Author's Notes: Tell me again, was it love at first sight when I walked by and you caught my eye?

I hope Kurt didn't notice. I at least hope he's over my stupidity...

I walk to the park where I saw him last time. I smile as I see Kurt on the bench, eyes closed--not asleep, though. As I get closer, I wonder what I'm doing. What do I do? I didn't plan this far ahead...Okay, I really should have, but half of me was thinking Kurt was just a dream, that I'd never see him again.

I move the book on the bench over and sit down next to him. I brought my guitar today, because I like to play when I'm at this park. When Kurt doesn't move, I'm guessing he might really be asleep. I sigh. At least now I have some time to think.

------------------------------------------

I open my eyes when I hear someone playing guitar--right next to me.

"Met a boy in the parking lot,
And all I did was say hello.
His pepper spray made it rather hard
For me to walk him home,
But I guess that's the way it goes."

I didn't know Blaine had a voice like that. I shake my head. That's not what I should be thinking about. Why does this song seem so fitting to our situation? Well, it is, except for that part about meeting in the parking lot, but whatever.

I notice Blaine looking right at me as he sings the next two lines.
"Tell me again was it love at first sight
When I walked by and you caught my eye?"

I shake my head at him. Maybe it was for him, but I'm not in love with this stranger.

"Didn't you know love could shine this bright?" I shake my head again in response. This is not love. Blaine's dellusional, wishfully thinking, or he really likes this song. I'm guessing it's one of the first two.

"Well smile because you're the deer in the headlights."

I smile fakely at him and drop it just as quickly with a slight eye roll. "What the heck was that?"

"I didn't know you were awake...I brought my guitar here and I was a little bored so I decided to play one of my favorite songs, that's all."

"What's the song called? Who's it by?" I don't know why I'm asking this; I guess it's because want to make sure he didn't write it specifically about me, because that would be creepy.

"'Deer in the Headlights' by Owl City."

A little relieved, I say, "Okay. Then why were you looking straight at me?"

"I'm not allowed to even look at you?!" He averts his eyes mock-fearfully.

"Is everything a joke to you?"

He shrugs. "Pretty much." Even that's a joke.

"Honestly," Blaine says, looking serious, "I really need to sort my feelings out...singing is how I do that best. I was listening to music last night and this song came on. It's always been one of my favorite songs, but now I kind of understand it better, because I'm in a similar situation." Blaine blushes a bit at that last part. It's kind of surprising that he's trying to be honest with me, no matter how much he ends up embarrassing himself.

I don't know why, but his admission makes me soften a bit. "Blaine...I'm sorry I snapped at you...I just...we barely know each other, and you're kind of...well, to be honest, you're kind of creeping me out."

"I'm sorry," he tells me, and it seems like he really does mean it. Jokingly, he asks, "Was it love at first sight?"

I smile and joke, "Yes! I was so consumed by my love for you that I had to restrain myself from kissing you right then and there! You took my breath away!"

He laughs, but only half-heartedly. His gaze is not focused, and, concerned, I'm about to ask him what's wrong, but Blaine gets up to leave. For once, I don't want him to.

------------------------------------------

I was so consumed by my love for you that I had to restrain myself from kissing you right then and there. You took my breath away. It's like he took the words out of my mouth, but only used them to joke around.

"Blaine? Why don't we get some ice cream?"

Surprised, I turn around. This is much different than how he acted yesterday.

"But..."

Kurt says, "Come on. Let's get to know each other better. Remember yesterday when we became friends? Friends should know each other better than this."

"I thought you just said that to get me to leave you alone?"

He doesn't answer. Finally, Kurt says, "Come on, Blaine. I'll pay for your ice cream."

"Okay..."

End Notes: Okay, so I wasn't planning on them becoming friends so quickly, but I got stuck after the last chapter. :P
