Chapter 5 - A Nomination Ceremony
"You know its scary just how quickly you can jump to conclusions, Kitty. Maybe Ill nominate you for eviction instead."
Kitty laughed at what Marley said as she got comfortable in the HOH bed.
Honestly, this was the life. She needed to make sure that people she liked continued to win HOH so that she wouldnt have to sleep downstairs in the Rock & Roll bedroom again. The beds were small and she was stuck in there with Kurt, Blaine, and Mike. Between the football talk and boy smells and the constant, disgusting flirting between Kurt and Blaine, the room was far from a girls paradise.
"I think deep down inside, underneath all the candy, marshmallows, and daisies, you know that Blaine has a thing for Kurt."
"I know that youre crazy," Marley answered quickly, not even giving it a second thought. Kitty smirked at her. "So what? We saw them together on the hammock. Talking. Ive spent time with Sam on the hammock and were far from together… Youve spent time with Puck there. In fact, you could name a person right now and I will tell you the person theyve been alone with at some point. Doesnt mean theyre in love, Kitty."
"Oh I know that a lot of people hang out on the hammock together," Kitty assured her. She got comfortable under the covers as Rachel started to wake up—the girl needing to go downstairs before Big Brother lectured her over the speakers. "Im aware. But my thing is: people dont usually look at each other like the way Kurt and Blaine were looking at one another. Not if nothing is going on. That kid had a crush."
"If youre talking about Blaine—Blaines straight."
Rachel stretched and got out of the bed, pushing her bangs out of her face as she went. Marley watched her sister and felt bad. She didnt want to ever be a Have-Not because sleeping in that crappy bedroom and having to watch as everyone else ate delicious food had to suck. "Are you going to bed?"
Rachel groaned. "Im going to my lawn chair. Goodnight."
Kitty giggled. "Sleep well," she teased. Marley playfully slapped her on the arm as Rachel left the HOH bedroom.
"Be nice."
Kitty rolled her eyes. "Yeah. So back to Kurt and Blaine—"
"Alright. I acknowledge that it looks like Kurt has a crush on Blaine, and thats pathetic," Marley began. Seriously, if a guy says hes not interested in other guys then that should be respected and the end of the discussion. Adam was more than obvious with Kurt but Kurt preferred to chase a man who wasnt interested? It made Marley shake her head. "But, that in no way means that Blaine is interested in him, Kitty. The guy has told me numerous amount of times that he still cares about his ex-girlfriend and wants to make it work with her when he leaves here."
Kitty reached for the CD player on the dresser before turning to look at Marley. Her bitch please face was on point tonight, because Marley was obviously believing the nonsense coming from her own mouth. Blaine was probably telling her those things so she wouldnt try to make out with him or something, because Marley was another one who was painfully obvious in this house. "So despite the two of them always being together—whether theyre alone or in a group, looking at each other like theyre having each others children, and sharing clothing, you think theyre just friends? Am I getting this right?"
Marley slid underneath the covers and looked up at the monitor. She could see Rachel waving goodnight to Kurt and Blaine who were in the kitchen now, having come in from outside a couple minutes after she and Kitty made that noise downstairs. As Marley looked at them on the TV screen, she could tell by their body language just how annoyed they looked. Blaine better not be mad at her for something that was Kittys fault. She turned to Kitty who was patiently waiting for an answer—that smug smirk on her face.
"What I will say is Blaine could be keeping Kurt close for gameplay."
The girl nodded. "Im listening…"
Marley sighed. "I probably shouldnt say any of this, but Blaines told me hes building this relationship with Kurt and Finn to keep them close. Theyre pretty smart and strong players, so they could be allies. But, he doesnt want that to be known for obvious reasons… he must be milking Kurt on so that he isnt suspicious." Marley waited for Kittys reaction to see if she would accept that as a possibility. While she did feel bad for sharing things that Blaine shared with her in confidence, she felt Kitty needed to hear it. Otherwise, shed think Blaine liked Kurt romantically and that was ridiculous.
Kittys reaction was pretty blank at first, but then slowly but surely she started to smirk again. She turned over in the bed and put the headphones over her ear, but didnt press play yet. "Youve been sitting on that gem for how long? You could be using that to help your game, you know that?"
Marley looked back up at the monitor. Kurt was in the refrigerator, digging around for something, and Blaine was sitting at the island looking down at his fingernails. In a second or two, hed start biting them, despite knowing that everyone in the house yelled at him for it. "My game is fine right now. Blaines is good too, and hes on my team along with Schue and Finn and I need our games to be good right now."
"What you need is to put up Kurt," Kitty answered quickly and clearly. "Kurt and Santana."
Marley laughed, dragging a hand down her face. "No way! Have you listened to anything I just said?"
"Yup," Kitty nodded. "Ok. Maybe not Santana, because Blaine will be pissed and think youre targeting him for some reason—"
"Basically!"
"But," Kitty continued, rolling her eyes at Marleys dramatic outburst. "If you put up Kurt and someone else… maybe a pawn, you can see exactly where your boyfriend Blaines loyalties lie."
Marley looked at her—half curious, half having-no-interest.
"If he still pretends to want to keep Kurt safe for his game like you say he is, then he really is just using Kurt. But if he gets angry then hes lying to you and he wants Kurt to stay. Personally," she reached over into Marleys gift basket for peanuts before continuing, "I think that Blaine has everyone fooled. You, Kurt, Schue, everyone hes been talking to except for his sister. Theyre smarter than we know, Marley."
Marley shook her head no. "Hes not a liar."
"I dont think hes straight. I dont care how much he talks about an ex-girlfriend." She opened the bag and offered some peanuts to Marley who refused. "And Im certain that the people watching on their live stream right now are agreeing with me, and praising me for having a brain. Anyone could look at the two of them and know its more than a just friend relationship."
Marley looked up at the monitor again. Kurt was making what looked like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich as he talked to Blaine, who as suspected, began to bite his fingernails. "I did hear them flirting with one another when we got to see the memory wall the other day."
Kitty waited until she finished chewing to smile. "Oh?"
She nodded. "Everyone was talking about Blaines picture… because he has all of that gel in his hair. And Kurt said something along the lines of That guy looks like someone I would date. Blaine pretty much lit up and I dont know. After that they walked off."
Kitty chuckled, knowing her suspicions were right. Kurt could say something nonsensical in Pig Latin and Blaine would light up. "Did you hear what he said back to Kurt or no?"
