Author's Notes: Because I was asked on my other story on ff.net(Supernatural Klaine Drabble), I have written a few more short stories that all fit together to create the 'bigger picture'. You're sort of left to your own devices with filling in some of the blanks. These were inspired by the gifs from tumblr, which can be found here: http:/ /whodisrespectinumbridge. tumblr. com/tagged/genre%20swap
Blaine was bored. It was his first day at this highly secretive, government-run McKinley High School for the Gifted and he could already see the long, endless days of nothing but classes on how to control his special ability stretched before him in a monotonous haze. He sighed as the teacher explained something about morality. Bullshit, he thought, staring at the ceiling.

He slumped back and let his arms fall behind his chair, cupped one hand into a 'U' shape and clicked his lighter in his other hand once. The tongue of flame darted over to his cupped hand and grew into a sphere the size of a baseball. Excellent, Blaine thought cheering up instantly. Now he had something to play with for the rest of the lesson!

Seated at the desk next to him, a boy snickered at Blaine's relaxed form and the ball of fire behind held behind him. A very cute boy, Blaine thought, eyeing him appreciatively.

"Impressed?" Blaine mouthed, making the fire flare up some more.

The boy cocked an eyebrow and shook his head. "No," he replied in equal silence.

"What can you do then?" Blaine asked, feeling a little put off by the fact that this guy seemed not impressed at all at his ability to control fire.

The guy put his chin in his hand, angled his head down towards the ball of fire and breathed out. A gust of cold overcame Blaine and he shivered slightly.

Then all of a sudden he could no longer feel the fire had had been holding. It was as if it had just gone out which did not make sense because Blaine didn't make it and the fire always did what he wanted it too.

SMASH!

The ball of ice that had just been a ball of fire shattered loudly on the floor and the entire class turned to look in his Blaine's direction. Blaine pulled himself up straighter and stared innocently back, as if balls of ice appeared out of nowhere around him everyday. Which was, of course, a possibility in a school like this.

Unfortunately the teacher had also noticed. "Blaine Anderson," he said, looking down at the roll. "Is there a reason you created a ball of ice and let it drop in my class? Am I boring you?" Oh what an opening. Beside Blaine, the ice boy was snickering again, covering his mouth with his hand. "But you're power isn't anything to do with ice." He stared at the clipboard for a few more moments, then looked up. "But Kurt Hummel's is." The boy stopped laughing. "Both of you were obviously not paying attention so I see no reason not to ask you both to leave the class. Let that be a warning to the rest of you. Rudeness will not be tolerated in my classroom," the teacher said as Blaine and Kurt hurriedly packed their books and walked the 'walk of shame' to the door. The teacher turned back to the whiteboard. "Come back tomorrow when you're ready to learn."

As the door swung shut behind them, Blaine turned and asked Kurt, "What if I'm not ready to learn all year?"

Kurt laughed in response. He was beautiful, Blaine thought. All delicate looking and pale with a pointed face and soft brown hair.

"Kurt Hummel," Kurt said, holding out a hand. "We haven't really officially been introduced."

"Blaine. Anderson," Blaine replied. Kurt made to take his hand away but Blaine held on to it a little to long to be socially acceptable for acquaintances before letting go. "What are we supposed to do now that we're out of there?"

Kurt shrugged. "We could go for a walk, I suppose. Check out the school campus."

Blaine smirked. "There's only one thing I'll be checking out and it isn't the school," he said pointedly as they began walked.

About five months later, Kurt and Blaine sat in what they had come to call 'their' table in 'their' coffee shop, clutching mugs of hot, delicious-smelling coffee.

"I still think fire trumps ice," Blaine insisted.

Kurt snorted elegantly (how anyone could do that, Blaine did not know, but here was Kurt proving the laws of nature wrong once again). "Do I need to remind you of the day we met?"

Blaine pouted childishly. "I wasn't ready for you then," he said.

Kurt smiled, leaned forward and took his hand. "If you want to believe that, I'll continue to let you because I love you."

Blaine smiled back, his stubbornness melting like ice. "I love you too."
