Chapter 17


Kurt took a deep breath as the car pulled up in front of the airport. He gulped, then looked at Blaine. "Blaine I don't want to go."

Blaine let out a long sigh. "I know honey but, you have to go." 

"I'm so scared." Kurt said crying into his hands. "Please don't make me go."

Blaine pulled his boyfriend into a hug. "Shhh." To be honest Blaine didn't want him to go either. It took every bone in his body to fight it, but it was hard. Kurt was going without a question even if Blaine had to physically drag him on to the plane. He needed to get better.

"It'll be ok. I promise. Five months will be over before you know it. I don't want to be apart from you but if that means you'll finally get the help you really need then I'm happy."

"I'm not going." Kurt said locking the door and crossing his arms. Nope, no way was he doing this without Blaine. Colorado was a long way from Ohio and he had never been there before. He needed to be close to Blaine. 

"Kurt." Blaine argued. "We can't pretend that nothing is wrong. You need help. Theres nothing wrong for asking for help. It's really hard to watch you in this much pain. And I'm terrified your going to accidentally kill yourself." Blaine cried. "I was so scared that night when I was sitting in the ambulance. Watching them trying to wake you up was..." Blaine broke off in a sob unable to even utter what he felt that night. "It will haunt me forever...I can't live without you Kurt because your my everything. And if I lost you I don't know if I could live with myself knowing that I could have done more."

Kurt sniffled into his chest knowing that he had to go. "I'll miss you so much."

"I know sweetie. I'll miss you too." Blaine cried hugging his boyfriend as tight as possible. "Your strong Kurt." Blaine said sincerely. "Don't let anyone tell you different. You can do this. I believe in you."

Kurt nodded whipping his tears. "I love you so much." 

"Love you too."

Kurt began to open his door when Blaine stopped him.

 "wait." Blaine took a deep breath. "I got you a going away gift."

Kurt raised an eyebrow as Blaine handed him a little box with a bow on the top. The wrapping paper was so cute! Kurt just wanted to snap a picture of the little present. It was so perfectly wrapped. 

Kurt slowly unraveled the little present revealing a deep red velvet box. Kurt gasped when he opened it. Tears pooled his eyes once more, this time of happiness.

 "I tell you I love you a lot, right?"

"Of course you do," Kurt quickly responded.

Blaine smiled and began, "I never tell you exactly why, though. For years I had a list. It started simply with your eyes and your smile. But some day, I don't know when, it changed. I decided to list the way you scrunch up your face with dislike for things, the way you jump a bit and clap when you are really excited. The way you look at me when you say you love me. God, Kurt, I could go on all day about every thing I love about you. But I had this list. Not too long ago I realized a list wouldn't do it. I just love everything about you. There isn't a single thing I hate. There never will be a thing I hate. I just love you so much."

Tears were falling freely from Kurt's eyes now.

Blaine started again, "When I met you, you were standing above me. I looked at you like this. And you know what? I never would've guessed that I would being looking at you this many years later just like this, preparing to ask you to marry me. No, not because it wasn't legal most places before, but because I never thought I would meet anyone like you."

"I wanted to give you this before you go to remind you when your feeling shitty or hopeless that it will all be worth it in the end." Blaine said taking the ring out of the box..."Kurt, will you marry me?"

Kurt smiled and nodded fastly. "Yes! Yes! A million times Yes!" Kurt said inbetween kisses. 

Blaine grinned against Kurt's lips but it quickly fated remembering they had a flight to catch. "Shit babe! The plane."

Blaine quickly slammed the car door as he got Kurt's suit case out of the trunk. "Ready?" He asked taking Kurt's hand. 

Kurt nodded.

Blaine and Kurt looked like idiots as they rushed threw the airport. Blaine even bumped into someone who was drinking coffee and it split all over his while Banana Republic sweater. To say the least he was pissed.

When they finally got to the gate, the flight attendant was already boarding people. 

Blaine fixed Kurt's jacket and brushed a little lent off his jacket. 

"Blaine can we not groom me in the middle of the airport!" Kurt giggled. Blaine had the tendency to clean when he was nervous. Kurt always thought it was adorable. 

Kurt gave him a sympathetic smile. "Sorry. Nerves ya know?"

"Yeah." Kurt said taking his hand. "I'll be ok, like you said."

"I know. I just care about my fiancée." He teased.

Kurt's heart swelled at the word. That felt so weird but, so...right. He couldn't wait to come home and marry the man of his dreams. 

"People with small children will now be boarding."

Kurt knew they were running out time. "I love you."

"I love you too. More then you'll ever know."

Kurt hugged his boyfriend putting his head in the nook of Blaine's neck. They just held each other like they were the last two people on earth. 

"Be safe ok?" Blaine said seriously. 

"I will." Kurt said as the tears began to prick his eyes. 

"Economy seats one threw sixteen will now be boarding."

Kurt wish he could just stop time. He didn't want to let go figuring that would be his last hug in awhile. 

"Come on baby, that's you." 

"I know." Kurt said with his voice cracking. 

"Remember this is for the better." Blaine said caressing Kurt's cheek before pressing a passionate kiss to his lips.

"I love you." Kurt cried.

"Love you too."

Kurt walked up to the flight attendant who buzzed his card. Kurt looked back  at Blaine once more who was clearly crying. 

Blaine blew him a air kiss which Kurt pretended to catch.

"Love you." He mouthed for the last time. 

"Love you too." Blaine mouthed back.
