Kurt looked at Richard and asked him “Mr Anderson, I believe Bas’s words were that the Chancellor had directed his family to become my and any future family’s servant and that he personally will take this further with putting himself in danger, even death, for my protection.  I don’t think he would renege upon that oath but as you say he will be watched, Blaine doesn’t trust him from past experience but we shall see what develops”
