Kurt smiled. “Thanks, guys. I’m really glad that you guys are here for me. All of my other friends are off doing their own thing in New York or California. I’m stuck here in Lima, Ohio. You guys are my only outlet. I could’ve been something big, y’know. That damn car crash changed everything. We were on our way to New York. I was ready to start looking for auditions to get me on Broadway and Blaine, he had a record deal. We had our futures all laid out for us. Then that damn drunk teen had to hit us.” A silent tear fell from Kurt’s eye. “Kurt… I’m so sorry” Wes said in a quiet voice. This was the first time that Kurt had told anybody about this. “He was my first and only love” Kurt whispered “I told him that I’d never say goodbye to him. I haven’t. I never will. He’ll be my only love.” He looked up at Wes, Nick, and Trent with teary eyes. “Remember when I first came here to Dalton?” The three nodded silently, “You guys sang Teenage Dream and you truly were rock-stars.” Kurt continued, “Watching you guys do that was the first time that I’d smiled, honestly smiled, in months. The way you guys accepted me right away, it made me feel like I was not alone. And Blaine, he was the light in my life.” He smiled, remembering everything that Blaine had done for him before and during the time that they dated. “After the third day I knew him, I knew that I was in love.” Kurt paused for a second, letting his friends think. Wes smiled, looking up at Kurt, “It took a while for Blaine to realize that he felt the same way, though. He was as oblivious as one could get when it came to love.” Wes said squeezing Kurt’s hand. Kurt, Nick, and Trent all laughed at the same time. “When I saw the connection that you two had with each other, I knew that you would be together forever.” Trent said smiling. “Turns out it was true” he continued, handing Kurt a tissue. Kurt smiled and wiped at his eyes. “Thank you, guys. I really mean it. I hadn’t told anyone about the crash before. About what happened. It feels as if a huge weight had been lifted off of my chest; to finally get it out.” Kurt smiled and checked his phone. “Oh shit. It’s midnight. I should get going.” He said standing up, “It was nice talking to you guys. We should do it more often” Kurt said hugging Wes, then Trent, then finally, Nick. “Tell Quinn I said hi” he whispered into his ear before turning to the door and walking out. For the first time in a long, long time, Kurt felt a little less lonely.
