Blaine walked into the lobby and sat down, folding his hands in his lap and leaning back. He closed his eyes and remembered back when they first met.
Flashback
Blaine was standing in line at the DMV, waiting for his permit. He had been standing in line forever and was on the verge of falling asleep when a man turned around from where he was at the front desk and started walking toward the door. On his way toward the back of the room, he passed Blaine and made eye contact with him, smiling slightly. His sharp, blue eyes pierced Blaine's soft, hazel one's. The man kept walking and stepped out of the door. Blaine kept thinking about the man as he stopped in front of the desk, about to receive his permit. When he reached the counter, he saw a piece of paper laying on the marble surface. In the top left corner, there was a picture of the lean man that caught Blaine's eye just a few minutes before. He grabbed his permit that was handed to him and snatched the other man's permit into his free hand before sprinting out of the door and searching for the blue eyed man. When he saw him walking toward a car a short distance away, he sprinting toward him. When he reached the man, he was already at his car, realizing that he had forgotten his permit and was about to turn back to retrieve it. When he turned around, he was greeted with Blaine's smirking face.
“You forgot your permit,” Blaine said, extending his arm to hand him his permit. The man smiled and accepted it with a smile.
“Oh. Thank you,” the man replied.
Blaine kept staring and looked at the car behind him. He saw a window sticker for NYADA and smiled to himself.
“You work at NYADA?” Blaine asked, gesturing at the sticker. Kurt looked back in confusion and relaxed when he saw the sticker. He looked back at Blaine and shook his head.
“No, actually. I'm a student,” Kurt said matter-of-factly. Blaine smiled again.
“I go there, too,” Blaine said, blushing at the ground. Silence settled over the two men before Blaine spoke a few seconds after.
“So. I was thinking. You kind of owe me, ya know,” Kurt rose his eyebrows as if to say ‘I do now.' “Yeah, I got you your permit which means that it's only fair that you let me take you out for a drink.”
Kurt smiled and looked down, blushing. He looked back up with a half grin.
“I guess it's only fair,” Kurt responded, turning around and locking his door from unlocking it earlier. Blaine smiled brightly and offered his arm to the man.
“I'm Kurt, by the way,” the man said, accepting his arms and walking with the dark-haired boy.
“I'm Blaine.”
Flashback End
That was one of Blaine's favorite moment and he replayed it over in his mind. He was tired of this. He was tired of wishing that this was only a dream. He knew that he wouldn't wake up, but he silently wished that he could just wake up from the all-too-real nightmare. When he opened his eyes, it was to the familiar sound of Dr. Jenny's loafers squeaking against the tile floor. She approached Blaine and sat down next to him.
“Your boyfriend is tired, has a headache and will need to stay in the hospital a little while longer. We predicted that he can return home within the next couple of days,” she said, grabbing Blaine's hand and turning it over in her's. He smiled at her appraisingly and and looked at the open window to the left. He was tired and just wanted to sleep. Jenny must have noticed and stood up. She patted his back and walked down the hall, turning a corner. Blaine sprawled himself out on the firm couch and fell into a restless sleep.
