “Duh!”

Blaine smiled, he missed them. He looked at Jake “Hey, I know I haven’t seen you much lately, schedules been crazy, maybe in two weeks we can hang out and you can spend the weekend?”

Jake nodded “Yeah sure!”

The lights flickered on and off, signalling it’s time for the announcement. Kurt smiled “Well, we’re gonna get back in our seats! Break a leg guys!”

“Thanks!” They all replied. He took Blaine's hand and they went back out into the audience. A few moments later, the three teams came back out and Blaine took his hand. Part of him wanted the Warblers to win, and another part didn’t, because if they won, that’s who they’d be facing in Reigonals, and he’s not too sure how he’d feel about that.

Finally the judge came up, why happened to be that anchor lady that Sue Sylvester hated. “Alright, in third place, The Jazz Squares!” The leader of the Jazz Squares came and collected their trophy.

“And the winner, from Dalton Academy, The Warblers!”

They got on their feet cheering, Blaine beamed at his friends celebrating. They quickly congratulated them and went back to the house. It was getting late. He dropped Blaine off and gave him a quick kiss and went home and crashed.

The next day at school, they knew they had to tell them how it went. When it was time for glee, Mr.Schue started to talk. Kurt raised his hand “Mr.Schue, if I may?”

“Sure Kurt.”

Blaine and him went up. “Okay,so, we went to the Warblers sectionals last night, and they won. So we’ll be facing them at Regionals.” Said Kurt.

He nodded “Yeah, but there’s a problem, since I left their choreography has gotten a lot more technical and they have added some flips and it’s completely different from last year. So if we get to Regionals, we’re going to have to step up our game in order to beat them.”

Artie sighed “So in other words, we’re screwed?”

Mr. Schue shook his head “No, Artie. We’re not are you forgetting how much talent we’ve got here? We beat the Warblers last year, and with Brittany and Mike, we can make more advanced dances. We got this. Let’s focus on Sectionals and we’ll worry about Regionals, later.”

They took their seats, but in the back of their heads, seeing what that had, they couldn’t help but think, we’re screwed.

End Notes: Now ARE they screwed?? Ohohoho.Song is Lullaby by Billy Joel.Hopefully it won't take as long to update next time!SORRY AGAIN!With love and Klainebows,Lizzie
