In the morning, Blaine heard his alarm going off and quickly mentally turned it off and turned in wonder to see a sleeping Kurt with his arms around Blaine.  Blaine gently untangled himself and got out of bed to go to the bathroom for his shower and to get dressed.  When he was finished he eased the door open and found Kurt still fast asleep so Blaine went over to his bedside cabinet to get his watch and looked at Kurt sleeping thinking ‘Gawd you really are beautiful Kurt and how glad you asked me to be your boyfriend’ with that he bent down a kissed Kurt as gently as he could on his brow before turning to leave with his keys and bag for the day ahead.

Before Blaine let himself out he activated a protective shield to be on the safe side and stepped out locking his door.  Upon turning he discovered Nick, Jeff, Wes, David and John.  Blaine’s surprise was evident upon his face as he said “Gee guys way to go to give me a heart attack!” Nick said “Oops! Sorry Blaine we thought you might like some support that’s all” grinning in chagrin but they continued onto the cafeteria for breakfast.  “So, how’s Kurt?” Jeff enquired on their missing friend and Blaine turned and said “Asleep when I left, umm we kind of agreed to go out as well” as he bit his lip slightly looking sheepishly at his friends, who as a group rushed him pounding him on the back, shoulder and hugging in stating all at once “Way to go Blainers! Congrats man. About bloody time knew it wouldn’t be too much longer.” The last being said by Nick as Blaine turned to Nick and asked “What do you mean by that Nick?” and Nick laughed looking over to Jeff saying “Well you were kind of obvious about your feelings for Kurt.” smiling at Blaine.  Blaine looked aghast answering “OMG was I that obvious guys” the others laughed good naturedly and continued into the cafeteria.

Upon entering the whole room quietened and everyone was staring at them, “Problem guys?” Jeff asked and the room went back to nervous chatting and continued looks over at the group.  As they waited in line for breakfast Blaine noticed Bas coming over to them and nodded a greeting “Bas?”

Bas looked at Blaine then the others and said “Okay Blaine I know we haven’t been on friendly terms of late but I am here to call a truce to all hostilities we have between out groups.  Did you know about the ‘Chancellor’ protocol being implemented here at Dalton?”  Blaine looked suspicious then dumbfounded about the whole situation but replied “Umm, okay and no I didn’t know about the activated protocol.  How do you know?”  Bas snorted through his nose smirking but said “I too have my BBF’s Blaine. I am surprised no-one told you yet?”

Just then David said “We were about to when you came over Bas.  So who told you?  Sam I expect he was always so in-tuned with the school and grounds.”  That wiped the smile from Bas’s face and he just harrumphed his agreement as Sam entered the conversation and said “Yeah well I heard and felt it being activated last night.  So why has the Dean done this?”

Wes and David just looked over to one another but said nothing Nick caught it but remain silent also.  With that Bas and Sam left the group to get their breakfast before school started.  Once they had sat at their table Nick asked “Wes, Dave what gives?” and David said “Well umm, Blaine don’t get angry or anything okay, but Wes and I were coming back from the common room and heard something unnatural shouting echoes going away from your room late last night and then went to the Dean’s office telling him and Mr Fredericks.” Blaine just groaned and said “Now what!” with frustration evident in his voice.  Just then the tannoy system sprung into life and stated “Will All pupils please make their way to the Auditorium now for a ‘Special’ announcement by the Dean.” Mrs Jenkins, the schools secretary stated.  Boys started to leave and the volume increased exponentially as expected over the sudden announcement.

Blaine and the others quickly finished their breakfast and hurried to make their way to the Auditorium and the announcement by the Dean.  They entered the building and found seats near the left-hand side, sat and waited for the Dean.  Just then Kurt arrived and Blaine waved him over saying I thought you were to sleep in this morning.”  Kurt replied “I was but being awoken by that stupid tannoy frightened me out of sleeping any further so I decided to get showered and dressed to come here.”