Marley shook her head no, but that was a lie. Blaine had teased Kurt back, asking whether or not he would date bushy-haired, surfer Blaine, or something like that. Was she lying because she believed that maybe there was a little something going on between Kurt and Blaine? No. She just didnt want her friend to be accused of being gay by Kitty. Kitty had no filter and would start an argument for the whole house to see and hear in a heartbeat. "I didnt."
Kitty shrugged. "Thats too bad. But you know what youve got to do for your game, right? You need to know if you can trust Blaine. His word means nothing."
Marley was quiet at first, but as she watched the two men on the monitor, watching them share half a PB & J sandwich and sit at the kitchen island like they were the last two people left on earth with no care in the world, she knew Kitty was right. Regardless of the things Blaine had told her since they became close, he could be playing her.
"I need to nominate Kurt for eviction," Marley said firmly.
-B-B-
"The jelly to peanut butter ratio on this sandwich is off."
Kurt rolled his eyes as he took his last bite. There was nothing wrong with his ratio. Everyone knew you had to put more jelly. "If you dont like it, you shouldve made one for yourself."
Blaine smiled before he took another bite, and Kurt giggled a bit when jelly oozed out in the corner of Blaines mouth. They both started to laugh a bit. Honestly, despite Kitty or whoever it was making that noise and totally ruining their moment alone outside on the hammock, both Kurt and Blaine were in a great mood. Kurt wondered if it was because it was merely 11 at night and everyone else but the two of them had retired to their rooms. Or maybe it was because he was wired on coffee and the premise of being kissed by Blaine. It couldve been a little bit of both.
"Im going to teach you how to make a proper PB & J tomorrow, okay?"
Kurt ignored him. There was nothing wrong with his PB & J. "I think Im about to go get into my pajamas—"
Kurt, please come to the Diary Room.
"Oh crap." Kurt wiped his hands with a napkin and tossed it into the waste bin. "What do they want?"
Blaine pouted a bit after swallowing the last of his half of the sandwich and wiping his face. The D.R. always kept Kurt for a long time—he was probably getting a lot of TV time during diary room sessions. Now, hed be bored because everyone was probably asleep—well, maybe not Marley. But Marley was with Kitty and that wasnt something Blaine wanted to put himself in between.
"Dont say anything bad about me," he told Kurt.
Kurt tossed a few napkins Blaines way and gestured to the spot at the corner of his lips. "You might want to clean that up if you ever intend on turning in that kiss," he said as he walked away. Blaine grabbed a napkin and smiled, licking his lips and watching him walk off.
"Dont say anything bad about me!"
"I wouldnt dare," Kurt replied over his shoulder, smiling before he pressed the button for the D.R. and waited patiently for production to open the door. He noticed as he walked inside that hed be doing this interview in Blaines Charlie Brown sweater and he was blushing before he even sat down in the chair inside the Diary Room.
Blaine got up after a couple minutes to put the peanut butter and jelly away. He washed the few dishes in the sink as he thought to himself about how happy he was outside and alone with Kurt. They were minding their business. They werent bothering anyone. Yet, people had to play mind games with them.
It sucked because it took Kurt a long time for him to open up like he had out back just now. He was so concerned with what people would think about them being a showmance and ruining his game that he didnt want to tell Blaine he had feelings too—especially since he was telling a large group of the HouseGuests that he was straight. It was then that Blaine realized that Kitty—the girl who disliked him probably as much as Adam did, was upstairs alone with Marley, probably feeding her all types of stories to turn her against him. Blaine couldnt let that happen. Itd ruin everything.
He decided hed go talk to Marley before going to bed. He needed to.
-B-B-
"Is your alliance with Blaine genuine at all? Does Team Zigzag have anything to worry about?"
Kurt could feel himself blushing as the camera stared back at him. Hed already been in the Diary Room for a good five minutes or so and he could tell they were just getting started. Prior to this question, everything had been about the competitions—how it felt to come so close to winning HOH, but losing. Ugh. And how he and Quinn pulled their team to a first place win in the Have-Not competition earlier that day. They also asked him a little about Adam…
"I think Adam is a smart guy and a great teammate, but despite that I have no respect for someone who would play dirty," Kurt had answered.
"Even though hes your team leader?"
Kurt nodded. Just because hed been drafted by Adam on the first day, it meant nothing. They would be on the same team for now, and the same thing went for his team captain Kitty, but he had no loyalty to either of them. They didnt have any loyalty to their other member Tina when she left, so why should he care about them? There was no way he was letting a Big Brother twist mess up how he played the game. "Adam is the leader of my team," he said. "He chose me because he believed that I would play the game smart… there were probably some…other…intentions he had. But I am a smart player and I know not to rely on Adam, who had shown his true colors in his first season and in this one with what he did to Blaine."
But now, with their question about Team Zigzag, they were getting into the Blaine of things and Kurt had to remember that not only would millions of people watch these episodes, but his father would too. He cleared his throat before beginning to answer.
Be smart, Hummel.
"Coming into this house and the competition as a whole, I didnt think I would be close to anyone but Finn. And Finn is still my rock in more ways than one—I know hell be my link to the outside world and a reminder that there is a world outside this house when I start to lose my mind. But I want my Zigzags to know that Blaine and I are the real deal. Hes someone Im close to…" Kurt trailed off for a moment, ignoring the light shining in his face and the red light of the camera. This was awkward in many, many ways. Michelle looked at him, waiting for him to finish his sentence, and Kurt cleared his throat as he looked back at the camera. "Im not going to promise and epic romance but I do believe that Blaine is an ally of mine and my brother in this game, as is his sister Santana. And hes someone I can call a friend."
Michelle looked down at her notepad as she asked a follow-up question. "So you dont think you have anything to worry about when it comes to Blaine and Marley?"
"I believe Blaine when he says hes on my side, and that hes loyal to the 5-Star Generals. I may not agree with how hes playing the game exactly but Im on his side…"
She smiled. "If Marley is a factor, how would you feel?"
Now production was making Kurt worry. Was Marley a factor? He didnt think so. Blaine wasnt lying to him. He knew better. "That would suck."
"Can you say that in a complete sentence," one of the production guys asked. Kurt sat back in the seat and restarted.
"If Blaine was loyal to Marley and stringing me along, it would suck. But," he continued. "Like I said, I trust him. If it bites me in the ass in the end, Id have no one to blame but myself."
"Okay, Kurt." Michelle looked up from her notes and at him from behind the directors set up. "Last question. Is it possible that Team Zigzag are a little more than friends?"
