Author's Notes: It has some spoilers from Micheal in it...
Kurt sighed as he typed out another paragraph of his review of Ohio State’s production of Once On This Island. He had decided that, if his dream of being a Broadway star never worked out, he would be a writer, or in this case, a critic. It was a job that was a combination of his two favorite things: writing and going to see musicals. Whenever there was a performance nearby, Kurt would go to it and watch it. He wasn’t a famous critic or anything. He had a section in the Ohio newspaper and had his own blog, but nothing that was too big or important. He didn’t even really pay attention to who would read his critiques and only did it as an escape from the stress of daily life. For all he knew, the only people that would really read his work were Rachel Berry and the rest of his friends from the New Directions.

Just as he finished his last sentence and saved, his phone vibrated on his desk. He answered, not knowing who the caller was. “Hello?” Kurt said quietly, clearing his throat. “Um Hi, Kurt. It’s Sebastian.” A voice that he had heard just hour before said. “Oh hi! Are you calling about those tickets?” Kurt said inquisitively. “Yeah. I got them! The play starts at eight. So, you’ll have to come early and get them. If you just tell the ticket lady your name, she’ll give them to you.” Sebastian said quickly. “Um, Okay great! I’ll be sure to do that!” Kurt said excitedly. West Side Story was one of his favorite musicals, aside from Wicked, of course, and he was happy that he had an opportunity to see it.

“…Kurt?” Sebastian said nervously. “I was thinking, that, um, after the show, we could go get coffee or dinner or something.” Kurt almost dropped his phone. Did Sebastian just ask him out on a date? “Yeah. Sure.” Kurt said slowly. “But let me make this very clear, Sebastian. This is NOT a date.” Sebastian responded quickly. “Um yeah sure, Kurt. Whatever you want. Um, I gotta go to… rehearsal! Yeah! Rehearsal! Bye, Kurt! Talk to you later!” Kurt heard a click. “…Sebastian?” Kurt said slowly.
No Answer.
Kurt looked at his phone. Sebastian had hung up on him. Great. He’d have to explain after the show. He sighed, closed his laptop, and stood up. He looked at his watch.
3:52.
He had about four hours until the show started. Kurt walked into his kitchen to get a glass of water. As he was filling his glass up, he called out. “Hey, Everett, you want somethi-“ he stopped short as he remembered what had happened earlier that day. Everett was at Dalton. Kurt was alone.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number that he knew by heart. “Dalton Academy” a female voice said cheerfully. “Hi! Is Nick, I mean Mr. Duval on? It’s Kurt Hummel-Anderson.” “Oh! Hi Kurt! Let me check quickly. I believe that he’s available.” The receptionist said, Kurt only had to wait a few seconds before she returned. “I’ll connect you to hi now!” “Okay Thanks!” Kurt said quickly before he heard a click. “Hey Kurt!” A cheery voice said, “I’ve missed you, bud!” Kurt smiled as he heard his old friend’s voice. “Hey Nick! I’ve missed you too! I was wondering… Did you see Everett around campus today?” Kurt said hopefully. “Well I haven’t. But Wes said that he saw a familiar face in his English class today. Someone with the same witty sense of humor as one Kurt Hummel-Anderson. And I’m pretty sure that, during a meeting for Warblers tryouts, Trent put him on the spot by saying that he is ‘the lovechild of two of the greatest and most courageous Warblers that Dalton has ever had’ ” Kurt smiled. “Oh, Trent. Still as caring and sassy as he always was. It’s nice that some of the Warblers stayed to work at Dalton. At the next parent-teacher conference, we are ALL going to The Lima Bean to get coffee afterwards.” Nick laughed. “I’ll make sure to tell Trent and Wes!”

“Do you need anything else?” Nick said inquisitively, “Or did you just wanted to see if Everett was doing okay?” Kurt paused for a moment. “…There’s something else that I need to tell you. But it’s Warbler confidential.” Nick suddenly sounded more interested. “What is it, Kurt?” Kurt took a deep breath. “Well… after I dropped Everett off at Dalton, I went to the cemetery to go visit Blaine. Only, I wasn’t the only one at his grave.” Kurt paused for a second. “Nick, Sebastian was there. He’s in Ohio because he’s in West Side Story, and they’re doing a national tour. He decided to ‘come and visit’ Lima. But I talked to him. And he apologized for everything. It was nothing like the Sebastian Smythe that we know. At first I was convinced that he had a twin and that this was the ‘nice twin’. But that’s highly unlikely. It was weird. But, He invited me to go see his show tonight. And I’m going. But, he just called me. And I think he just asked me out on a date.” Kurt paused for a second, letting Nick process all of this. “So, Wait…. Sebastian. Sebastian SMYTHE is back in Lima, Ohio. He was at your husband’s grave, apologized for all of the shit that he did to you, and he just asked you out on a DATE?” Nick said loudly. “What did you say?” Kurt sighed. “I said yes. I made it VERY CLEAR that it wasn’t a date. No matter what. After I said that, he just said that he had to go and rehearse or something, and hung up on me.” Kurt sighed and waited for Nick to respond.

“What if he’s just lying, Kurt? What if he is still evil? He DID try to slushie you with rock salt.” Nick said with worry in his voice. “I just don’t want you to get hurt again.” Kurt sighed, recalling that one moment in the parking garage. He’d never forget Blaine’s screams. They still came back in his nightmares. “I don’t think that he was faking it, Nick. If you saw him, he looked like a changed man. Maybe he really does have a heart. Not just a block of ice lying in his chest.” “Just be careful, Kurt.” Nick added. “Should I tell Wes and Trent about this? Trent knew Sebastian the best, I think. Well, Sebastian made fun him the most.” Kurt thought about it for a second. “Yeah. Tell them. They should know. I gotta go get ready for the show, Nick. I’ll call you tomorrow or after or something to see if you were right. Keep an eye out for Everett, will ya? He’s a prankster. Just like Blaine.” Kurt smiled as nick responded. “Of course I will, Kurt. Let’s keep in touch. Bye.” “Bye” Kurt hit the end call button and put his phone down. He sighed and thought about what Nick had said. “Maybe I should bring the mace that I bought for Everett. Just to be safe” Kurt said quietly to himself as he walked to his bedroom.

hmmm. i'm not sure of what to think about seb. i never expected seb to 1. apologize to kurt for his behavior and 2. ask kurt out on a date. maybe seb has grown up and matured over the last 11 years. but i can't help but think that seb either 1. really is interested in kurt or 2. this is his way of holding onto blaine any way he can. i don't know...maybe i'm just overanalyzing this too much...

I seriously Have no clue what's gonna happen with Sebastian either. I don't plan the future of my fic. It just sorta comes to me. Whatever happens, happens.