Suddenly there was a noise down the front and the Dean stood up in front of the Faculty and cleared his throat for the boys to quieten down.  “Right Gentlemen now I have your full attention I have a rather important bit of information to report some of you already know what this is but for those of you who don’t I will say that there exists a protocol called the ‘Chancellor’ protocol.  This protocol inhibits certain things to certain groups now and those involved are aware of it.  The other principle parts are that if anyone sees anything or anyone untoward to report the matter immediately to me or any of the Faculty members.”   The boys babbled and increased in volume again, and the Dean allowed it to continue for a little while then said “Boys you may continue to your classes now.  I wish to see Mr Fredericks’s class and they are to remain behind for now.”

The other boys all left some whispering and again looking over to the remaining seven boys – Blaine, Kurt, Wes, David, Nick, Jeff and John who were all waiting patiently to be told what they were remaining for.

When the Dean was satisfied that there were no ‘lingers’ he and some of the remaining faculty members, that were told to stay, came down off the stage and sat around the seven boys.  The Dean finally broke the silence by saying “Okay as you are now aware the ‘Chancellor’ protocol is in effect which means that whatever was ‘Haunting’ the dorms and attacking Blaine will no longer be able to come anyway near here or do the same thing ever again.  Kurt and Blaine both sighed a hugh sigh of relief upon hearing those words, but said nothing as they could tell there was something more unsaid.

Mr Fredericks looked over to the Dean who nodded ascent and he told the boys that their classes were to be stepped up from now on and that they were to receive special one-on-one training with different faculty members present and that Kurt especially was to be given extra classes from a ‘Special’ consultant outside of the school.

Kurt raised his eyebrow when he heard this but again said nothing, as Mr Fredericks continued with what he was explaining to the boys on what to expect in the coming weeks.

The Dean told them that they were to be handed their new schedules after leaving this impromptu meeting from Mrs Jenkins in her office.  They were not to repeat any of this outside of themselves and to go directly to the new assigned classes once they had picked up the new schedules.

Blaine looked at his new schedule and sighed this was epic they had him in the new assignments for nearly a whole day this was going to be tough.  He pushed on waving across at Wes and Kurt who were passing, then he made his way to the ‘Gods’ room passing through the portal and entering the classroom to find Mr Ripley and Mr Fredericks there waiting for him.  Blaine asked “Hi is it alright for me to come in?” both looked up from what they were discussing and called Blaine in to begin his intense introduction to A.P protective spells.

The hours wound down and Blaine felt exhausted he had never felt this tired in his entire life, but was relieved when Mr Fredericks told him that was it for today and he would see him again in two days’ time.  But before they let him go he was called over to Mr Ripley who told him to give him his wrists, Blaine asked “Like the first time?” Mr Ripley chuckled and said “Hardly the same but in a way yes.  I am going to give you a little boost to get you over the tiredness and show you how you can do the same for yourself then I want you to teach the others this trick okay Blaine.” Blaine nodded and answered “Yeah okay”.  With that Mr Ripley gave Blaine the restorative spell and showed him how to do it on himself when he reached a normal level again Blaine said “Wow I wish I had known about that before for finals” laughing.  Mr Ripley smiled and said “Okay Blaine you can go now and remember what we said and showed you today.  Mr Fredericks will see you in two days’ time.” 

Blaine left after what seemed hours and drifted over to the cafeteria for a much needed caffeine break and met Kurt there with Jeff and Nick.  After sitting down with them Jeff said “Well you seem chipper for doing the ‘Special’ A.P all day, what’s the secret.”  Blaine did chuckle then and said in response “I have to show you all later Mr Ripley’s orders” and smiled at the boys around the table.  He lingered his look on Kurt and blushed slightly when Kurt said “So you told the others then about us” and Blaine nodded before taking a sip of his coffee.

There was a commotion just outside the window from where they were sat overlooking the lawns and they could see quite clearly a dark spot upon what looked like a shield or force-field.  Kurt turned to the others and said “Well it seems that the ‘Chancellor’ protocol works” and went back to drinking his drink.

Soon the other boys of their particular group came in looking haggard and worn out, Blaine looked over and said “The sooner I teach you this the better we are all going to feel”

The table was a little crowded but nobody seemed to mind and they were enjoying each other’s company until another group came over and the dynamic changed to defensive.  Bas said “So Blaine want to tell us what’s going on?” Blaine knew what Bas wanted but decided to throw him off by saying confusedly “What do you mean Bas?”