Kurt laughed a little. His cheeks were most likely red because this was embarrassing. Did he want to talk about all of this with production when he and Blaine had barely spoke about it? Hell no. But what was there to be embarrassed about, right? Theyd already gotten this far with cameras following their every move and listening to their every word. All of the viewers knew how they felt about one another, again, if Blaine was genuine, and if they didnt yet know it would probably be on the next episode.
There wasnt really any turning back now. Kurts father would be alright. He was 24 years of age. It wasnt like they were screwing or anything. They hadnt even kissed.
Yet.
This was the last question, though. Hed answer it and get it over with.
"Team Zigzag is a kick ass alliance between two really good friends. Will it ever become more?" Kurt smirked at the camera and shrugged playfully. "Who knows? I guess youll have to keep watching to find out…"
-B-B-
Kurt went into the Rock & Roll bedroom after his Diary Room session. It was dark when he walked in, so he assumed Blaine wasnt in there. As he began to pull off the hoodie he wore, followed by the t-shirt underneath it, he turned the light on, yawning a bit. A noise coming from the corner of the room startled him a bit.
"Yummy."
"Oh my god," Kurt turned around, now aware that he was completely shirtless as Blaine lay on the bed smiling back at him. "What—you perv… I thought you were somewhere else. Why are you laying in the dark?"
Blaine was still grinning as he answered. "Why not?" he sat up and combed his fingers through his hair. "No, seriously I went upstairs to talk to Marley. Kitty was there of course, and it looks like shes sleeping up there."
Kurt walked over to his dresser and looked for a pajama shirt. "You realize what that means, right? Kitty spending time with Marley…"
"And Mike having to sleep in the Have-Not room," Blaine added with a smile. "It means you and I have this whole bedroom to ourselves."
Like clockwork, Kurt felt the blood rushing to his cheeks. He was blushing again as he buttoned up his pajama top halfway, leaving his chest exposed. Blaine smiled when he saw the reddening of his ears. "I meant about Kitty and Marley. Theyre probably up there scheming, you know that? Since when does Marley turn you down because shes tired?"
Blaine watched Kurt step out of his pants before turning away, not wanting to be a total perv. He waited until Kurt had stepped into his pajama bottoms, biting his fingernails as he thought about it.
"Stop chewing on your nails, Blaine."
Blaine dropped his hand and patted the spot on the bed next to him. "Come. We have a lot to talk about."
Kurt nodded, clipping his microphone piece on the side of his shirt. He picked up his toothbrush as he went over to sit next to Blaine. "I think Im going to talk to her in the morning. Before the nomination ceremony."
Blaine looked at him. "She knows youre my friend. I cant see her nominating you, Kurt."
"But she is your friend also, and with me gone shed probably be happy. You realize that, right?"
Blaine nodded. "Kurt, Im not letting you leave. I mean that."
Kurt smiled. "Im not going anywhere. Im just… I dont want to be on the block at all, especially because some chick has a crush on you and we were caught spending time together. Thats why I warned you about why showmances are the worst—"
"Well we cant help that we like each other…"
Kurt stood up. "I need to go brush my teeth."
"Are you regretting what happened in the backyard?" Blaine asked him.
Kurt was quiet for a moment. He sighed and shook his head no. "I dont regret it. I just wish we had that moment to talk and everything where they werent watching."
Blaine looked at him.
"That moment was special for us, Blaine. But with Kittys guidance, Marley is most likely going to use our private time against each other and get me out of the house. I dont want to go home."
"Youre not going anywhere…"
Kurt looked down at his toothbrush holder in his hand. He knew Blaine was genuine and had good intentions, but good intentions only got people so far in this game. "Listen. I dont want you to think Im judging you for how youre playing the game, but lying to everyone is only going to put a target on your back. If…" Kurt folded his arms over his chest. "I really, really like you. But Im going to feel guilty if what we have…any showmance of any sort, is the reason that people turn against you. If we were to actually develop this, you realize people would find out that youre not straight, right?"
Blaine rubbed at his bicep as he listened to Kurt. The man had a good point. He couldnt just walk around flirting with Kurt and wanting to be around Kurt without people realizing that hed been lying. The dishonest people who were caught were always on the list of people to leave the house next. It was not hard to get the support and vote out a liar. Who knew when theyd stab you in the back, right? "Ill call a house meeting first thing in the morning."
Kurt looked like he was about to tell Blaine not to. "Blaine—"
"Look," Blaine turned on the bed. "This isnt strictly for you. I need to be honest with these people and hiding who I am so that I have a better chance of winning is fucked up. Besides, Ive told you and Puck. I mayve mentioned something about wanting to kiss you to Mercedes…accidentally… but she only laughed and patted my leg. She probably knows. Well. Probably not. Shes hard to read. Finn wont care, Im sure. Right? And Santanas been telling me to be honest but I was afraid."
Kurt looked at him.
"Our alliance is going to support me, I believe. Everyone else will probably hate me but I dont care. As long as were good, thats whats important, right?"
Kurt was afraid for him, but he offered a small smile anyway. "Right." It was a good thing that Blaine was going to come out while he couldnt be nominated for eviction. With his teammate Marley being HOH, he was going to be safe for the entire week, as was Finn and Schue. It was good because Marley couldnt put him up for eviction for lying to her—she was probably going to be pissed. But, that left Kurts safety in jeopardy… "If you feel comfortable doing it then Im in your corner 100%."
Blaine nodded. He pulled off his t-shirt and was left only in the sweats he wore. Kurt didnt want to stare, but the sight of shirtless Blaine was welcoming. "I know. Thats why youre my favorite."
Kurt smiled.
"Go brush your teeth so you can come back and kiss me."
"Oh?" Kurt smiled, walking backwards towards the rooms exit. "I guess you can have your kiss before you go sleep on Mikes bed."
"Ha!" Blaine laid down in their bed and got beneath the covers. "Dont think just because were the only two in here that youll be having a bed to yourself. Were still sleeping together."
Kurt stuck his tongue out before opening the door and leaving. He could be heard laughing in the hall and Blaine laughed too, looking up at the camera in the corner of the room.
"He likes me, America. Dont let him fool you." He smiled to himself and got comfortable, looking up at the neon green lightning bolts around the room and humming something softly. Kurt totally wanted to kiss him and it was the best thing that happened to him in a while. His fear about tomorrow wasnt enough to distract him from the fact that Kurt owed him a kiss that he could cash in whenever he wanted.
Would he make Kurt wait? Obviously the man wanted to kiss him too, otherwise he wouldnt have thrown the pool game. Maybe hed just keep Kurt on the edge of his toes for days, waiting until he let his guard down, and then one night when they were alone WHAM! hed surprise him with a kiss right on the lips. Kurt would love it.
