Author's Notes: Im English, i tried to change most of the words to the american version, but im sorry if you dont know what something means :(

The next day, at 8:30, Blaine left for work. He only lived about 10 minutes away so he liked to walk. It was an easy trip if he walked through central park. Central park was one of his favorite places to be in New York, watching children playing, and other people walking and having fun. Only about 2 times in his years of living in New York has he seen a single person unhappy, 3 if you counted him.

When he arrived he was people in there, and the open sign was hanging in the door. That meant he was late. He granddad normally would cover for him, but he was away right now, and left his business partner, Paul, in charge, who hated Blaine. Blaine went around the back, though the kitchen, grabbed his work apron, and walked in.

“Well well, look who decided to show up today” Paul said in a patronizing voice

“Very funny” Blaine replied.

“Don’t talk to me like that” Paul snapped

“I can do what I like”

“Look, I’m charge here”

“Really? I didn’t notice”

Paul rolled his eyes

“Get behind the till, and help any customers, I’ll be back soon”

“Where are you going?”

“None of your business”

And then Paul slipped through the back door, Blaine didn’t bother arguing because he at least he was gone now.

Today was a slow day in the bakery, a few people coming and going. It wasn’t until 7:30 pm.

~

That same morning Kurt was in his apartment, getting dressed in the new clothes he got yesterday when someone knocked on his door

“Yes” He answered

“Kurt, Me and Rach were going to share a taxi to work, do you want to come too?” Said a manly voice on the other side of the door

“Sure Finn, give me 5 minutes”

“Ok” Then Finn wondered off

Kurt grabbed this bag, his magazine, and his sunglasses and went to open the door. Once he opened in a small brown hair girl was right there.

“AHH.” Kurt yelped.

“Shhh” Said Rachel “I just wanted to remind you to go and get Finns cake, I googled it and its actually called Blaine’s, sorry”

“Don’t worry, I didn’t forget” But actually he had forgotten.

“Cabs here” Yelled Finn from outside the front door

Kurt grabbed one of his coats, and him and Rachel ran out the door and into the cab. Finn told the driver where to go, Kurt got dropped off first.

As he walked into the building, he had the biggest grin on his face. This happened every time he walked in. He was always smile, because he loved his job, and it was everything he could’ve dreamed.

“Good morning” Said Paula, the receptionist

“Morning Paula, is she in yet?” When Kurt said “She” He meant his boss

“Not yet, she called about 10 minutes ago saying she was going to be here in 15, so you’ve got 5 minutes”

Kurt laughed

“Thanks”

And then he walked off into his office, which was just next to his boss’s office. He quickly went into his boss’s office, turned on their lights, their computer, their air conditioning, and anything else that he could turn on. Went back to his desk, and started fiddling with his hair.

After a long day at work, even though he loved it, he desperately wanted to leave. It was 7 o’clock and he was just packing all his stuff up, grabbing his coat and bag and leaving. Even though most people had left, there was still someone to ride down in the elevator with.

When he out of the building on the side of the road trying to haul a taxi, he felt his phone vibrating, we went to check it, it was a text from Rachel.

It said “I’ve just finished work, should I meet you at the Bakery?”

Kurt hauled a taxi, got in and asked the driver if he knew where the bakery “Blaine’s” was. Surprisingly he knew exactly where it was.

Kurt then texted Rachel back

“I’m on my way there, you don’t have to come though, it might make Finn suspicious”

She texted back almost immediately “Ok, I’ll make sure we’re out of the house for when you get back. Shall we go out to dinner? You can meet us there?”

“Sounds great, I’ll be there by 8? Text when you find out where” He replied

“Ok, love you diva xx :D” She ended with.

It was about a 25 minutes journey when the taxi pulled over,

“Its just through that little road, but its one way and I’m on the wrong side, and it will be quicker if you get out here” Said the driver

“Thanks” Kurt paid and left the driver a tip.

He walked down the road, and it was the fifth shop, and he saw it. It looked extremely cute. He saw cakes, biscuits, bread and a lot of other yummy stuff. As soon as he walked in her noticed something even cuter. The boy standing behind the desk.