Bas looked at Blaine and thought ‘Oh you been told not to say anything I get it’, he looked at the  group and then smiled disarmedly and shook his head “Okay boys lets go and leave these fairy folk to their own devices” smirking at the reaction from the boys sat down.  Bas and his group went over to their table and awaited one of the cronies to get their beverages.

Blaine turned away and whispered “Come on guys I still got to show this spell” gesturing to get up to go to their private common room, knowing that Bas and his cronies wouldn’t be able to follow.  They got up discarding their cups into the recycling bin and made their way joking and laughing to the common room.  Once settled in and relaxing in the chairs or settees, Blaine said “I was only shown this before coming to the cafeteria today, so bear with me if I go slowly for the first couple of times okay.” Then he settled down next to Kurt taking his wrists in his hands and easing the tension and replenishing Kurt’s energy.  Kurt raised his eyebrows as he felt terrific once again like he had awoken from a very good night’s sleep and asked Blaine “You have got to show me how you did that! I feel wonderful guys” Blaine laughed loudly at Kurt’s reaction but showed Kurt what to do and how to apply it to himself, and saw Kurt’s amazed reaction to his improved disposition.  Blaine then asked him to help show the others as they split off to do just that, it didn’t take long for the whole group to be back to normal or even heightened levels of their own awareness’s.

As they settled back John asked “Right I know I was gone for a few days but ‘Hello Kurt I’m John Denning III “laughing as Kurt recognised the surname and continued “So, when did you get here and how did you nab the monkey over there!” the others laughed at Blaine's reaction “HEY! No fair, no making fun of the height I told you” Kurt laughed along with the others as Blaine lurched towards John jumping up and over the furniture, as he chased John around the room finally diving at him bowling them both over.  Blaine made John who was the bigger boy relent over the monkey jibe and glared at the other boys for laughing.  Kurt was trying so hard to curtail his laughter over the ‘monkey’ antics of Blaine climbing over the furniture to get at john that when Blaine did glare at him he lost it and nearly fell off the chair he was sat on because of the laughter and that set everybody off.   Blaine recovered first and asked “What has got your funny bone tickled?”  Kurt tried to answer but it took three goes before answering “Monkey and then you climb over the furniture like the name to reach John.” He then broke off laughing hard again but apologised after looking at Blaine who wore a wounded frown and said “Oh Blaine you have to see the funny side and I for one needed to laugh like that it has been too long since I have done that.” Smiling and hoping to take any sting from his antics over the teasing of Blaine.

Blaine looked at Kurt sheepishly smiling and thought ‘trust me to react like that, then act out to do the thing I reacted too.  Kurt is right I need to see the funny side and to see him smiling, laughing like that well monkey it is’ then instead he just beamed a smile at him.

Kurt hiccup, as his breathe caught at Blaine’s full forced smile he was so head over heels with this young man, he knew he would have to tell his Dad and that Blaine would have to meet his family.  But, he said “Blaine what are you doing this weekend?”  Blaine replied “Umm, not sure yet but I might have to go home this weekend why?”  Kurt was wondering if he had overstepped the new relationship boundary but ploughed on saying “Well I have to go home to see the Family this weekend in Westerville so I thought maybe we could ‘hang’ out with one another?” Blaine raised his eyebrows and smiled again saying “You live in Westerville! Wow I had no idea you lived there that’s my hometown.” Kurt smiled and said “Okay, great so do you want to meet up and do something on the Saturday?” Blaine smiled easily again “Sure, umm, do you want me to come over to you?” Kurt knew he was right to carry on and smiled back at Blaine nodding and Blaine said “Okay about 10 in the morning then” Kurt was actually squirming in his seat at feeling so overexcited, but calmed down when he noticed Nick and Jeff looking over at them.

