Blaine walked in to see the others in his room waiting for him and was surprised when Kurt got up and walked over to him and gave him a hug saying “Thanks for what you tried to do, but I seriously don’t need a bodyguard okay.” smiling to take the sting out of his statement to Blaine.

Blaine was reeling from being hugged by Kurt as he breathed in his scent of vanilla and jasmine, Jeff and nick looked at Blaine then one another and smiled widely. Blaine recovered and asked what everyone was doing in his room? David said “Well after what went down today we thought we had better stick together and to make sure no other notes were delivered to your room.”

Blaine raised his eyebrows and thought ‘Well after today I don’t think even Bas is stupid enough to do that again.’ Then chuckling as he saw worried frowns on their faces but said “Guys really! Come on.” then laughed to reduce the tension which the others meekly joined in. “So any ideas on what you guys want to do tonight?” Blaine asked everyone.

Kurt looked at the others “Well I was supposed to audition for the Warblers today, but….” Blaine looked at Wes and David who nodded and then Wes got up” I think we need Thad, so where we doing this? Here or the common room?”
Blaine answered “Common room I think okay guys go-go-go!”

Kurt looked anxious but got up and followed the others, “Hey! you up for this Kurt?” Blaine asked, Kurt just nodded and waited for Blaine to lock his door. But just as Blaine was about to turn back to Kurt, Kurt noticed something amiss and raised his hands enshrouding himself and Blaine in a protective shield. Blaine just utters a curse as they are engulfed in darkness and something attacking the shield but it held with ease and then vanished. As the dark shroud vanished Blaine just caught Kurt who looked even paler than ever and sat down by his door shouting for the guys to come back. Blaine looked in to Kurt’s eyes and saw such beauty of Blue, Violet, Grey and Green with the remainder of lightening held within. Saying “Hold on you’ll recover okay.” Just then Nick and Jeff returned helping Blaine with Kurt to get up.

Kurt asked a little shaken “What the hell was that?” Blaine answered “Simply put it called a ‘Death Shroud’ it’s quite a strong spell and unawares would have hurt if not killed me Kurt……. Thank You! How were you able to do that only really strong gods can protect from those kinds of spells.” Just then Mr Fredericks arrived with David and Wes. Mr Frederick’s looked around and said “Okay tell me what just happened.”

Kurt looked at Blaine, but he gestured for him to talk first, so Kurt started to explain what he saw and did when they were attacked, then Blaine added his bit and then looked at Mr Fredericks who looked extremely angry.
“Right! we shall stop this now.” As Mr Fredericks reached into his pocket and dialled Mr Ripley’s number walking slightly away talking into his cell for about 5 minutes then came back “Okay gentleman Mr Ripley’s’ office now please. Boys go about your business or rooms now gentlemen.” Suddenly Kurt and Blaine were the only two left with Mr Fredericks.

“So Kurt, Blaine come with me, we are going to see the Dean.” Mr Fredericks gestured for the boys to proceed him as they walked away another boy came out of hiding and gulped and thought ’Oh Shit that wasn’t supposed to happen.’ and quickly jogged away to his room.

Mr Fredericks, Blaine and Kurt arrived at Mr Ripley’s office, knocking and going on in with the Dean sitting behind his desk looking up.

“Ah Gentlemen sit please.” Mr Ripley indicated to the chairs “We now seemingly have an emergency upon our hands” suddenly another knock indicated the other party to come to the Dean’s office and both Blaine and Kurt tensed upon seeing Bas Smythe and another teacher enter.

Bas seemed baffled to why he was there with both Blaine and Kurt but kept his mind steeled against anyone entering and reading his thoughts.

Again Mr Ripley stated “Well Gentleman seeing that all effected parties are here we shall begin. It has come to my attention Mr Smythe, that Mr Anderson was attacked by a Death Shroud spell and would either be severely injured or worse killed, if not for the quick reactions of Mr Hummel here in saving the day as it were. As you can see I wanted to give you the opportunity to tell everyone involved that the attack wasn’t down to you and that you did not organise it.”

