So, Kurt tried all sorts of ways to make sleeping easier. He tried to exercise himself into exhaustion, which helped him get to sleep but not stay asleep through the night. He drank tea. He tried yoga. He talked his dad into buying a real mattress, not just one off a local commercial. He forced himself to stick to a regular sleep schedule. Nothing really helped.
On the rare night that Kurt was able to fall asleep quickly, he was guaranteed a vivid dream that he would remember for no more than five minutes after waking. He got into the habit of keeping a dream journal by his bed. His dad thought it was hooky but Kurt loved to flip through and try to remember what had been going on in his life to cause his dreams.
Was head designer for a show in Paris. Alexander McQueen was the head judge but for some reason we were old friends. Then Coach Sylvester came onto the stage and insisted this was cutting into her budget and needed to be eliminated. Morphed into my room and Dad insisting I throw out my spring collection. I listed 702 reasons why I should keep it including it was a homework assignment and it was the only way to keep Coach Sylvester happy. He backed off and joined some survival TV show.

A thief broke into the house but only went into my room. Tore open all the drawers and took every scarf I own. Followed him to his hideout (which for some reason was Save-A-Lot). Mercedes ended up taking out the main villain while I was left with the cronies a la Kill Bill with the Crazy 88. I shouted at her to help me but she yelled ‘I’m decapitating this bitch!’ and just as she said that the head was flung towards me. As I ducked Finn popped up and insisted I help his mom dress for her date with Dad but all she owned were sweatpants.

Running through McKinley. Ran past Jennifer from Econ as she was putting up student council signs. Turned into the library which randomly turned into Dalton. Watched the Warblers perform (though I can’t remember what) and then talked with Blaine for what felt like hours.
Later, Kurt would flip through his old journal and realize how many more good nights of sleep he got after Blaine came into his life, and how after the two finally became a couple he had an entry nearly every night. Blaine was his rock when the world threw everything it could at him, as it so often did. At the end of the day he knew he could sleep because there was one person in this world who thought about him as much as he thought about him.
Even though his dreaming nights became more frequent, the dreams themselves became shorter. When he started the journal, he could remember entire conversations. After a year or so of dating Blaine, the most Kurt could remember of his dreams were flashes of faces and a general plot. It didn’t bother Kurt, however, because he realized the old clich was true: that he was truly happy and reality was finally better than his dreams.

so so sooo good! the dream entries were perfect i absolutely hate it when dreams are depicted as like coherent things when only like 1 in a million are. they are supposed to be confusing and surreal and i guess i just really appreciate that u get that =)
Thank you so much! That's exactly the effect I was going for! I'm glad it worked for you, and thanks again for taking the time to leave a review :)
