Author's Notes:

A/N: Right so bare with me here on this Kurt is sick fic with ups and downs and twists and turns and...yeah hopefully. Maybe they'll find love along the way? Other characters will definitely make appearances later. I have know idea where this is going to go yet so it's just a roller coaster of fun I guess.

Happy reading!

"Blaine! Blaine wake up! You'll be late for school!"

One Blaine Anderson groaned and turned over in his bed as his roommate, Aaron yelled at him to get up. The boy with the black spiky hair gave a frustrated sigh and decided that it was time to resort to drastic measures. Gripping the edge of Blaine's mattress, Aaron yanked it up so it was halfway sticking in the air. Blaine tumbled to the floor still tangled in his mass of blankets, emitting a loud thud as he crashed onto it.

"What the hell?!" the curly-haired boy shrieked as he sat up immediately, glowering at his roommate. Aaron clicked his tongue and crossed his arms over his chest.

"You wouldn't wake up. I had to do something." he said. Blaine narrowed his eyes. Aaron shrugged. "Get ready sleepyhead. You've already slept through breakfast."

That was enough to alert the Junior into a panic. He jumped up from the floor, feet tripping over his blankets and dashed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him. Aaron smirked. Of course, Blaine didn't need to know that he still had plenty of time left for breakfast. All that mattered was that the boy was getting ready for school.

Down the hall in another dorm room, a similar scene played out. Okay, not particularly as gruesome but still similar. In this particular room, it was kind of more unusual. One Kurt Hummel never failed to wake up right on time to his alarm. The same was true for this particular morning, however, he barely batted an eye, groaned, turned over and went back to sleep.

His roommate and fellow Warbler Trent Nixon became immediately concerned. It wasn't like Kurt to go back to sleep without turning the alarm off. Hell, it wasn't even like Kurt to go back to sleep.

Trent slipped his feet into his shoes and quietly crossed the room to Kurt's bed. He reached out a hand to gently shake Kurt's shoulder and withdrew it the moment he brushed the fabric of the pale boy's pajama shirt. He felt like he'd just been burned. Heat was radiating off the other boy like crazy. This was by no means normal, or a good thing. Trent's first notion was to go find the school nurse but then he remembered her office hours wouldn't officially start until school did so he was out of luck.

The best he could do was hope that he was imagining things and Kurt would be fine. With a sigh, he shut off Kurt's alarm and prayed that he would still see the boy in class. With one last fleeting look at the pale boy, Trent grabbed his book bag and left the room.

Blaine was not particularly happy with Aaron when he found out that he still had time to eat breakfast. He used it more as an opportunity to pretend to be extremely angry at his roommate though Aaron knew he was faking it. But he played along anyway. It wasn't like they were really close friends.

Blaine found it slightly unusual that he didn't see Kurt, his best friend, at breakfast that morning. The boy never missed a meal and in truth Kurt had always been the first of the two of them to show up, saving Blaine a seat at their usual table. Blaine secretly wished he could be Kurt's roommate. He didn't think Trent and Aaron would mind but he was too polite to ask one of them if they would switch rooms.

Speaking of Trent, Blaine spotted the chubbier Warbler across the dining hall and gave him a look that seemed to question Kurt's absence without him having to say anything. Trent merely frowned and shrugged, looking thoroughly confused. Well, if that didn't have Blaine even more puzzled, he didn't know what would. He decided to shake it off and pass it off as nothing. Kurt might just be having an off day and he contented himself with the thought that he would see the boy in class.

But Kurt did not show up to class. First period French was Kurt's favorite class and he was really good at it. There was no way he would miss it and given the fact that he and Blaine had that class together, Blaine was used to having Kurt help him a bit when he was stuck. It was when the whole period had gone by with no sign of Kurt that Blaine really started to worry.

As such, the curly-haired boy couldn't concentrate in the rest of his morning classes. He decided to skip lunch in favor of finding out what was wrong with his best friend.

"Whoa!" said a voice, putting out a hand to halt Blaine in his tracks as the hazel-eyed boy was running toward the dorms. The voice belonged to Wesley Montgomery, a good friend of Blaine's who was also head of the Warblers council and one year older than Blaine. Standing beside him was his best friend David Thompson, also on the Warblers council and a year older than Blaine. "Where's the fire Blaine?" Wes went on.

"Yeah, I thought you remembered the dining hall was the other direction," David added with a laugh. Wes frowned at him.

Blaine darted around both boys and looked back as he kept running. "Kurt didn't show up for breakfast or French. I'm going to check on him," he shouted as he continued on down the hallway. Wes and David just glanced at each other, thoroughly confused.

When Blaine reached Kurt's dorm room about two minutes later, he reached into his pocket for the spare key Kurt had given him. Pulling it out, he quickly unlocked the door and darted into the room.

Kurt was still fast asleep in bed, a sign that something was definitely horribly wrong. "Kurt?" Blaine whispered, carefully approaching the bed. The pale boy didn't stir and as he got closer Blaine noted how incredibly white Kurt looked. The boy's skin was naturally very pale in tone but now he looked as white as a sheet, paper even. Blaine swallowed.

"Hey Kurt?" he asked, voice louder and now standing beside his friend's bed. Still Kurt didn't stir. Blaine cautiously reached out a hand and placed it on the other boy's forehead. He quickly withdrew it as the skin seemed to burn his hand raw. "Good God!" he shouted so loud it could wake the whole dorm building had they all been asleep just than.

It was at that precise moment that Blaine something was seriously wrong with his best friend. Fore not only did Kurt have an alarmingly high temperature, he still hadn't stirred a single muscle at the sound of Blaine's shout, which should have woken him up surely. Blaine began to panic. He fumbled for his cell phone in his pocket and dialed Wes' number quickly.

"Hel--"

Blaine cut him off.

"Wes! Get the school nurse and bring her up to Kurt's dorm immediately! He's got a fever like a volcano and nothing is waking him up!"

Wes could clearly hear the panic in his friend's voice and his face overlaid with concern. "I'm on it," he replied, hanging up the phone and dashing out of the dining hall, leaving a stunned David behind, a bite of salad halfway to his mouth.

Not five minutes later, Wes came barging into Kurt's dorm room with the nurse in tow. The pretty young brunette woman pushed both boys out of the way and rushed to Kurt's bedside. She expertly maneuvered a thermometer into the unconscious boy's mouth.

After a few minutes, she looked at the thermometer and turned to both boys. "One of you call an ambulance immediately," she said sternly. Blaine felt as though the whole world had come crashing down around him.

That's okay that it was quick! :P I was rushing out the door so I had to finish it quick, or else the chapter would have been longer. :)