But while that sounded totally cool and great for television, Blaines thirst needed to be quenched tonight. Besides, if he kissed Kurt tonight and Kurt liked it, maybe theyd kiss a lot. Blaine smiled. He didnt want to rob himself of chances to kiss Kurt.
Damn.
If Marley nominated Kurt, Blaine would make sure either her or Kitty would leave next week. It would be hard, being on the same team as Marley and all, but anyone who sided with Adams pet Kitty needed to be dealt with.
The door opened a couple minutes later and Kurt smiled at him when he walked in. It was the toothy smile Blaine rarely got to see—a smile he knew that Kurt didnt normally give just anyone. His heart sped up a little and he smiled back, watching as the man returned his toothbrush to on top of his dresser.
"My breath is fresh and clean, so now I can give you the cheek kiss I let you win and go to sleep."
"Bullshit," Blaine said, smirking at Kurts laugh. "Come here."
Kurt walked over to the light. "Im coming, bossy. Just let me turn this off…"
Blaine smiled, placing his head on Kurts pillow as the lights in the room went out. He took his mic off and stuffed it between the pillows. He could hear Kurt making his way across the room—somehow he always did it without stumping his toe. Must be talent. After a bit of noise, the bed sunk down from Kurts weight and the covers shifted. Blaine licked his lips a little nervously and moved closer to him, his heart thumping against his chest when he felt Kurt place his head on the pillow what had to be an inch away from his.
"Crap. I forgot to take my mic off and now Im super comfortable."
Blaine smiled. He couldnt see anything but he could feel the heat from Kurts body next to his and he loved having him this close. There wasnt any prompting tonight, no can we please cuddle for 20 minutes since theyre sleeping being whispered. They were alone, and Kurt was comfortable, and Blaine was happy. "You smell like Colgate."
Kurt laughed, moving back to take off his microphone. The important thing to know was even though they couldnt see anything, the cameras installed in the bedrooms were infrared. They were still being filmed and the viewers could still see everything. He reached out to put his microphone on the table between their bed and Mikes, happy when he successfully did so in the dark before bumbling back around and turning toward Blaine. There was a hand on his waist right away that slid over the small of his back, and Kurt licked his lips as he laid his head back down on the pillow. Their foreheads were touching and the warmth from Blaines breath was hitting his lips.
"Are you tired?"
Kurt adjusted the covers, pulling them up to just over their faces. Their heads were still sticking out. "Not really. You?"
Blaine rubbed over Kurts back and grunted no. "Remember when you asked if I was a player?"
Kurt laughed a little. "Yeah. Thats when they interrupted us and you didnt get to answer…"
Blaine nodded. "Im not a player at all, just so you know. Ive dated a couple guys at UCLA but only one of my relationships were serious."
"The one who gave you the socks?" Kurt asked.
Blaine nodded, whispering back. "Thats the one. His name was Shawn. I told everyone Shawn was a she but it was definitely a guy and we dated for around 8 months."
Kurt began to run his hand up Blaines arm beneath the covers. His skin felt warm beneath Kurts fingertips. He wished they could see each other for this talk, but this was just for the two of them. Not the people on live stream. Not for those who would be watching on TV. "Do you still love him?"
"Not at all," Blaine answered. "The guy cheated on me and I think he had been for a while. His view of a relationship wasnt nearly the same as mine."
Kurt hummed; his fingers making their way over Blaines shoulder as Blaines hand moved underneath his pajama shirt. He tried not to voice how good it felt, because shit it felt good. "So what is Blaines view of a relationship?"
Blaine smiled. "I like monogamous relationships. I… maybe this isnt ideal for a lot of guys in relationships, but romance is important to me. A future is important to me. Im 21 but Im looking for someone to be serious with, I dont like the whole just having fun idea. I want something real."
Kurt closed his eyes, tangling his fingers in curls at the nape of Blaines neck. He smiled to himself. Either someone fed Blaine things to say to him that would make him fall in love or the boy was being genuine and he was that perfect. "You deserve someone who wants the same thing. I bet theres someone here willing to give you that too. He might want the same exact thing."
Blaine stopped himself from moving all the way in and kissing Kurt right then and there. "Is that so?"
Kurt smiled. "Adam has told me he wants those same things—ow! Blaine," Kurt laughed, jerking forward when the man pinched his lower back. Blaine bit his lip and rolled over on top of Kurt, smirking as he threw the covers over them entirely and sliding in between his legs. Kurt laughed, linking his arms around Blaines neck.
"Its not funny," Blaine whispered. He hoped Big Brother wouldnt make them put their microphones back on since they were clearly still awake, but hopefully if they kept it down, Big Brother would just think they were messing around or something. Their conversation was something he wanted to keep sacred. Kurt giggled again, but apologized. "I want you. You know that?"
Kurt was thankful it was pitch black and that they were underneath the covers as he hummed in reply. "Do you?" he played in Blaines hair before sliding his hands down over the mans cheeks. "I want you, too."
Blaine slid his hands beneath the pillows. "Do you want to kiss me?"
Kurt exhaled softly and even that was enough to drive Blaine crazy. He closed his eyes, brushing his nose against Kurts. "Isnt it obvious?" Blaine licked his lips as he felt Kurts legs twining with his own. "Im honestly a little disappointed that you havent kissed me yet. Its been how long?"
"Too long," Blaine whispered back. "I thought about making you wait."
Kurts lips curved up. "Why would you do something like that?"
"I dont think I can…"
"Then dont…"
Blaine smiled now, leaning in a bit more. Once Kurts fingers found his hair again and the man tilted his head, Blaine could feel every nerve in his body preparing for the feeling that Kurts lips pressed against his would bring.
The feeling was absolute bliss.
Blaine felt like hed been falling, slowly but surely. Kurts lips were the softest thing hed ever felt. The way that Kurts fingers tightened in his hair and the man relaxed as soon as they began to deepen it almost caused Blaine to lose himself completely. They couldnt lose themselves yet.
He pulled back after a few seconds and Kurt could be heard sighing. Blaine licked his lips, pulling his hands from underneath the pillow and placing it on Kurts chin. He kissed him again, and then again when Kurt didnt seem thrilled with his pulling away, letting his lips linger a little bit longer.
It was Kurts favorite kiss.
Blaine tasted minty and sweet, and his lips were full against his own. He was soft at first, but then grew more confident, and there was always the softest moan when he pulled back from the kiss.