Kurt asked “Yes Nick, Jeff what?” Nick smiled and said “Umm, we all live in Westerville and we would like to ‘hang’ out too if that is okay but we’ll meet you at the mall at 11 instead” smiling at Blaine and Kurt.  Blaine was just about to say no when Kurt cut in and said “Oh it’s a double date then.” Catching both Nick and Jeff off guard as Kurt said “I knew it! You too are a couple” and they just looked abashed at being caught out.  Now it was Blaine’s turn to laugh out loud and Wes, David, and John who had been discussing something else stopped and John asked “What’s so funny ‘Monkey’” Blaine sighed but relented over the new nick-name and said “Kurt just caught those two out and did you know they were a couple?” John’s eyebrows shot up in surprise and even Wes and David looked over to nick and Jeff who were themselves now squirming in slight agitation.  All the three shock their heads and laughed with Wes saying “Wow Kurt how on earth did you catch those two out we never had a clue and you have been here how long?”  Kurt laughed lightly and said “Oh I thought they were a couple when I first met them, but decided not to say anything until now.” Smiling over to Nick he said “Yeah Nick that would be great to meet at the mall.”  Then David said “You guys all meeting up at the mall, When?” looking a bit disconcerted that he and the others had been left out of the circle.  Blaine answered “Saturday at Westerville at 11 in the mall.  Kurt is going home for the weekend and I have been summoned to my home for a weekend ‘Meet and Greet’ with the oldsters.  Nick overheard us and invited Jeff and himself on Saturday.”  David replied “Oh, right umm, could Marie and me tag along I know she wants to meet Kurt and well it would be good to All go out together hmmm.”  Kurt raised his eyebrow at this but laughed and said “More the merrier. What about you two Wes, John are you wanting to join us too?” Both named boys smiled and nodded as well, Blaine laughed again and said “Oh Boy this is going to be fun the mall won’t know what has hit it.”

Kurt mobile pinged with ‘Beyonce’ ringtone indicating that he had a text from his ‘Girl’ ‘Cedes and read laughing but said “Well boys it looks like we have more company as well my girls want to meet up on Saturday as well.  Finn had told them about me coming home for the weekend and now it looks like a sleepover at mine!”

Blaine smiled and asked “How many are we talking about?” Kurt thought and said “Well it could be just the girls and Finn but I have a feeling that ALL of the New Directions will want to come over too!”

“umm, can I suggest something” John said “Why not book a restaurant so we can all meet up for lunch and then take in the mall” then added “My treat Kurt just to welcome out newest member, okay?”

Kurt looked very pleased and said “Thank you John, but you don’t have to treat everyone we can go ‘Dutch’” but John just shook his head and said “No Kurt my treat I insist!”

“If you are sure?” Kurt still had reservations but Blaine lent over and said “No worries John has got this Babe.  Remember his surname ‘Denning’ his own personal allowance takes in mine, David, Wes’s and Nick’s together so don’t worry.”  Kurt asked “You left out Jeff” Blaine shook his head and said “Jeff is in another league his parents are Billionaires Kurt.” Kurt looked over to Jeff who had picked his thoughts up before Kurt could block them but he just smiled nodding over to him while Kurt knew he knew what he just thought and blushed.

Blaine had an inkling what he had thought and said “Hey I’m not too short on money too you know”

Kurt looked abashed at Blaine and thought ‘Wow How on earth can I even be on the same playing ground as these guys’ suddenly feeling well out of place he stood and made of the excuse of needing a shower and a change of clothes from his uniform then excused himself.

Outside he met Sam again as Blaine came rushing out after him and nearly collided with Sam in his haste to catch Kurt up.  “Oh Hi Sam” Blaine said in a neutral voice.  Sam tensed but looked over to Kurt and asked if he wanted to hang out in the other common room.  Blaine quickly turned to Kurt and said “Oh I thought you were headed back to you room for a shower” Kurt nodded and then spoke to Sam “Sorry Sam another time okay”.  Sam looked all but okay but nodded and walked away saying he would see him another time.

Blaine looked at Sam’s retreating back and said “Does he always do that when you are in ‘Our’ common room” Kurt nodded saying “Well I have only been in this one twice now but on each occasion he was waiting outside for me, Why?”  Blaine didn’t respond but just looked at where Sam had gone than said “Okay if I escort my Boyfriend back to his room” Kurt snorted at this but said “Sure” then they both left to walk to Kurt’s room.