Bas looked stunned and said “What! I never… wouldn’t …. Blaine, Kurt you have to believe me I wouldn’t authorise this. Blaine I know we have a history but even you can see I wouldn’t send that after you! Read my mind anyone to see the truth of that I don’t know who did it but I will try to find out if anyone from my group did this, and inform you of who did if I find out anything.”

Mr Ripley looked over to Mr Morris who had brought Bas in and he said “Now Bas relax and let me enter.” Mr Morris said Bas just did as instructed and Mr Morris’s eyes went black for about five minutes and then returned to normal. Mr Morris turned to the Dean and stated “ He doesn’t have any idea of this until now and to who could of effected a spell of that magnitude…. to be honest this has Bas scared enough not to lie or wheedle his way out of.”

Mr Ripley nodded his head and said “Okay Bas you can go but stay safe as you try to find out if any of your friends did this we need to find out immediately.” Bas got up and nodded his head, and then looked over to Blaine who was shocked to find out that Bas hadn’t had anything to do with that. He nodded once in his direction and left with Mr Morris.

“Right then we have some serious work to delve into this mystery boys and I think Kurt might be a starting point.” Mr Ripley said as he turned to focus upon Kurt.
Upon hearing this Kurt jumped a little as he was still shaken up about the whole thing and was really tired but he said “Okay what do you want to know?” asking Mr Ripley
“Well what were you doing as Blaine was locking his door …. That’s correct yes?” he asked the boys and they both nodded their heads in the affirmative, and then Kurt replied “Umm, I was waiting for Blaine to lock the door and was just turning to head down to the common room for my audition song for hopefully joining The Warblers, but then I noticed out of the corner of my eye a very dark ‘Blot’ emanating from just above Blaine’s head. I didn’t have time to think or panic but brought both my hands up and a force field surrounded us both and that is when it attacked. I had to keep pushing it away as it was trying desperately to get at Blaine. Then it kind of fizzled out that’s all I can remember of the thing and the attack really before being brought here.”

The Dean and Mr Fredericks looked at one another then the Dean asked “Kurt how are you feeling now?” Kurt answered as truthfully as he could. “To be quiet honest with you all I am starting to get really tired. Is that natural after something like this occurs with a magical attack, tiredness?”

Mr Fredericks answered Kurt’s question and confirmed that it was and that he would be allowed to sleep in tomorrow morning, as it was his lesson he would be missing, after glancing at the Dean to check that would be okay. Then said “Kurt, I want to see you for further training, as you have now developed a higher spell work than the others can produce so you no longer need to go to the other lessons.”
Blaine looked impressed and raised his eyebrows slightly in revelation to the fact that Kurt was more powerful than even he and the guys had discussed. Then thought no wonder Bas wanted to turn Kurt to his group of cronies, if he was more powerful than most, if not all what can he do in the future with his powers fully available.

Then Blaine was brought back into the conversation by the Dean as he elaborated that he would get to the bottom of this and not to worry, but asked if he and Kurt wouldn’t mind bunking up together for tonight for each other’s safety and for Blaine to escort Kurt back to his room then they were to share Blaine’s’ room for that night.

Blaine and Kurt both blushed slightly but said okay and with that got up and left the office where the Dean and Mr Fredericks still sat talking about the events of the past hour and how they were to combat against anything like this happening again.

Kurt looked over to Blaine and asked “You don’t mind sharing for tonight do you?” Blaine just shook his head and said “No, after what you did I kind of feel obligated to look out for you too now” he laughed to ease the tension they were both feeling.

As they re-entered the Dorm they were suddenly surrounded by the Warblers who wanted to know what had happened and was it true Kurt stopped a Death Shroud spell. Kurt swayed a bit from the overwhelming attention. Good intentions given he was really, really tired and stumbled slightly but steadied as Blaine caught his arm and slipped it around his waist. Kurt again, blushed but was just too tired to even try to explain anything to the guys. Blaine shouted over the others and said “Look guys Kurt is a hero and he has to stay in my room tonight Dean’s orders because he is literally falling asleep standing up from the shock of this ordeal. I will tell you everything later guys okay but I need to get Kurt to my room and then collect some of his things for the night. Oh yeah don’t go knocking on my door tomorrow morning Kurt has been given the privilege of a lie-in for the morning to sleep himself out okay.” Blaine started to glare at them and they realised looking at Kurt that he was passing out on his feet for the lack of sleep. So the guys parted then helped where they could with Kurt and then left Blaine to sort out Kurt’s night clothes.

