Dont kill me :/
Blaine and Kurt spent the whole entire afternoon enjoying each other's presence, listening to each other talk. Sometimes they would stop talking and just eat silently, gazing into each other's warm eyes. When Blaine reached out and grabbed Kurt's hand, Kurt blushed and intertwined his slender fingers with Blaine's warm ones. Kurt loved Blaine unconditionally. He loved him more than was even imaginable. When he looked at Blaine, he saw the man that he was going to spend the rest of his life with. Kurt just looked at Blaine with love filled eyes for a few minutes before finishing up his Greek salad and setting the bowl back inside the basket. He stretched lazily and leaned back into the soft pillows, laying his head on top of Blaine's lap. Blaine smiled contentedly and carded his fingers through Kurt's hair, gently scratching his scalp. Kurt moaned in comfort and leaned into his boyfriend's touch, turning his head to plant a kiss to Blaine's cloth covered tummy. Blaine continued caressing Kurt's hair, starting to hum a sweet lullaby. Kurt smiled dreamily before falling into a deep sleep.
When Kurt woke up, he was nestled into Blaine's side, hugging his waist with his arm. He smiled groggily and leaned up to kiss Blaine on the cheek before gently shaking the shorter man awake.
“Wake up, sleepy head. It's time to get up,” Kurt said quietly, brushing the dark curls out of Blaine's face. His hair was gelled earlier, but the curls must've fallen out while they were sleeping. Blaine blinked his eyes open a few times before opening them fully and settling them on to Kurt's sea blue colored irises. Blaine smiled for the millionth time that day and stared at his one true love. His soulmate.
“You're so beautiful,” Blaine said, pinching a lock of Kurt's hazelnut hair and tucked it back into his quoiff. Kurt beamed at Blaine before cuddling back into his side and sighing in absolute ecstasy.
“I love you, Blaine.”
“I love you, too,” Blaine said.
They lay there for a while longer. Not moving or speaking. Just soaking in one another, smelling each other's scent, clinging on to each other like a life line. Once the sun was beginning to set, Kurt and Blaine decided it was time to go. They packed up their things before making their way back to the car and journeying back to New York City. While they driving, it started to rain. Hard. Blaine clutched the steering wheel, afraid of letting go. Kurt sat worriedly in his seat, looking back and forth from the road to Blaine. Blaine had still a little ways to go before he was even in the outskirts of town. They kept driving, being extra aware of their surroundings. Blaine was driving steadily, a little slower than the speed limit. Kurt looked over and smiled at Blaine, willing to relieve some of the fear and stress away from Blaine. Blaine looked over at Kurt briefly and smiled back. When Blaine looked back onto the road, he saw two bright headlights coming toward them. Panic rose in Blaine and was about to steer away but it had been too late. The truck came in contact with their car and for a brief second, Blaine remembered looking at Kurt's face, panic stricken across it. He remembered seeing Kurt look at Blaine and a single tear falling down his cheek before the car slammed into the ground and flipped over. Blaine felt weak and then everything went black.
When Blaine woke up, he was attached to an IV. He looked down and he was clad in a hospital gown. He groaned in pain when he tried to sit up and flopped back down onto the bed which brought even more pain. Blaine just sat there before a petite woman briskly walked into the room and stopped at the foot of Blaine's bed.
“Hello, Blaine. My name is Dr. Jenny and I'm going to be taking care of you. Does that sound alright to you?” Dr. Jenny asked, looking at Blaine sympathetically. Blaine shrugged.
“Do I have a choice?” Dr. Jenny chuckled.
“I'm afraid not.” Jenny walked over to Blaine and detached the wiring from his chest and arm. After he was free of restraints, he asked the question he was dying to ask.
“Where's my boyfriend?” Blaine spoke, lifting his legs over the edge of the bed and letting them dangle.
“Ah. Yes. Kurt Hummel. I'm afraid he is not doing so great. He was yet to wake up. When the truck crashed into you guys, Kurt hit his head on the roof of your car but you did not because you ducked your head in time,” Dr. Jenny said with her eyes fully locked onto Blaine's. Blaine felt like he was dying. So many things were rushing through him. He knew he was already thinking the worse about the situation. Kurt being in a coma forever. Kurt not remembering anything when he awoke. Blaine was terrified and needed to see Kurt.
“Take me to him.”
Jenny led Kurt to a room a few doors down. When Blaine saw Kurt, his heart dropped. His lip was busted open, he had stitched up wounds on his forehead and there was a deep scratch just near the bridge of his nose. His arms were bruised and his face looked sickly pale. Sure, Blaine looked bad but not as bad as he did. Blaine pulled up a chair and sat down next to Kurt's bed, grabbing his hand. How could this happen to Kurt? Lovely Kurt. Beautiful Kurt. Blaine sat there with his hand embracing Kurt's, letting tears freely rain down his cheeks.
“I'll give you a moment,” Dr. Jenny said, setting her hand on his shoulder before walking out of the room and quietly closing the door behind her. Blaine sat there in silence, gripping Kurt's hand unnecessarily hard, afraid of it suddenly disappearing. Then Blaine spoke.
“Kurt. I'm so sorry. I should've been paying attention. I- I can't believe this happened. It should've been me,” Blaine was sobbing now and couldn't contain it.
“K- Kurt. If y- you can he- hear me, squeeze m- my hand.” Nothing. Blaine said it again. Nothing, again. Blaine shook violently and collapsed on himself, letting his head drop into his hands. He kept on crying out ‘I'm sorrys' and ‘It should've been mes.' Blaine looked up and pushed back Kurt's hair diligently. Then, the faintest of twitches occurred on Kurt's right eye. Blaine held his breath and grabbed Kurt's hand again. Kurt started opening his eyes and Blaine jumped up and hugged him tightly around the waist peppering kisses around his face and burying his head in his neck.
“Oh my, God, Kurt. I thought I lost you forever,” Blaine said in a muffled voice from where his head was resting in the crook of Kurt's neck. Blaine pulled back when Kurt started kicking and pushing and yelling. Blaine tried to calm him down, but stopped dead in his tracks when Kurt shouted, “who the hell are you and why are you kissing me?!”