Blaine waited in Kurt’s room whilst he showered and put on his clothes he chose from his wardrobe.  Kurt was chatting to Blaine through the door and then opened it and stepped through into his dorm room as Blaine looked up and astonishment written plainly upon his face, but said “WOW! Kurt you look WOW!”  Kurt preened on the praise and looked over to his boyfriend saying “Well I think you need to change also your uniform is getting wrinkled”

Blaine laughed but got off the floor and got his stuff together before heading for his room with Kurt in toe.  Blaine turned and caught Kurt staring at his arse and said “What?” Kurt smiled and said “Oh nothing just thinking what a nice arse you have” laughing as he made Blaine blush from his head to his toes. “Ugh K-Kurrt, no fair” Blaine stammered but quickly opened his room door only to be astonished to find absolute chaos in his room it had literally been torn to pieces everything he owned was torn, shredded or broken.  Kurt looked beyond Blaine and gasped at the destruction of his boyfriend’s room. “Blaine! OMG what has happened. How has this happened?” Blaine looked at Kurt with incredulity written upon his features saying “I… I don’t know OMG Kurt all my stuff, what has gone on and why me!” Kurt was immediately thrown back to his own memories and wondered if something had followed him here to Dalton. 

Just then John passed noticing both boys looking scared and astonished looking into Blaine’s room and then did the same “Bloody hell Blaine what the ….I’m calling Mr Ripley straight away” Blaine went to go into but was stopped by Kurt shaking his head and saying “Remember last time” Blaine stopped entering and then turned and said “Can we go back to your room please” with pleading puppy-dog eyes at Kurt.  Kurt response was to just take Blaine’s hand and lead a despondent young man to his room, he quickly entered his own room and closed the door quietly behind Blaine and turned around wrapping his arms around as his boyfriend wept into his chest and shoulder.

It was a further 10 minutes before Kurt had a knock on his door he rose from where he sat with Blaine and opened it to find Mr Ripley and Mr Fredericks looking concerned and asked to come in.  Kurt opened the door further and allowed the two men to enter looking out to see a group of boys looking concerned but giving a lot of encouragement for both boys.  He smiled at them then closed the door to give the men, Blaine and himself a little privacy.

He turned after closing the door and Mr Ripley stated “Blaine this is getting a little too dangerous for you here I think you would be safer with your parents at home”

Blaine looked up and just nodded he looked broken at the moment he didn’t understand why or how this had happened to him.  Then said “I thought the protocol effect was pretty strong deterrent for whatever was entering here Sir” Mr Ripley had the good grace to look slightly abashed and confused as everyone else over how this had happened.  “So did we, to be truthful Blaine, so did we” with that his cell rang and he answered it.

Mr Ripley got up and walked to the other end of the room talking to the other person as he explained what had gone on then came back saying “Yes he is hear do you wish to talk to him….. okay… Blaine it’s your father okay” Blaine looked at the phone and regarded it before slowly taking it from Mr Ripley “Hello Dad” he said “Yes Sir! I shall I will remain with Kurt. Yes Sir! Okay Sir! Mr Ripley he wishes to speak to you again Sir” as Blaine passed the cell over to Mr Ripley he caught Kurt’s reaction to how he spoke to his father.  Kurt thought that that was odd nearly no feeling what-so-ever, but noticed Blaine regarding him and he smiled encouragingly.  Blaine smiled tentively back at Kurt and waited for the two men to say anything else.

Mr Ripley hung up the cell and regarded both boys before asking something “Kurt, Blaine can I ask you both a question and I want the truth.  Are you romantically linked now or what?” Kurt blushed and Blaine looked slightly uncomfortable but said “Yes sir, we have only just started going out in fact we agreed just last night.  Why is there a problem?” Kurt looked over concern written upon his own face now.  Mr Ripley looked over at both boys and replied “Well, not for me personally or may I add Dalton Academy, but it’s your Father Blaine he has concerns regarding this as I think you are well aware of.”  Blaine just nodded his head and Kurt asked “Why? Has he said anything that would prejudice us” now it was Blaine’s turn to look very uncomfortable but he said “Yes Kurt let’s just say my Father isn’t the most noble of people when it comes to me being gay.  My Mother is okay with it as is my older Brother, Cooper but my Dad well it is of great concern for him.”

