Author's Notes:

It was hours later, and Kurt swears he'd done almost everything he could to help this baby move lower. He was propped against the pillows in bed, Blaine sitting by his side and dabbing a cool wet cloth across his forehead. He takes a gulp of air in, exhaling slowly as the contraction finishes.

"M'so tired." Kurt mumbles, looking over at his boyfriend.

"I know, sweetheart. But you're doing so well." He murmurs, brushing Kurt's hair back from his forehead as their midwife walks in to check the proogress. She takes a seat at the end of the bed, sliding on a pair of gloves as she checks Kurt's progress before looking up.

"Well," she begins. "You've definitely made a bit of progress since I last checked. You're now seven centimeters, which means the baby has dropped quite a bit. I would say it might be a few more hours, but only at the most." She gives him a small smile before walking out, a moan tearing from Kurt's lips as he back arched slightly in the bed, Blaine leaning over to place a soft kiss to his forehead.

Kurt whines softly, making a low noise in hopes to bring the baby lower. "Blaine, ah." He breathes out slowly, keeping one hand locked in Blaine's, the other gripping the bedsheets as he breathes through the worse contraction he's experiened yet. As soon as it's over, he looks up at his boyfriend. "I need to move. I need to get off the bed and get into a new position somewhere, because I need this baby here."

Blaine nods, helping his boyfriend out of the bed, Kurt standing up beside the bed, hand placed on the underside of his bump. He closes his eyes, whimpering as he feels another pain approaching, placing both his hands on the bed, leaning over slightly as he rocks his hips back and forth in an attempt to cure the pain.

"Ohh.." He groans, bending his knees slightly and moving into a semi-squat position, automatically feeling his pelvis widen as he breathes slowly. He hums softly through the contraction, keeping his eyes closed as he feels Blaine's hands move across his back, applying counterpressure on his lower back, massaging his aching hips. He lets out a sigh, catching his breath and standing back up with Blaine's help, He crawls back onto the bed, finally finding a position he's okay with. He's facing the pillows on his hands and knees, Blaine dabbing the back of his neck with the rag.

"So ready for this baby to be here.." He murmurs, rubbing a hand slowly over his bump for a few minutes, not as much resting time as before when he feels the next contraction hit. He moves up to his hands and knees, rocking his hips in slow circles.
He suddenly grunts loudly, making a low noise as he feels an overwhelming pressure in his bottom, his body tensing as he can't help but bear down. He stops as the contraction ends, looking up to Blaine. "Blaine, I-... I just pushed. I just pushed, and, ohh." He lets out a choked moan. "I have to push, now. I can't not push Get the midwife." He mumbles.

He hears Blaine peek out the door, muttering something as the midwife walks in and stands at the end of the bed. "Do you want to stay here or-"

"Yes, please. I have to push now." Kurt nearly growls.

He feels the nurse check him before nodding, clucking her tongue as she announces that on the next contraction, he can push.

He nods, breathing slowly until he feels the next contraction and the overwhelming pressure hit all at once, again, and he bears down, grunting and groaning while he pushes. He catches his breath once he can’t push anymore, bearing down a second time during the same contraction, pushing, shouting once he feels a slight burning sensation.

The midwife tells Kurt to wait and gather his energy and push as hard as he can on the next contraction, that the baby is crowning. He can’t help but almost laugh in relief. Relief that he’d soon have their baby in his arms. Relief that soon enough, the pain would be over and Kurt could rest, and hold their newborn child. He feels a burning pressure unlike what he’s felt before, gasping as he bears down, groaning in a low voice for a few seconds as he pushes, yelping in pain as the baby’s head slides out, feeling a stretch and burn.

The midwife tells Kurt to again, stop pushing as she suctions the baby’s nose and mouth out, making sure that the baby is completely okay before telling him that on the next contraction, he can resume pushing.

He pushes down as hard as he can on the next contraction, shouting as the baby’s shoulders slide down and out, gasping as he feels the baby’s body exit his. The midwife holds their baby, announcing ‘It’s a girl!’, and maneuvering Kurt so he’s sitting back against the pillows, catching his breath. He feels a few tears escape his eyes, staring down at their baby who is covered in blood and gunk, but is still just as beautiful as he could imagine. He watches, sniffling as the baby is cleaned off and swaddled in a plain white blanket and placed in his arms, just after Blaine cuts the cord, tears in his own eyes.

“Oh, wow. Hello, baby. Hi, sweetie.” He murmurs, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “You’re so beautiful.” He smiles up at Blaine, eyes bright as Blaine leans down and presses a kiss to Kurt’s forehead.

“I’m so proud of you, baby.” Kurt blushes lightly and smiles. “It’s because you were so amazing, and you helped me through all of it.” He explains softly, rocking their baby girl slowly as she fussed, but began to drift to sleep. Blaine gently scooped the baby from Kurt’s arms, kissing her cheek gently and placing her in the small crib in the corner of the room, obviously set up their earlier by their midwife or another midwife there. He smiles as he looks over, Kurt already dozed off, mouth slightly open as he sleeps. He looks as he notices Kurt’s hair matted down to his forehead with sweat, the labor and delivery truly taking all of Kurt’s energy. His phone buzzes, alerting Blaine of Burt and Carole’s arrival. He walks out towards the birth center’s small waiting room, meeting the grandparents, taking them back to the room to meet their new granddaughter as Kurt slept.