Kurt was honestly afraid that hed get addicted to this. Why did they have to meet on Big Brother—a place where this was going to be something theyd need to keep hidden? A place where they were definitely going to be targeted for their relationship. It wouldnt be long before their opposition noticed how strong they were together. Theyd work hard to pull them apart.
"Your lips are perfect," Blaine whispered. He moved forward between Kurts legs and the man played in his hair, smiling to himself.
"Your lips are perfect," Kurt repeated. "I cant believe how good a kisser you are. I thought youd suck."
Blaine laughed. "What?"
"You seem like one of those guys who goes for the tongue right away," Kurt added, moving his hands to Blaines shoulders and massaging. "No offense. But I could just see you trying to swallow a guys head."
Blaine grinned. "Just for that, the next kiss we have is totally going to be me eating your face off. You brought it on yourself."
Kurt hummed. "Youre such a great kisser, Id probably end up enjoying it."
Blaine kissed his cheek now, whispering in his ear. "Is that so?"
Kurt nodded. "I bet you have skills with that tongue."
"Wouldnt you like to know?"
Kurt laughed, trying not to shiver when Blaines lips kissed over the shell of his ear. He knew if they had hardcore shippers right now, they probably thought they were doing something crazy under the covers right now. The chat rooms were probably going bonkers. "One day I would. Maybe if I can get HOH you can reward me by showing me a thing or two…"
Blaine rolled off of him and pushed the covers low to over their chests. He licked his lips and grinned. "Would you really mess around in here?"
Kurt bit his lip and shrugged. He didnt want to be that guy, but what was the point of winning a week in that wonderful room upstairs with a bed that size and not having a little fun? "I dont think so," he said instead. "Were taking it slow, anyway."
Blaine looked in his general direction, a bit shocked when Kurt rolled over and wrapped his arm around his waist. Kurts head was on his chest next and Blaine smiled to himself, wrapping an arm around him. "Slow. We can do slow."
Kurt nodded. "Good. Are you going to sleep shirtless tonight? Because this is… this is nice but I dont want to wake up at 4 in the morning with wood."
Blaine burst out laughing before quieting down a bit. The walls were kind of thin. Like, really thin, and he didnt want to be lectured by Schue in the morning for waking him up.
Schue woke up at the sound of someone yawning, he was such a light sleeper.
"If you wake up with wood, I will help you through it."
"Slow, Blaine."
Blaine smirked. "I will help you slowly, then. But seriously, if you want me to put on a shirt I will. Let me know."
Kurt rubbed his face against the smooth skin of Blaines chest. "Mm. Ill be fine."
Blaine kissed his forehead. "Can we make out in the morning?"
Kurt laughed, but eventually he nodded. "As long as were alone, yes. Goodnight."
Blaine closed his eyes, smiling to himself. "Goodnight, Kurt. Goodnight Zigzags if you guys can hear us. We wuv you!"

Finn didnt want to wake up before 9 in the morning. Ever. But the whole night pretty much sucked. The lawn chairs were all crappy and small. He was a big guy. He couldnt get comfortable and he had to spend a week in here.
Mike, Rachel, and Santana all seemed to be fine. Finn didnt know if it was only him, but they were asleep every time he woke up to try and reposition himself. He hated being a Have-Not.
Worst of all, these blankets werent big enough to stay on him, and he was starving.
Finn got up and stretched. His knees cracked and Santana moved a bit, but after that she went right back to sleep. Finn looked at Rachel and smiled before tipping out of the room. Of course before he could do that, he hit his foot on the corner of his lawn chair, and Santana muttered a curse word or two at him to stop making so much noise, but it couldve been worse.
Finn wasnt expecting to see Kurt and Blaine still asleep when he walked into the room, but he also wasnt expecting to see a shirtless Blaine being little spoon to his older stepbrother. The sight made him pause mid step and he stared, wondering whether or not he should wake them up.
This didnt look good. If someone who wasnt Finn walked in—someone who didnt know how close of friends Kurt and Blaine were, theyd probably assume the worst here. On top of that, Blaine didnt need to be shirtless, did he? Finn sighed as stomach growled. This would have to happen now. He tapped Kurt a couple times, trying not to focus on how his brothers hand was holding Blaines in front of the younger mans abdomen. He had nothing against them being friends but that was a bit much.
"Kurt!" he whisper-shouted.
Blaine opened his eyes first, but Finn could tell he hadnt quite realized why his eyes were opening. He cleared his throat again and started to nudge Kurt as Blaine turned around, giving him a sleepy look. It was then that Blaine probably realized how this looked and jumped up, falling off the bed and causing Kurt to jump up in confusion.
"Oh my god?! What?!"
Finn held both hands in the air and looked between the two of them as Blaine got up. "Im sorry? What… are you okay dude?"
Blaine hopped up and stared at Finn, nodding. He looked around for a t-shirt and picked up one that was all black, quickly putting it on. "Im fine. Sorry. I um… we were just—"
"Fell asleep," Kurt said, not sure what else to say. "You know when you move in your sleep? I guess thats what happened…"
Finn nodded his understanding. "If it was someone like Sam walking in here, hed think you two liked each other. That was weird."
Kurt started to button up the buttons on his shirt that were undone and nodded. "Yeah. I know. So whats… whats wrong? Is—"
Please put on your microphone.
"Gosh," Kurt reached out and grabbed the device, clipping the battery pack into his pants and the voice piece on his shirt. He could hear Blaine behind him looking around for his microphone and finally finding it underneath the pillows.
"Im going to go get new batteries from the storage room," Blaine announced, quickly walking off. Kurt nodded. Finn looked between the both of them.
Now, he was getting suspicious.
"Okay," Finn sat down on Mikes bed and stared at his brother. "What the hell is going on?"
Kurt dragged his hands down his face. "Shit. Nothing."
"Kurt."
"I… Finn it isnt something that I should be the one to tell you, okay? Just… tell me what you came in here for."
Finn stared at him for a moment. "We came into this game together. You cant be loyal to other people over me, Kurt."
"Im not…" Kurt sighed, trailing off and shaking his head. "Im not being loyal to him. Its just that he should be the one to say what this is."
"Are you two…?"
Kurt looked at him, but didnt bother to reply. But honestly, to Finn, his lack of a response was more than enough of an answer.
"So thats a yes…"
Kurt was still quiet. Eventually, he looked away and at the corner of the room. "We kissed."
Finn shook his head and stood up, turning to leave.
"Finn."
"Listen, Kurt. The guy is saying hes straight, okay? Hes telling everyone that he loves chicks, but you two swap spit and cuddle shirtless in private? Now Im going to talk to him because were in an alliance with him and his sister and if theyre playing us—"
"Theyre not, Finn."
