Chapter 22
"Hey can I come in?"
"I guess." Candy shrugged. "Don't stay to long though. I Don't my room to smell like GoodWill."
Devon took offense to that. She lowered her head staring at her hands which were in her lap. Don't let her talk to you like that! Yeah, she wish she could stand up for herself like that. She always let bullies pick on her in school and now even at 35, she was still scared of them. "You need to stop." She snapped.
Candy stopped putting on her red lip stick and slowly turned around to face her. Did she just stick up for her self? She never did that. "Hum, would you look at that? It looks like the crazy cat lady finally grew a back bone." She snarled turning back to the mirror.
"You don't talk to me like that!" She said forcefully turning her around. "I am the adult here. You are 19 I am 35."
"You know, I don't even know why I stay here anymore." Candy responded tossing her cherry lip stick into her makeup bag. "Bunch of losers." She mumbled under her breath.
"Losers? Why? because they want to get help? Because they actually want a life-"
"LEAVE. ME. ALONE!" She yelled up in her face. "I don't need to stay here."
"I hate to break it to you Candy but, this is all you have left."
That hit her like a slap to the face. Her heart stopped beating. was it always this hot in this room? She speechlessly sat on the bed trying to make it obvious that she wasn't crying. "You don't know that."
Devon let of a huff as she ignored her immature attitude. "You think I'm going to let you go back to your dad?" She said lowering her voice. "He molested you-"
"NO HE DIDN'T!" She yelled before breaking into a sob. She tried to fight the arms being wrapped around her but Devon was too strong. "He didn't." She said completely heart broken.
"Shhhh, it's alright." Devon cooed as she tried to stop the sobs coming from the very petite girl. "It's not your fault."
Candy covered her face with her hands as she just cried. It felt good to just cry. All those feeling she had just exploded.
"Candy, let me help you. Please." Devon begged. "You know when your young everything feels like the end of the world; it's not. It's just the beginning."
"You know you might have to meet a couple of jerks but one day your gonna find, and meet a boy Who treats you the way that you deserve to be treated." She said getting emotional. "Don't let your father ruin that for you. He doesn't deserve to have a daughter like you."
"You really think so?" She asked with a sniffle.
"I know so." She said smiling at her.

"My hair looks like a storm cloud."
Kurt giggled, running his fingers through Devon's curls with a gasp. "Oh my God! Why is it so soft?!"
"Because it's horrible, Kurt!" Devon exclaimed with a small smile. "Look at it, it's so poufy!"
"Oh my god you sound like Blaine!" Kurt retorted.
"Why he has these problems too?" she asked.
"Yep! sometimes his hair looks like a brick If it's not gelled but it's cute though." He smiled twisting his finger around a curl. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head, and he smiled brilliantly. "Tell you what. Let me show you how to control your hair and get you ready for yo man."
"Good luck," Devon laughed. "I've tried."
"Yes, but you don't have magical hair powers," Kurt pointed out making Devon smile. "Alright." Kurt said, clapping his hands once. "Ready for a makeover?"
"Well, not ready, per se, but I trust you. Do with me what you will," Devon commanded playfully.
"No peeking," Kurt demanded with a gentle tap on Devon's nose. She smiled as he began to examine the locks of curls.
"Hmm…OK, I have just the thing," he said, reaching over to grab a tall purple can. "This is mousse. It'll help with control, but won't make your hair so hard that I can't run my fingers through it." He accentuated that statement while doing the action. "It's just so soft!"
"Alright, It's soft we get it. Now, work your hair magic!" Devon said spiritedly. Kurt smiled, letting their conversation fall into silence as he worked the white product into Devon's hair, scraping his fingers lightly on her scalp. "Feel good?" Kurt smiled.
"Absolutely wonderful. Will you do my hair all the time?"
Kurt chuckled finishing up his creation. "Alright, you're done! Take a look."
Kurt got out of the way guiding her to face the mirror. Devon's eyes widened at the sight of her hair, her curls still obviously there, but more subdued and controlled. "Wow!" Devon said, feeling her hair. "I love it! Thanks so much."
"You're very welcome," Kurt replied bending down to pick up her makeup bag. "Is this all you have?"
"Yep. I don't wear a lot as you can probably tell-"
"It's fine I just was thinking of what to do." He took a look at her before beginning. "Kay. We're going to give you a smoky eye considering it's night. Never EVER do this during the day. It like those people who wear bathing suits when there not going to the pool. Don't even get me started."
Devon laughed as he applied the dark powder to her eye. "Are you sure that's going to look good? It's pretty dark."
Kurt held up his hand. "Devon what did we talk about?"
"No questioning thou sir Hummel till finished."
"Very good." Kurt responded before they bursted out laughing. "Oh gosh I haven't had this much fun in awhile."
She smiled as she puckered her lips for him to appy lip stick.
"Kay hair, eyes, blush, lipstick, ah!" He mumbled to himself slathering a thick layer of lip gloss to her lips. "There!"
She got up taking a view of herself. She imagined she'd look a circus clown. Boy, was she wrong! "Holy shit Kurt!" She cussed making Kurt laugh. "I look-I look-"
"Hot." Kurt finished for her with a grin.
"Yeah that!" She laughed. "Wow!" She couldn't believe she was even looking at herself. She looked like one of the popular girls she used to go to school with. "Wow thank you so much! It's gonna make me cry." She laughed fanning her face.
"Ah sweetie don't cry. It'll make your mascara run." Kurt said handing her a tissue. Damn did he love a good makeover.
"Thank you so much." She said wrapping her arms around him.
"Anytime."

Kurt smiled watching from his window as Devon greet her husband with a kiss. They were cute. They were extra "cutsie" like him and Blaine...
Kurt let out a long sigh. He missed him crazy. He kept telling himself he had two more months but it was like time was mocking him. Minutes seemed like hours in this place.
He looked down at his ring. "Courage." He whispered to himself with a soft smile.
He decided to look up wedding ideas while he was here. Why not right?
Oh they had to get married on valentines day. That was a must. Blaine would probably agree too. He always wanted to get married in time square. He didn't know if Blaine would go for that though. Blaine was more private then that-
Knock knock knock
Kurt got up figuring it was Devon forgetting her lip gloss. He ran to the bathroom grabbing the little tube before answering the door. "Hum look who forgot their-Candy?"
Comments
Aww Candy! I'm happy that we all know more about her besides the fact that shes pretty much rude to everyone. I like the fact that even though Devon is 35 and working at the rehab shes still learning about herself and helping Kurt and Candy (Probably others too) in the process! Idk why but I imagine Devon as Julia Roberts haha is that too much?
HAHAHAHAHA! No I didn't, but now that you mention it I can. If this ever gets turned into a movie Julia will be the first one I call. ;) thanks for reading! :)
I wish I could see what she looks like. :p oh we'll. nice cheaply. What's candy up to now?
Wow, thanks for all the positive feedback! :D hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading. :)
