“Blaine, do you have any relatives that live around here that you could stay with?” officer Tom asked.
“No, my grandma lives in a nursing home. That’s the only relatives I have around here. My aunts and uncles live in different states,” Blaine answered.
“Do you think you might have any friends willing to take you in?”
Blaine automatically shook his head. “I went to Dalton Academy. I had a dorm, but I couldn’t afford that on my own; nor could one of my friends.”
Officer Tom thought a moment, and then spoke. “How do you feel about public school?”
“That’s my only option as of right now. Why?” Blaine questioned.
“How about you stay with me? You’ll go to McKinley with my son who’s just about your age. They have a glee club there. I understand you like to sing.”
Blaine was surprised by this offer. “No one has ever done something so nice for me. I’ll stay with you, only if you’re sure it’s okay. As soon as I get back on my feet, I’ll be out of your hair. I promise,” Blaine said with a smile.
“You may stay as long as you have to. Oh, and by the way, the hospital is releasing you today,” Tom said as he was opening the door to leave.
“Officer Tom,” Blaine spat out quickly before Tom could leave. “Thank you. For everything.”
“Don’t mention it.”