"If hes using you, Im not standing for that—"
"Finn!" Kurt stood up, trying to quiet his brother. "Please!"
Finn rubbed the back of his neck and started to pace back and forth.
"Hes not using me. Santana and Blaine are two people who are honestly loyal to us in this game. Please dont screw this up."
"I cant tell Rachel that Im interested in her but you and Blaine can mess around in here, thats what youre saying?"
Kurt didnt realize how much of a hypocrite he was being telling his stepbrother not to have a showmance while he and Blaine were literally throwing hearteyes at each other every chance they got. He took a deep breath and tried to gain control of the situation. "Im sorry. I honestly didnt intend to start liking Blaine, okay? I didnt want to get romantically involved to anyone here. But hes someone I cant deny."
Finn didnt really react, and that scared Kurt a great deal. Finn who kept things in was a scary Finn, because when he let it out, best believe that a chair was getting kicked over. "Do you want to go talk about this somewhere so I can better explain myself?"
Finn shook his head no. "I just want to make sure this guy isnt going to burn us… and I want you to play smarter. Anyone couldve walked in, dude. Just… just think, okay?"
Kurt nodded his agreement. "Im sorry about that. Were going to be smarter. And Blaines going to call a house meeting when people wake up so you dont have to worry about him screwing us over. Cool?"
Blaine knocked softly and opened the door. He looked at Kurt and offered what he hoped was an encouraging smile before turning to Finn. "Um… I just wanted to come in and get some things for the shower. I dont mean to interrupt…"
"Its cool," Finn said. "I just came in here to ask my bro to make some Big Brother slop taste good. I slept like crap and Im starving."
Blaine could tell the atmosphere was a bit tense and didnt want to overstay his welcome. He nodded to them and walked over to get his things for the shower. Kurt gestured for Finn to follow him. "Im going to make breakfast if you want anything, Blaine."
The man smiled. "Please. Thatd be great."
Kurt nodded and walked out, and Blaine didnt miss the look Finn gave him before disappearing too.
Fuck. The last thing he needed was someone who was on his side upset with him too.

Later that morning, as people actually started to wake up, Blaine started to feel nervous. He was in the backyard with Santana and Mercedes—the two girls running their mouth about who they wanted Marley to nominate. Blaine couldnt stop thinking about how he was about to come out to these people on national television and it was starting to mess with him a bit. What if they targeted Kurt because of it? He just really didnt want Kurt to go home because of his decisions.
Honestly. Blaine would wreak havoc in this house if Kurt left because of these assholes.
"Are you okay, young one?" Mercedes asked, looking over at Blaine whod gotten out of the pool and started pacing. "It always helps when you sing a little."
Blaine shook his head no. "Im about to call a house meeting because I have something important to say. Can you guys wait in the living room while I gather everyone?"
"Enano…" Santana looked at him like he was crazy. "What are you doing?"
"Necesito salir," Blaine put his hands on his hips and looked at his sister. "Si sigo con esta mentira nos voy a meter en problemas a todos."
Mercedes shook her head. She shouldve paid attention in High School foreign language class.
Santana wanted to tell him to keep his mouth shut because he decided to keep it hidden and now he was stuck with that stupid choice, but she sat back and let him play the game the way he wanted to play it. If this came back to bite Blaine in his ass, as it would most likely would, hed have to deal with that. "Okay. Es tu elección, enano."
Mercedes looked a bit confused, but she stood up and followed Blaine inside when he walked off. Santana took a deep breath and looked up at the sky.
This should be fun… she thought.

Kurt smiled as he walked into the HOH bedroom and looked for a place to sit. There were clothes everywhere, probably a combination of Marleys, Rachels, and Kittys. And those were definitely Quinns shoes in the corner. It looked like the girls had just decided to turn this place into a room for their slumber parties or something. Kitty came out of the bathroom as he sat down on the sofa, pushing some dresses over, and she smirked when she saw him.
"Oh? Kurt! And hes alone… thats new."
Kurt fixed the collar of his shirt as he smiled at her. God, she was so bitchy. "Hello, Kitty."
"I hope you slept well…" she winked before walking out of the room and Marley followed behind her, closing and locking the door. Immediately, Kurt wondered if Kitty had snuck downstairs at any point last night when they were asleep and saw them… he and Blaine had gotten pretty wrapped up in one another at one point.
They had to play smarter. Fuck.
"So, whats up Kurt? What did you want to talk about?"
Kurt gave the girl another smile. "I just wanted to say congratulations again on HOH. Your room looks… lovely."
Marley grinned as she sat on the bed. "Thank you. Ok. Let me have it. You want to know if I was the one who interrupted you and Blaine last night."
Kurt laughed and sat back on the sofa. He looked up at the monitor and saw how busy it was downstairs. Everyone was in the kitchen being loud and having a good time. "Whether it was you or not doesnt matter, Marley. Im up here to have an important conversation."
She stared at him. "Which is…?"
"I know youre close to Blaine and I am too. I just want you to know that Im cool with that. I dont know if thats a problem for you…"
Marley smiled. "Not a problem at all. Hes told me you are his friend. Thats cool."
Kurt could smell the bitter on her. "Well I was thinking since we are both friends with Blaine and we have that common bond, maybe you and I could get to know one another and work together. If you keep me safe, I make sure youre safe."
Marley sat back on the bed and nodded at that. Kurt couldnt tell what was going on in her head but she didnt seem entirely disgusted by the idea. That was a start.
Was he actually going to work with her? To a limit. At least until he couldnt anymore. But he was being genuine.
"That sounds… good. Im a little shocked, but yeah! That sounds great."
Kurt smiled. "Great. So whenever you need me…" he sat forward, preparing to stand after he finished his sentence. "Just say the word. Im willing to work with you."
"Sounds good." She stood up as well and went to open the door for him. As soon as she pulled it open, they were both shocked to see Blaine standing there.
Blaine was wearing the Charlie Brown Zigzag hoodie. He looked like he was seconds away from puking, but his face softened when he saw Kurt standing behind Marley.
"Hey."
Marley grinned. "Whats up? Are you okay?"
"Im calling a house meeting so I was hoping that you two could join us downstairs."
Marley turned back to look at Kurt and then nodded at Blaine. Kurt had to remind himself to breathe. He was scared for Blaine—he was worried about the reaction from the HouseGuests and whether or not theyd be supportive or assholes about it. Marley led the way down the stairs as Kurt grabbed Blaines hand to give it a quick squeeze, letting him know he was there.