Kurt looked somewhat taken aback by that but still put on a brave face for Blaine and smiled encouragingly back at him, as they awaited the time until Blaine’s Father.

After about ¾ of an hour there was a knock at the door Mr Ripley got up and answered the door to a dark-haired authoritive figure who left no doubt that this was Blaine’s Father.  Blaine gulped and stood “Sir!” he said Blaine’s father looked over to him and gave a quick glance to Kurt, for Kurt to know that he had been evaluated and dismissed. 

“Blaine! What is this nonsense now boy!” Blaine’s Father asked without preamble, but before Blaine could answer Mr Ripley stated “Mr Anderson! There is no nonsense here have you been to see your son’s room yet?” Mr Anderson shook his head and said “No! His Mother wanted me to make sure Blaine was alright before I go and see the damage to his room.  Might I add that if Blaine is innocent of the damage to his room then the school will pay for it to be returned to normalcy and as to what he has lost it can be replaced, Yes!” with that Mr Anderson opened the door and walked out leaving a bewildered party and a mortified Blaine before Mr Ripley followed Mr Anderson to Blaine’s room.

After about 10 minutes they returned with Mr Anderson looking a bit shocked at the damage done to his Son’s room and said to Blaine “Are you okay Blaine?”  Blaine answered that he was still shocked but getting over the initial shock of finding his room in such a state.  “Okay say goodbye to your ‘friend’ and let’s get you home” turning to Mr Ripley he said “Thank you for your help and you too Mr Fredericks” nodding just to Kurt.

Blaine thanked the two Faculty members and then said “I’ll text you when I get home” then quietly “Talk later okay” Kurt nodded once and smiled waiting for everyone to vacate his room, but only Mr Anderson, Mr Ripley and Blaine left with Blaine shyly smiling and a wink to Kurt before he left.  Mr Fredericks had stayed and asked Kurt “How are you holding up that was quite a shock for both of you.” Kurt stayed quiet and then looked up to where Mr Fredericks was sitting at his desk and asked “I don’t won’t to appear rude but shouldn’t the protocol have stopped that sort of thing happening or even getting onto the grounds?”

Mr Fredericks just replied “Kurt there is something other than normal supernatural phenomenon happening here and in play at the moment and until either Mr Ripley or myself say otherwise you must stay here okay.  This room has been heavily protected even more so than the rest of the school and until we find out what we are dealing with this is your safest place to be.”  Kurt thought of Blaine and his safety then and asked “but what about Blaine?”

“Listen Kurt that is why we phoned Blaine’s father to come get him and to take him back to their house, it is one of the safest places on earth.  Especially with both his parents there to watch over him so don’t worry yourself about Blaine”

Just then Mr Ripley opened the door and said “Kurt I hope Mr Fredericks has told you what you must do.  You cannot go around campus alone but if you leave this room you will be in the company of either of us to make sure you are safe.  This thing is definitely fixated upon you and until we discover what it is then we can counter act how it is enabled to get in and out of Dalton with the protocol in effect.”

Kurt looked scared and thought OMG I just left my life to start anew and now this.  What the heck am I going to tell Dad. OMG I’m supposed to go home this weekend.  “Mr Ripley, Sir, umm I was due to go home for this weekend do you think I should?”

Mr Ripley said that it would be okay for him to go home as the problem seems to be with Kurt and Dalton Academy.  Although, by the time he was due to leave on Friday for the weekend they would have stopped the leaks and access to Dalton by the time that came about.”

Mr Ripley told Kurt to phone his cell if anything else happened that was weird and that he had told the boys not to bother you tonight, with that the two faculty members left closing the door behind them.

Five minutes later his cell beeped and it was a message from Blaine stating one word ‘Courage’ and Kurt couldn’t help the smile spreading over his face at the message from his Boyfriend.
