Kurt woke up feeling sick. He looked around the room and once again there was no Blaine. He didn’t bother to call him, because he would most probably just be busy somewhere in the hotel room. He took his phone and looked at the time. Was it 5 pm already! What! The date was 2 days later! He thought Blaine was fooling with him and called his name. “Blaine!” after calling his name four times, he got out of bed and found Blaine nowhere! So he made breakfast but when he looked on the counter he saw a yellow stick-it note.
If you ever want to see your boyfriend again, you’ll meet me at 7pm at Delmonico’s! Be there!
He recognized the handwriting, but couldn’t place his finger on it. He panicked and thought about calling the police, but he knew that would just make the whole story worse. He looked at the watch and it was 5:30, so he decided to take a shower to try to calm him. Thoughts like: Is he alive? Will I ever see him again? Ran through his mind and he couldn’t calm down. He dried himself, got dressed and watched the next half an hour pass in an agonizing slow speed. He grabbed his wallet and phone and by 6:43pm he left the hotel room. He hailed over a cab and gave the driver the address. The driver was trying to make small talk, but Kurt was to wrapt in his thoughts and worries to care. ‘What if it was too late already?’
He arrived at Delmonico’s at 6:58 and for once in his life he was glad to be on time. He entered and saw the amber eyes of his boyfriend staring at him. He almost ran over a few people on the way to the table. He grabbed Blaine in his arms and held him tight. “Blaine, are you okay?” His voice was high-pitched and shaky. Blaine did not talk. It was only then that Kurt realised that there was another face looking at him. It was the chubby-cheeked bully that stole his first kiss from him. Dave was smiling smugly and sinister at the scene in front of him. “Now listen, homo, you are going to sit down now, have a drink and we’ll discuss the rules of this game.” Kurt wanted to punch him, but knew better and obeyed everything he said. They ordered their drinks and it was the first time Kurt heard Blaine’s voice the evening. “A Coke, please.” It was hoarse and tired, and Kurt wanted to grab him and hold him forever, but he couldn’t.
After the drinks, Dave gave Kurt the precise instructions to follow. If it wasn’t for Blaine being in trouble, Kurt would’ve said no. This man was a psycho. He didn’t want money, or want Kurt to export any illegal objects or any of these dodgy things; he just wanted Kurt to “entertain” him for one night. Kurt didn’t want to and he saw that Blaine didn’t want it as well, but in order to have Blaine to himself again, he had to do it. The arrangements, time and address was sorted; now it only had to happen. Kurt wanted to give Blaine one hug to say goodbye, but Dave warned him: “Touch him, homo, and he’s dead.” Kurt left with tears in his eyes. Blaine also cried and once he and Dave arrived at the hotel, Dave slapped him and told him to stop being such a ‘lady’s ass’. Then Dave tied him to the chair and disappeared. The only thing that kept him going was the thought that soon he will be wrapped in Kurt’s, loving arms, and then he cried himself into an uncomfortable sleep.
Kurt went back to his hotel and settled in bed just to have a sleepless night. He couldn’t stop thinking about Blaine and where he had been now. Then it hit him! “I should take the police with me tomorrow!” He sat up and got out of bed. He dressed and ran out, called for a cab and ended up at the local police station. Before he went in, he sorted out the story in his head and went into the station.
The next evening at 6pm he was ready. He let Dave know that he was on his way. He called the police to do the same. Once outside the hotel, he got into the cab and was being transported to his destination. The police said that they will barge in before him and arrest Dave and he could get Blaine. ‘What if it doesn’t work’ he thought to himself. He erased the thought and prayed to whoever he believed in to help him and Blaine that evening. Once he got out the cab, he knew something was wrong. He got out, ran inside and what he saw in front of him almost killed him...
