Being in the forest had not been in Blaine's plan. Originally he was going to find the inn and seduce the owner. A comfortable place to sleep plus someone to share a bed with. He had been on his way to the tavern when a light breeze came from the forest. The smell of the woods stirred something in him, thoughts of home. All of a sudden he could not stomach the idea of sleeping with another stranger. The pull of the forest won and he headed out of the town and into the woods.
He wandered for hours, until he came across a clearing with a small pond in the middle. His legs grew tired and he decided here would be a good place to sleep. Except sleep never came, he tossed and turned for what seemed like hours. He gave up. Then, out of nowhere a bird began to sing out. Without thinking he immediately sung back the notes. The bird fluttered down and chirped at him expectantly, like it wanted to hear more. The song came to him in an instant. It was a tune his mother would sing to him at night when he was a child. He was so caught up in it he did not hear Kurt enter.
When finally he saw him, he felt like the air had been knocked out of his lungs. For years he'd had such vivid dreams of a man, this man. Even now hours later here he was resting his head on Blaine's chest. Being on his own for so many years had taught Blaine to be wary of everyone and yet when Kurt asked, Blaine answered.
His past, Blaine had not truely thought about his past for a long time. Yet, with Kurt near him, the pain of thinking of it was all but gone. He started from his home, the terrible place it had been. Yet, he did not mention magic. Something inside him told him that now was not the time for that. He did however mention his coming out. He carefully watched the spasm of emotion that crossed Kurt's face. This gave him hope as he continued on.
"I had no money, no help, and no idea what I was doing," Blaine reflected. "There is one thing I learned from my parents though."
"What's that?" Kurt inquired.
"Blain smiled with no humor, "Having them kick me out taught me how to survive." Blaine was having a mental debate with himself on how he would phrase the next part, that part of his life he hated the most. "I found out quickly that whenever I needed food, money, or a place to sleep I could convince people to give me them for free."
Kurt's brow furrowed, a look that Blaine found particularly enduring, "How?" He asked? Blaine just stared him, how could this man not know how the world worked? Apparently he did know because a moment later his eyes widened. "Oh, you had sex with them, to survive." There was no judgement in his voice. Blaine almost couldn't talk for a moment. He really cares, He thought.
He felt very brave and decided to slowly move his hand to Kurt's. When their hands touched that electricity he had felt before arced through his body again. Watching Kurt's face he intertwined their fingers. Kurt sighed and that gave Baline the courage to finish.
"I'm not proud of what I had to do, but I continued until on day," this part was tricky, he didn't want to lie but he had to, "a shopkeeper asked me to do something." Kurt raised his head. "Don't ask I do not wish to repeat it, but I could not, I walked out and have been moving from kingdom to kingdom looking for work ever since." There wa silence for a moment. Blaine started to panic, had he scared him off? Should he have told the truth. Finally Kurt looked at him.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through all that." Normally Blaine hated when people told him they felt sorry for him, but from Kurt it felt so real. He looked up and the pair made eye contact. They simply looked at each other for a time. Blaine almost told him the truth, about magic about evertyhing, about what really made him give up seducing shop owners.
Blaine cleared his throat, "What, what about you?" Blaine knew something was wrong because Kurt looked away. Blaine already missed looking into his eyes, wanting to memorize every detail. Kurt looks like he was working up the courage to say something. Baline sighed and shifted his position only to realize they were still holding hands. Blaine grinned like an idiot. He had never felt this way about physical contact before. Usually to him it meant he was trying to get something fro msomeone else. But this, felt completely right and natural.
"i'm the son of the king." Kurt had said so quickly and quietly that Blaine did not understand him at all.
"What? Say that again."
Kurt exhaled slowly before repeating in a more relaxed tone, "I'm the son of the king." Kurt looked up at Blaine with an expression that screamed at Blaine that Kurt needed him not to freak out about this.
Blaine took a moment to collect his thoughts. This beautiful man, who was caring beyond belief, is royalty. All of Blaine's interactions with royals had usually ended with Blaine being offered to live in castles as basically a sex slave or being threatened with beheading from a king who didn't want people to know about his infatuation with young boys.
"I feel like I should bow," Blaine joked. Kurt looked at him, absolutely mortified. But when he saw that Blaine was grinning from ear to ear, trying to repress laughter, he started to laugh as well. Suddenly the both of them were laughing until their sides hurt and tears rolled down their faces. They laughed until they both laid down on the ground. Kurt's hand found Blaine's instictively and they lay there chuckling back and forth until they drifed off to sleep.