This proved problematic for Blaine who had no idea what Kurt wore in bed, but thought to look under Kurt’s pillows and sure enough his silk p.j’s were there. Picking them, slippers and toiletries up he made his way back to his room as he laughed to himself as the guys escorted him to his own room …. Just to be on the safe side. Blaine thanked his friends and said he would see them in the morning locking his door and looked around to find another bed in his room with Kurt face down fast asleep.

Blaine looked at Kurt and didn’t have the heart to wake him so he just slipped off Kurt’s shoes, tie and belt off looking over to where Kurt’s jacket already lay over the back of the desk chair in the room, and placing the tie and belt there too with the shoes underneath.

Kurt again whimpered in his sleep and again Blaine wondered what Kurt was dreaming about to make him do that. Suddenly, Kurt shot up and faced Blaine nearly giving him a heart attack at the sudden movement, and said in a hollow voice “Be warned! Things are not always what they appear. Look for the sun as the night is long along the dangerous pathway of ‘FATE’”… then Kurt just flopped back down on the bed. Blaine stood stock-still as he thought he just witnessed Kurt having a vision or something, maybe he was an oracle. That would explain even more what Kurt was actually with his powers and did Bas know already what Kurt was.

Blaine thought for a moment then he too was just too stressed out and tired so went to his bathroom and changed into his bed clothes before going to his bed. When he came out he noticed Kurt laying awake “Oh I thought you were asleep I hope I didn’t wake you” Blaine asked with concern. “No, no you didn’t I had to wake up I….. did I just say something aloud?” Kurt asked and Blaine nodded his head “Saying you nearly gave me a heart attack as you shot up from the bed and then started stating something.” Kurt blushed furiously for scaring Blaine but also asked “What did I say?” Blaine looked a bit uncomfortable but thought ‘Well I did say I wouldn’t lie to Kurt so here goes’. Blaine then explained what Kurt had said and his own thoughts on what he was and what the words meant.

Kurt looked dumbfounded and wondered what had become of his life, was he an Oracle God? What exactly did this mean was this anyway. Blaine looked over from his bed after sitting down to explain to Kurt what had happened and asked “You okay?” Kurt laughed and said “No not really! I’m just ….. Overwhelmed by all of this” Blaine’s heart went out to Kurt and he opened his arms and said “I give good cuddles if you want?” looking concerned, Kurt got up and almost flew into Blaine’s arms shuddering with tears starting to form in his eyes. Blaine noticed Kurt shivering and the tears and said “Hey Kurt don’t I know you feel lost about all this but it does get easier from now on I promise.” Hugging Kurt and again inhaling his scent which made him feel at peace, everything felt right holding Kurt, so he kissed the top of his head.

Kurt thought did ‘Blaine just kiss me, he did OMG!’ but didn’t release his own hold around Blaine’s waist as his head lay upon his shoulder. Blaine smiled and thought I could get used to this holding Kurt felt really good well fantastic in fact and he never wanted it to end. Just then Kurt’s breath hicked and broke the contact saying “Thank you. I think I need to change now but could I cuddle up with you on your bed after” Blaine thought did I hear that right, but stuttered “Yes, I mean yeah okay if that won’t freak you out any further?” Kurt looked over to Blaine and said “After what has happened in the last few weeks I don’t think cuddling is classified as freaking out mode … do you?” Kurt giggled slightly as Blaine just blushed a beet red colour raising his own eyebrows as far as they could go. Looking sheepish Blaine said “ No so go and get changed and I’ll be waiting to cuddle some more okay” as Kurt headed to go change in the bathroom he stopped and turned and asked biting his lower lip “Blaine, umm does this mean umm that we are umm boyfriends?” it was now Kurt’s turn in going scarlet. Blaine looked over and smiled, well actually beamed at Kurt his heart felt like it was about to burst again but with joy this time. Kurt looked at Blaine’s reaction and stated “I take that as a Yes” smiling then turning on his heel going into the bathroom.