They joined everyone in the living room. Half of the HouseGuests, Finn included, were quiet and curious about what Blaine was about to say. The other half with ringleader Kitty were loud and chatting over one another as they sat on the sofa. The only spot open on the sofa was between Schue and Adam, lucky for Kurt, and he walked over and sat before turning his attention to Blaine.
Blaine put his hands in the pockets of the jeans he wore and cleared his throat. Mike sat on the arm of the opposite sofa, laughing at whatever Puck said as he ate some slop he warmed up. Unlike the other Have-Nots, he was used to this. He practically inhaled the stuff.
Again, Blaine cleared his throat. "Thanks everyone for giving me the time to speak my mind. I just wanted to get something off my chest and Ill get you go on about your days. I know Marley still has to do the nomination ceremony in a bit, and I dont want to keep you for long, so can you guys just quiet down for a bit?"
Kitty laughed as she stretched her legs out in front of her. She was seated next to Finn who looked annoyed. "Just spit it out, curly."
"How about you shut your mouth and let him say what he needs to?" Santana said, turning to look at her. Rachel sighed and put her arms around Kitty.
"Blaine, please. Continue," Rachel said. Kitty pulled out of her grasp with a smirk that Kurt wished to the heavens he could wipe off her face, but he said nothing. Sam smiled and turned to Blaine.
"As I was saying, I just wanted to get something off my chest." Blaine looked over at Kurt and saw Adam staring back at him, patiently. He took a deep breath. "Ive been telling people from day one that I was straight but that isnt the case at all."
Kitty looked up. The room finally fell completely quiet—no tapping, no chewing, no murmuring at all. Blaine pulled his hands out of his pockets and clasped them together, ignoring everyones eyes on him so that he could actually focus on what he needed to say. "I know that everyone in this game values people who are honest and no one wants a dishonest person to beat them. The reason I have been hiding the fact that Im gay is because I thought it would actually hurt me in the long run, but if it does, I dont want to have to have won while hiding who I am. I love who I am and I want other people to respect who I am." He looked around the room at all of the eyes peering back at him, not noticing whether or not any of the stares were judgmental. He focused on Kurts face and continued. "Im Blaine. Im a 21 year-old from Los Angeles and I am gay." He looked away. "Thats pretty much all I have to say. Once again, I apologize for trying to hide that… to the viewers, I dont want anyone to think Im ashamed of my orientation because I am not. I had a moment of fear but now I realized I was stupid."
Mike nodded, still looking at him. Blaine cleared his throat again. "You guys can either accept me or reject me but Im still going to play this game as hard as I can."
Sam looked around the room and smiled. "Ive always had my doubts about you. Whenever were talking about hot chicks you just zone out or leave… so whatever." Marley looked at Sam as he continued. "Good to get it off your chest, I guess."
Adam wasnt shocked at all. He was pretty sure Kurt and Blaine liked one another. It wasnt new information.
"I accept you, dude." Finn stood up. "I wouldve accepted you from the first moment had you told us. It doesnt matter to me."
Rachel looked at her younger sister who she knew had an embarrassing crush on Blaine. Marley didnt look happy right now. Kitty was smiling, obviously proud of herself.
She knew it.
"I accept you for you, Blaine," Rachel said.
Quinn nodded, trying not to laugh at how Mercedes jaw was dropped. It wasnt very shocking. Out of all the chicks who walked around in bikinis, Blaine had never even peeked. Sure, he flirted with them a few times, but it was his personality. He had no interest. So this coming out, while not exactly expected, wasnt very shocking. "We should all accept you, Blaine. If anyone makes you feel bad for being gay then screw them."
"I agree," Mike chimed in. He put his bowl on his thigh and looked away from Finn to Blaine. "You do know we have two gay guys and a lesbian here already. We dont really care about what youre into. Just be you."
Blaine smiled at them. "Yeah. Thanks."
"Were going to be here for a long time," Puck said. "Hopefully. And if youre in here spending time pretending to be something youre not, you wont really enjoy yourself." Of course Puck already knew, but he had to hang around and make sure no one said anything out of line. Blaine was his boy and all. "That goes for everyone."
Schue nodded, smiling at Blaine and hoping that everyone would support him. "Im cool. This has nothing to do with the game. We can move on from this. Cool everyone?" He looked to his left and Kurt nodded, smiling a bit at Blaine. He was happy that this didnt blow up or anything.
At least not yet.
Santana stood up and went to hug him. Blaine grimaced at the affection. They never did this. "Im proud of you, enano. Now can I be excused? I have slop to go eat."
"Marley and I need to be excused too," Kitty said, standing up as Quinn and Schue went to go hug Blaine. Marley didnt say anything as she walked past Blaine and he knew that meant she was pissed that hed been telling her about how straight he was. He sighed but smiled when Schue patted him on the shoulder. Mercedes pinched his ass before hugging him, obviously upset that he never told her, but she was very forgiving.
Blaine literally told her he wanted to kiss Kurt. It wasnt his fault she thought he was kidding. Anyway, hed get her to duet with him later and shed move past it.
Adam walked over to congratulate him on coming out, but Blaine didnt really want to hear it. It was hard for him to trust someone like Adam. He felt bad for his reaction and he knew that the Diary Room would bring it up and show it on television, but he didnt care.
"I think its great that youre a unicorn. Unicorns are my favorite."
"Thank you, Brittany." He looked away from her as she walked off to the kitchen, going to join Sam, Kitty, and Marley. Kurt was still seated on the sofa and was smiling, obviously a bit pleased.
"Impressive."
"Yeah?" Blaine walked over and sat down next to him. Kurt noticed Kitty watching the two of them and acknowledged that because of this, he and Blaine were going to have a hard time.
"Yeah. I need to tell you something, and I need you to listen, okay Blaine?"
Blaine raised an eyebrow at that but nodded. "Do you want to go somewhere private?"
There was only one room that was private-private, and that was the studio room. It was the one place in the music-themed home that had a lock on it, well, besides the HOH bedroom of course. …And the bathroom stall. People went in there to discuss game most of the time, but Kurt hadnt really spent time in the room. He didnt need to. They hadnt been doing any real scheming in the few weeks theyd been there. "We can go to the studio."
Blaine made an even weirder face. "Do you really want to go in there alone after the speech I just made?"
"I dont think it matters at this point," Kurt whispered, standing to his feet. "Im sure that Marley is going to put me up."
Blaine looked pissed off as soon as the words left Kurts lips but the man quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him up.
"Do not react. I need you to keep calm."
"Didnt you talk to her?"
