Kurt was a 25 year old man, living in New York. He lived with his brother, Finn, and best friend Rachel. Finn and Rachel were engaged, and had been for the past 7 years. He worked at Vouge.com. When he first moved to New York, he was an intern there after not being able to get in to the school of his dreams, NYADA. Now he was the assistant to the editor-in-chief. He was extremely happy with his life, and didn’t want anything to change. Well, expect one thing. He wanted love. He’d had a few relationships, that lasted a few weeks (some a few hours) but he wanted someone real. He wanted a real boyfriend, someone who he could call his own. He loved living with Rachel and Finn, but sometimes their love was too much for him to handle.
Blaine was a 23 year old man, living in a tiny apartment, with 5 other people, working in his Grand dads (The one he was named after) Bakery, to trying and pay off his student loans. He recently broke-up with his long time boyfriend, Sebastian. Whenever Blaine thinks about Sebastian, he always wonders why he stuck around for so long. They always fought, Sebastian had cheated on him numerous times, and wasn’t very nice to any of his friends. But secretly he knew why, but he would never admit it, not even to himself. It was because he was afraid of being alone. He didn’t like being alone. Just thinking about it made him shudder, so he did everything he could to keep his mind off it. Like getting 5 roommates, and getting a REAL job. When he told people this was a real job, they always questioned him on the ‘real’ part. It was because he was a musician; he studied in college, and did a few gigs a months, in old bars, in basements. But it was never good enough. That was something Sebastian pointed out a lot.

On Wednesday, Kurt was in his apartment, because he had the afternoon off of work, he was on his laptop scrolling down his news feed, when the phone rang. Kurt reached over his head behind him where there was a small table where the lived, and looked at the caller ID. He didn’t recognize it but he picked up any way.
“Hello?” Kurt said
“Get this, I was wondering around this cute little road just around the corner from us and I saw this bakery, and the cakes it does look delicious, and since its Finns birthday, and he loves cakes, could you pick one up from there, and I’ll pay you half?” Said the person on the other end of the line.
“Rachel? Is that you?
“Yes…” Rachel said,
“Why are you calling me on this number”
“Oh this is my old one, I dropped mine on the street and it cracked, so I’ve been using this one”
“Oh right… What were you saying about a cake?”
“There’s a bakery around the corner, it’s called something like Blake’s. Its looks super delicious, I was going to get one for Finns birthday, but I thought you’d be a lot better at picking it out for me, I mean him…” She laughed nervously
“Ok, sure, I will. When Finns birthday again?”
“It in 3 days, so Saturday”
“Ok, I’ll go tomorrow and look at them”
“Thanks so much! When you get it, tell the price and I’ll pay you back”
“No, I can’t let you pay”
“Fine, we’ll split, half?”
“Sounds great, when are you home? You were meant to be home 30minutes ago, I want to go shopping but I don’t want to go on my own!”
“I just had to pop back to work because I forgot my keys, I’ll be there in, like, 2 minutes”
“Ok, see you soon diva”
“Bye Kurt” She sang down the phone
And with that Kurt hung up the phone, went to his room and changed out of his sweatpants, and into a decent outfit. He looked out of the window on to the street, and saw Rachel walking up the road; all of a sudden she tripped over. Kurt gasped, ready to run down stairs and save her, but she got up, straightened her hair, looked around to make sure no one saw her, and carried on walking. Kurt couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Only a few moments later she walked through the door, smiling a happy, and pretending that nothing happened.
“Kurt” She called when she walked in
“Yep?” Kurt called back from his bedroom
A few seconds later she burst in looking very gleeful.
“So, how was you day? Did you meet anyone new?”
Kurt sighed
“It was a good day, and I met a lovely girl who worked down stairs, we shared an elevator ride together”
“That not what I meant” And she gave Kurt a small shove on his shoulder
“I know”
“Well, lets go!” Said Rachel as she turned around about to leave his bedroom, and probably leave the apartment
“Where are we going?” Said Kurt, feeling very confused
“You said we were going shopping”
“Oh yeah, I’ll grab my coat” Kurt left his room, when to coat stand near the front door, stared at all his coat, and finally picked one.
“Come on!” Rachel said, trying to hurry him along “Macy’s closes at 7”
“Alright, but Rach, Its 4:30”
“And you think I don’t know that”
And with that they were both out the door, thinking about what the wanted to buy, and if the had enough time
