“I’m sorry ma’am. Blaine won’t be at school today. Family emergency,” Brad said shakily into the phone.
“Dad, why am I not going to school?”
Startled by the little voice, Brad drops the phone. He bends down and pciks it back up and sets it up on the counter. “Come here bud. Let’s talk.”
