Kurt had been sick and miserable for about two weeks now. He was vomiting, tired, and achey. As he rushed off to the bathroom for the second time in about ten minutes, Blaine followed behind.
"Kurt, you have got to go see a doctor. This is getting out of control." Blaine says, rubbing Kurt's back and pressing a cool wash rag to his face.
"I know." Kurt answers, retching into the toliet. "I'll see if I get an appointment tomorrow, okay?"
"That's fine. I just want you to get better." Blaine replies, helping Kurt off the bathroom floor and back onto the bed in Kurt's room.
Kurt dials the number for the local doctor, setting an appointment for the next day. "My appointment is tomorrow at noon, you wanna go with me?"
"Yes, I'll go. I just want you to feel better." Blaine says, giving Kurt a small kiss on the cheek as they snuggle together, drifting off to sleep.
The next day, they wake up later, both preparing themselves for the doctor.
When they get to the small clinic, Kurt fills out a few pages of paperwork, before getting called back.
"Okay, Kurt, my name is Lily. Nurse Lily. I'll be taking care of you today. What seems to be the problem?" Lily asks, taking out a clipboard and sitting down next to the bed like table in the exam room.
"Well, I've been very achey, tired, and vomiting for the past few weeks, which is wierd considering I never get sick." Kurt answers with a sigh.
"Okay. I'll run a few tests, and we'll get you better." Lily smiles, pulling out some different medical items. "We'll run a blood test, and go ahead and get it to the lab."
Lily sticks Kurt with the needle, collecting a bit of blood, sending it to the lab. "We also need you to take a pee test. There is a bathroom right through that door."
Kurt walks into the bathroom, quickly peeing into the cup. He had drank a bottle of water on the way down there, so it wasn't a problem.
"Okay, just sit tight and I'll be right back with your results." Lily says, leaving the room.
Kurt lies back, holding Blaine's hand, not even ten minutes later Lily arrives.
"Okay, I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong. Kurt, have you ever heard of a carrier?" Lily asks.
"No, what's that?" Kurt asks, worried.
"It's a male born with a condition allowing him to have children." Lily answers.
"Wait, are you telling me I'm pregnant?" Kurt is shocked.
"I'm going to run a quick ultrasound to make sure, but I think that's what this is." She grabs a dopler machine, and some gel.
"Okay, please pull up your shirt. And I warn you, it will be cold." She smiles, squeezing some gel onto Kurt's stomach.
Kurt flinches when the gel hits him, as it is ice cold. He looks up, hearing a heartbeat, and seeing a small blob. A few tears run down his face, as he covers his mouth with his hand. He can feel Blaine squeeze his other hand from beside him.
"Yes, Kurt, your pregnant. I'll go ahead and get you an appointement for in another four weeks. You're about four weeks along. Congrats." She walks out of the room, returning in a few minutes to hand Kurt a small appointment card with her number, and a prescription for anti-nausua pills and pre-natal vitamins.
Blaine just holds him as Kurt sits the car, tears running down his face.
Comments
This was really good. I can't wait to see if the boys are happy about the baby or if they are kind of freaked out since they are still in high school. Looking forward to chapter 2.
