  "Kurt!"
The wooden door to the bedroom flew open, revealing Kurt's breathless boyfriend, a look of utter panic cast across his face.
  "Oh my god Blaine!"
Kurt screeched. His pencil flew out of his hand, softly landing on Blaine's pile of clothes from the previous night. Blaine generally didn't clean the piles up for a while. As hot as it was, it did bother Kurt. He kept their small home almost spotless. Mess didn't distress Blaine nearly as much as it did Kurt. Blaine found that characteristic quite amusing.
"I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean to scare you."
Blaine walked the few feet to the desk at which Kurt was studying for class. He captured Kurt's face delicately between his cold hands and gingerly kissed him. When he finally let his hands fall, a small patch of red was left on each one of Kurt's pale cheeks where the cold had seeped through.
Blaine knelt down on his knees, looking up at Kurt with puppy eyes.
  "Ok."
  Blaine took a deep breath.
"I let Allegro out to go for a walk. We started out just fine. But then he saw a squirrel and since I was holding the leash with a lot of slack. He took off and started chasing it. Oh my god Kurt. I am so sorry."
"Blaine. What am I going to do with you and that dog. You two are worse than this paper, and that's saying something."
Kurt rested his elbows on his knees and let his fingers support his head at the temples. He made a defeated expression, which made Blaine emit a throaty chuckle. Try as he might, Kurt's frustrated faces only made him look adorable, not angry.
"I guess we should go find that little rascal."
Kurt stood up in unison with Blaine, using each other for support. They only ceased holding hands for a moment in the kitchen so they could put on their coats. Kurt grabbed a handful of treats from a bag on top of the kennel. Blaine went out and bought a medley of treats in expectation of the new arrival.
They stepped outside into the late fall air, hand in hand. The couple walked down the asphalt driveway, leaving vague footsteps in the meager dusting of snow.
             ---
At last they found him, playing on a small pile of snow that hadn't melted yet from a few days ago. Snow was such a whimsical thing for the youngster. Blaine breathed out a large sigh of relief that they had found him, as well as close to the house. He looked so happy, just jumping around that Kurt and Blaine decided to watch him for a few minutes. The picture as a whole was quite adorable. Allegro's black fur contrasting against the white snow. The little eyebrows moving with every twitch of his ear. The slight smell of wet dog and autumn. The large tan feet mixed with the small body.
"Come on Allegro!", Blaine said in a generic puppy voice.
Blaine picked him up and fed him a treat, savoring the moment. Allegro wouldn't be small forever being a Rottweiler.
Kurt giggled a little at the moment. Blaine's untamed curls, slowly being covered with falling snow, his bright face mouthing words at the sleepy dog in his arms. Blaine looked just like a little kid.
"Oh my gosh Blaine", Kurt said, a hint of laughter in his voice. He ran his fingers through the bouncy curls Blaine called his hair, releasing the snow from its hold.
"What are we going to do with you two", Kurt pat Allegro's head, causing the dog to nip at his thumb. Using the same hand, he embraces Blaine's waist, pulling him close. The family walked like this the rest of the distance home.