Blaine lay down upon his pillows and sighed deeply ‘Wow this has got to be one of the most bizarre days ever! Boyfriend yea I have a BOYFRIEND!’ Blaine squealed quietly but stopped as he thought he heard something. Frowning he looked around his room powers now in full control examining everything and where within the room, but found nothing. He then decided to extend to go beyond his door and nearly recoiled at the menace emanating from just beyond from someone….. who was that I know him thought Blaine. Just then Kurt walked in and the feeling was replaced with adoration by the person on the other side of the room’s door. Blaine gulped and Kurt froze when he saw Blaine looking pale looking over at the door. Kurt had just had about enough of this his temper getting the better of him again, he knew he shouldn’t but marched over to the door yanking it open wide and ready for anything but it was empty. Kurt deflated slightly turning around to face Blaine who had come over behind Kurt to help if needed, but shrugged his shoulders as to what was going on. Kurt closes the door again and locked it walking back to Blaine saying “When you went to get my toiletries did you pick up my skin routine ointments and lotions?” Blaine looked abashed and muttered “umm, no sorry I didn’t think you would need them as you seemed comatose “
Kurt said “Oh okay that’s alright I can forgo for tonight but don’t judge tomorrow okay” laughing then said “ When I came out you looked … well pale what was going on?”

Blaine said “I just thought I heard something but must have been mistaken.” Then saying "Come on you need sleep" opening his arms as he got into his bed and asked “Little or big spoon?” and Kurt smiled shyly then saying “Big spoon it looks like you could do with the cuddle now anyway” Blaine beamed and turned around waiting for Kurt to get into his bed. Kurt got in and wrapped his arms around Blaine, as Blaine settled into Kurt’s embrace his thoughts before passing into slumber was of how lucky in many ways he was to have Kurt in his life. Kurt whispered “I’m so glad I met you and I’m never letting you go” before he too drifted off to sleep both boys were fast asleep within minutes with smiled ghosting their lips.

Meanwhile outside the door, the mysterious boy fumed ‘How dare he! I will kill him for doing this I will rip him to pieces I hate him!’ with that he drifted away into nothing again with the last echo’s around the corridor being heard “Kurt is MINE!”

Wes and David who were just coming up from the common room froze upon hearing that. Wes turned to David and said “What the hell was that?” David looked around and replied “I have no idea dude but whatever it was it wants Kurt and will hurt Blaine to get him. I think we need to tell Mr Fredericks this straight away do you think he is still at the dean’s office?” With that both boys hurried their paces to the dean’s office hoping that both the Dean and Mr Fredericks were still there.

Wes knocked the door and the Dean’s voice told them to enter which they did, and yes both faculty members were still in the office. David spoke for both stating “Sirs, we just heard something weird and frightening.” He explained what he and Wes had just heard in the corridor near to Blaine’s room.

The Dean frowned upon hearing that and said “Well Charles your theory was correct it is an outside interference coming to this school. Maybe we need to adopt the ‘Chancellor’ protocol “ Mr Fredericks just nodded his head and the Dean continued “Well thank you boys for bringing this to our attention and don’t worry any more this thing will not be able to do anything further here at least.” With that he dismissed Wes and David to get to their rooms and to have a good night’s sleep.

Wes and David left the office, as the Dean and Mr Fredericks started on implementing the protocol to protect the students and staff at Dalton Academy. David turned to Wes and said “Well there is nothing further to be done tonight but I wonder what the ‘Chancellor’ Protocol is?” Wes just nodded and continued to their rooms in the dormitory.

That night the faculty was informed of the instigation of the ‘Chancellor’ protocol and the students that were still awake thought they heard a sudden rushing noise from outside their room windows but saw nothing or heard anything further so turned in for the next school day.