~

Blaine looked up from till and saw him. An average size man, a cute nose, tight trousers. He couldn’t quite believe it. This was possibly the most attractive man he had seen.

“Hi there” He blurted out, regretting it as soon as he said it

~

“Hi” Said Kurt back a bit to memorized by this mans fluffy hair, and prefect teeth. All Kurt wanted to do was go over there a kiss those perfect lips, but of course he couldn’t, that would be weird. And he’s probably not even gay.

“Can I help you with anything?” The hansom man said

“Yes, its my brothers birthday, so, what’s the sweetest thing in here?” Kurt said, trying to forget the fact that the only thing separating them was a counter.

~

“Well, I’m pretty sure that’s you” Blaine replied with a cute grin on his face

The boy blushed and let out a small giggle

“Thank you” He replied

“Mine names Blaine” Blaine said, after he said he was thinking how stupid he must sound randomly saying it

“Nice name, do you own this place then?”

For a moment Blaine had no idea what he was talking about, and then realized he meant the Bakery

“Oh no, its my Grand dads, I’m just named after him”

The man smiled

“Oh right…” His eyes the trailing off to look around and all the confectionary.

“To answer you question, I would go with one of these cakes” Blaine said, pointing at the wonderfully decorated cakes behind a glass panel

~

“Oh my, their…” Kurt said

“I know, my grand dad has always be praised on how well he can decorate cakes” Blaine told him

“A bit like Peeta” Kurt said, the realizing that Blaine probably has no idea what he meant.

“You’ve read the hunger games?”

“Only about 5 times”

“I’ve never met someone whose read it properly” Blaine said, ready to get into full on fan-girl mode

“I’m trying to get Rachel to read it, but she just won’t, to distracted with her career.”

~

And with that, Blaines heart sank. Rachel. Who’s she? Probably his girlfriend? Maybe his wife? Oh well, I guess that’s over. And a shame.

“Right, yeah, So, shall I get you one of these lovely cakes?” He said, trying to sound cheerful, but finding it hard.

“Well, my brother likes Football, but Rach likes Broadway, and its as much her cake as his” And then he laughed

Blaine didn’t really understand but then said, “Do they have the same birthday?

“No but ever since they got engaged they say ‘Whatever is theirs, is mine too’ and it’s a bit weird”

Engaged? YES. That means they’re not together. Another chance.

“Well, this one has a football on, this one has a music note, Wait” Blaine turned around and went though the kitchen door then re-appeared moments later.

~

In his hand was a cake; it was the most amazing cake, fit for both Rachel and Finn.

“I love it!” And then Kurt squealed like a little girl.

Blaine tried to cover up a snort

“Ok then, shall I box it for you?” He said

“Yes please”

Blaine boxed it up, and passed it to Kurt.

“That’ll be $15.99” Blaine said

“It says $29.99 on this tag” He said, pointing to a sticker on the box

“Yeah, but I’m giving you my discount”

“That’s very sweet, I feel bad though”

“Its fine, I’m allowed to use it on friends and family”

“Are you friends?”

“We can be?”

“You don’t even know mind name”

“True, what is it?”

“Its Kurt”

“Nice name”

“Thanks” Kurt said, finally handing Blaine $16

“Ok” Then he pressed some buttons and handed Kurt a penny

Kurt then dropped it in the tips jar.

“Thanks” Said Blaine, talking about the tip

“Do I sense a hint or sarcasm?” Kurt replied

“No, I was being completely serious!” Said Blaine

“Right… Well thanks so much for the cake, its perfect, I’ll see you round” Kurt turned around and started walking

“Wait” Blaine said “Would you like to go out, grab something to eat?”

“Umm, I would love to, but don’t you have a shop to run?”

“Well we close at 8, and its 7:45, I don’t mind closing a bit early”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, its not big deal”

“Ok”

Blaine took off his apron, and crawled under the counter so he was on the other side.

“After you” Said Blaine, ushering Kurt out the door.

“Thank you” Said Kurt

Once they were both out the door, Blaine locked it and they went walking up the street.
