'KURT!' Blaine screamed running to the man curled up on the ground, as the dalek once again disappeared. 'Kurt, what's wrong?'
He joined their hands and repeatedly kissed his forehead as Kurt whimpered in pain.
'Blaine.. Blaine, i-' Kurt whispered 'stand back okay?'
Blaine was shocked that Kurt was practically telling him to just leave him to die. 'No. Kurt, I'm not leaving you. We can get help, okay? Just tell me what to do and-'
'Blaine,' tears were forming in his emerald green eyes, 'Blaine, p-please stand back. i promise everythi-' he screamed in pain. The scream was followed with heavy breaths and more whimpers, 'i promise I'll be okay. You n-need to stand back. Please. Please.' He looked straight into Blaine's eyes, pleading.
Blaine answered this with a gentle kiss 'i love you. Kurt,' tears were forming in his eyes now 'whatever happens, i love you.'
Blaine walked back to the TARDIS slowly, eyes never leaving Kurt. He was trying to memorize him. His pale skin, his perfectly styled ginger hair, his striking green eyes, the glowing hands, that looked like they were on fire..
But not the glowing.
That wasn't supposed to happen.
No.
What was happening?!
The glowing spread all over Kurt's body. He appeared to be.. Glittering.
But people don't just sparkle.
And then it stopped. Just as soon as it started.
And Kurt lay limp.
Except he wasn't Kurt.
He looked different.
What had once been hair of many colours, resembling a fire, with its many shades of red and orange, was now brown and messy.
His face was different.
It was still perfect, though not the same.
His lips were a pale pink, a stark contrast to their previous redish tone.
His skin was even paler than before and resembled the colour of the porcelain dolls Blaine's mother had once adored, with their painted on features and straw-like hair.
Kurt slowly sat up and Blaine was at his side, holing him t.:o steady him. Kurt looked at Blaine. Striking blue eyes, similar to the exploding star Kurt had shown him only days ago, replaced the green eyes that had reminded Blaine of the Emerald City from The Wizard of Oz.
'Kurt, are you okay?' There was an obvious panic in Blaine's eyes, though he tried to appear calm, 'what can i do?'
Kurt looked at him, slightly confused at first. 'Help me over to the TARDIS, i need to sit down. I'll explain everything once we're inside'
Blaine hooked an arm under Kurt's bent legs and the other arm around his back. He stood up carefully, walked to the TARDIS and backed his way inside, careful not to hurt Kurt. He carefully place Kurt on the worn down bench next to the control panel. He sat down next to him and gently pulled him onto his lap, being careful not to hurt him. Kurt lay back on Blaine's chest, his breath quick and shallow.
'Can you tell me what's wrong, Kurt? If you're in pain i can help,' Blaine grabbed one of Kurt's hands, holding it tightly, and kissed his hair.
Kurt's breathing evened out slightly and he looked at Blaine. His eyes weren't as beautiful as before, but they were certainly growing on Blaine, blue and sparkling.
'i-i need tea,' Kurt felt silly, saying he needed such a stupid thing, after having regenerated in front of Blaine, who had no idea what had just happened and was doing his best to help Kurt. Blaine gently shifted Kurt from on top of him and lay him down on the tiny two-person bench as best he could and walked to the kettle on the control panel. He flipped the switch after checking for water, walked back to Kurt, knelt down beside him and gently stroked the side of his face.
Blaine let out a light chuckle. 'Kettle's on, baby, shouldn't take too long.'
Kurt's eyes fluttered shut and he moaned quietly.
'Kurt, are you hurt? Are you in pain? Can i do anything?' The panic returned into Blaine's eyes and he retracted his hand from Kurt's face, fearing he had caused him pain. Kurt slowly reached out and took Blaine's hand in his, squeezing it lightly. He tried the best he could to pull Blaine closer to him, wanting the warmth and safety that came from being held by him, but couldn't gather the strength.
The kettle clicked off, signaling that it had finished boiling the water, and Blaine gently kissed Kurt's temple, making his way to the mug that had been balanced on a few levers and handles.
How was Kurt supposed to explain the regeneration to Blaine? It wasn't your everyday happening. Not something that Blaine could have ever seen, anyway.
Watching Blaine, with new, loving eyes walk to him, place the tea on the new tile floor, because obviously a new look for Kurt meant a new look for his TARDIS, and wrapping his arms around the now much taller and very different looking man who was laid out in the time machine, Kurt realized just how lucky he was.
