Author's Notes: i think is says ginger hair, yes, i meant it
Running. He was running till he couldn't stop. He had to get away. Why was he so stupid? He had been specifically told that if he ran into trouble, he should turn in the other direction and walk away. But did he listen? No.
Of course not.
He wanted to prove that he was worth something. He felt a need to prove to the man in the blue box that he had reason to be traveling with him.
As if anyone had a reason for that.
Who needed one other than wanting to?
He had been given the whole universe.
All of time.
All of everything.
And he wanted it.
Blaine Anderson had been completely changed by the Time Lord.
He was alien. But that didn't matter.
He had a habit of finding trouble. But that didn't matter.
He was perfect to Blaine.
Kurt Hummel. The perfect alien.
So there he was, running away from a dalek and he was thinking about Kurt.
He couldn't afford to think about him, only running.
Stairs. He needed stairs! Daleks... Glide? They couldn't fly! Of course!
But this was his first encounter with stairs and a dalek, so, of course, he didn't know that they could fly. And, of course, when Blaine headed up the stairs to head for the roof, where the Kurt had told him he would be waiting, he almost fell back down when the dalek started to rise from the ground and fly up the them. His only choice was to keep running and hope he reached the TARDIS before it caught up with him.
The opening to the roof. There! Right there!
He ran up onto the flat white roof, too bright from the midday sun. It took a few moments for his eyes to adjust to the light but as soon as he could see again he saw Kurt and ran to him.
"Kurt!"
Kurt was leaning on the TARDIS looking out over the city. He stood up and caught Blaine as he pretty much collapsed onto him. Kurt looked at the door just as the dalek emerged and came to a halt. He stood Blaine up and leaned him against the TARDIS. An angry sigh left his mouth just loud enough for Blaine to hear.
"i told you to stay out of trouble and you bring a dalek back for tea... Great job you did.." He mumbled under his breath.
He pivoted on his converse-clad heel to face the dalek.
"Second century Rome and i still manage to find a dalek. What are you here for? They substituting lions for daleks down at the coliseum?" Kurt was always sarcastic. Always.. Cocky. As if he knew he couldn't lose.
"i was sent to observe the strongest variety of human. The so called 'gladiator'. The daleks are planning to use the humans to create a new species. You are an enemy of the daleks. You will not stand in our way. You will be exterminated!"
"You plan to just create a new species? Using gladiators? Well its a good thing Blaine brought you up here so i could stop you!" Blaine stepped forward and entwined his fingers with Kurt's at the mention of his name.
"You will not stand in our way! You will be exterminated!" The dalek moved to aim its eye stalk away from the pair.
"i think if you really planned to kill me you would have done it by now. Come on, you know this is a stupid idea. Back to Scaro and to report that it won't work."
"My research has shown that the humans will not be of any use to us. i plan to leave the planet." And just like that he was gone.
"Idiot" Blaine heard Kurt mutter. "You okay?"
Blaine was just out of breath from the running. Other than that, he was fine. "'M good"
"i thought i told you not to get into trouble?" Kurt laughed, knowing that it was normal for trouble to find Blaine, rather than Blaine to find trouble.
"You thought it wouldn't make it up the stairs" Kurt stated.
"Yeah.." Blaine was embarrassed because Kurt seemed to act like it was obvious that the dalek could fly. Kurt must have noticed because he kissed him at that moment.
"i didn't think so the first time i met one. Don't worry, Blaine. Come on, where to?"
"i don't care. Anywhere. As long as its with you." A thought brushed over Blaine's mind "Kurt, why did you let the dalek go? Why didn't you ask the dalek why it wanted the humans? Do you already know?"
Kurt didn't even take time to think about it. He brushed his ginger hair off of his forehead and answered.
"i don't want to know just yet. We'll find it out soon enough. Its just one less thing to worry about."
But the dalek had not gone back to Scaro. It appeared out of nowhere and fired at Kurt.
He crumpled to the floor.
Almost lifeless.