He nodded before gesturing back there. "Follow me and please dont make a fuss…"
Blaine nodded.
Kurt started to walk off in the direction of the backyard. The studio was between the bathroom and the staircase, and luckily no one was inside right now. He opened the door and let Blaine walk in first, locking the door behind them. The room was small with mirrors on every wall, and gave the feeling like you were in a recording booth. There was a leather bench lining the walls—all but one, and Blaine went to lie back on it.
Kurt sighed as he walked over to the opposite side of the room. "I spoke to Marley and I told her that we had you in common and we should work together. But," he picked up a pillow and sat down. "After you told everyone you were gay, her face changed completely."
Blaine stared up at the ceiling.
"Everything you told her about the two of us just being friends while you flirted with her is going to be fresh in her mind—"
"Kurt, she has a boyfriend—"
"And how many times have people with partners outside of the house came in here and had romances? That doesnt mean anything."
Blaine shook his head. "If she nominates you Im making sure she or Rachel leaves next week. I dont care."
Kurt was quiet at first. This was what he didnt want. He was happy Blaine was out and he was proud of the decision he made, but now they had to deal with people targeting the two of them. Kitty wouldnt rest until one of them were gone, Kurt knew that. He played at his bare wrist where his cuff was. "Theres still the Veto competition, Blaine. Im not afraid."
Blaine continued to look at the ceiling.
"Are you afraid?"
"If you leave because of this Im going to have so many regrets about the way Ive been playing and it hasnt even been a month yet."
Kurt smiled. "If I leave were still going to be Team Zigzag."
Blaine turned to look at him. "Youre not leaving."
Kurt stood up and walked over to him. He lifted Blaines legs and slid beneath them, resting the mans shins over his lap. "Im lucky youre here. If I were to leave, Id be ok with it because I got to play the game with my stepbrother and meet someone as special as you."
Blaine propped a pillow under his head so that he could look at Kurt. "Youre not leaving."
Kurt smiled. "Ok. We should get out of here before people think were in here screwing."
Blaine hated that Kurt made him laugh because he was upset over the fact that Marley was about to nominate him, but he had to laugh. He turned his body, dropping his legs off the bench and standing up after Kurt. "Come here."
Kurt smirked, wrapping his arms around Blaines shoulder and giving him a soft kiss. Blaine grinned into it and closed his eyes, pulling Kurt a little closer by his belt loops. They started to move their lips when there was a hard knock on the door. Kurt flinched a little but relaxed when he heard Marleys voice on the other side.
"Its time for the Nomination Ceremony."
Blaine had yet to let go of Kurts waist and Kurt had to pretend not to see the man staring at his lips as he turned around. He pulled away after kissing Blaine quickly on the cheek and opened the door, thanking Marley as he walked out. Blaine followed behind him and took a deep breath.
"You didnt say anything to me after I came out," he said to Marley.
She smiled and patted him on the back. "I dont have anything to say to someone who blatantly lies to get ahead. Ill see you at the ceremony."
Blaine watched her walk away and nodded to himself.
Now, it was really time to play.
-B-B-
"That stuff you made was great. The slop pancakes. Dude it was delicious."
Kurt smiled at Finn as they sat at the round table in the dining room waiting for Marley. "Everything I cook is delicious to you. Theres no way slop was good."
"The cinnamon helped," Rachel chimed in. Kurt smiled at her.
"If thats the case then Im glad I could help. When Im a Have-Not you guys have to prepare my meals in return."
Finn knew hed probably burn down the BB house trying, but Kurt was worth it.
Santana and Blaine walked over with Adam and all three took their seats. Production asked everyone to simmer down a bit—Mercedes and Sam were arguing over him using the last of her toothpaste, and Mike rolled his eyes at them with a smile.
It wasnt long before Marley walked over with the heavy wheel holding all of the keys of people who were safe that week. The keys had names written on them, and whoever didnt get their key meant that they were a nominee to be evicted from the Big Brother house. She sat the wheel on the table and smiled at everyone.
"Hey guys," she took a deep breath. "Well Im a little nervous, but, I think you all know how this works. One of my duties as Head of Household is to pick two people to put up for eviction."
Blaine looked across the table at Kurt and Kurt gave a small smile back.
Please dont have an outburst, Blaine. Its not worth it.
"What Im going to do is pull the first key, and the person whose name is on that key is safe. That person will pull the next key and read the name of the next safe person, and it goes on from there. The last two people who dont have their keys are the two people that I will be nominating for eviction."
Everyone nodded. Finn looked pretty pale in the face. Mercedes looked like she didnt know what to expect, and Kurt had a feeling a lot of people didnt know where Marleys head was at. It was still early in the game and she was a pretty quiet person, so she could be about to do anything right now.
But, he had an idea he was an obvious choice to go on the block.
"As you all know, as a member of Schues team, I cannot nominate my teammates Schue, Finn, or Blaine, so they are safe from elimination this week. I will begin with the first name." She turned the key inside the wheel and pulled it out, smiling as she read it. "Kitty, youre safe."
Kitty stood up with a grin and Santana looked like she wanted to shoot herself. "Thank you, Marley." She turned the wheel around to herself and put the key around her neck before pulling out the next one. "Rachel."
Rachel stood up and thanked Marley as well. They continued like this, name after name. Sam, Adam, Puck, Mercedes, Quinn, Mike, and finally there were three people left. Kurt looked across the table at Santana and the two of them pretty much knew they were going up. Blaine sat back in his seat and stared at the table, not wanting to look anyone in the eye right now. Brittany looked to be fine with not being chosen yet which was very odd, but then again Brittany was very odd.
Mike turned the last key and pulled it out, shocked as he read the final name. "Santana," he said. "Youre safe."
Blaine looked up at Marley and the girl stood at the head of the table, pretty pleased with herself. Schue didnt seem to follow why she nominated who she nominated, so he obviously didnt know she was going to do that. Some leader he was.
Santana didnt say thank you as she put the key around her neck. She sat back and looked at Blaine who she knew was going to be upset after this.
"As you can see, I nominated Brittany and Kurt for eviction."
"What?" Brittany asked, looking up from playing with a napkin. "You nominated me?!"
Kurt looked at Marley.
"I nominated Kurt and Brittany for eviction," Marley repeated. "It was a difficult decision because were all so new here, but Kurt, you seem like a really strong competitor," she said. Kitty smirked, not even wanting to hide it, and Kurt nodded at her bullshit.
He was nominated because Blaine wasnt interested in her. Plain and simple.
"And Brittany, I nominated you because you havent really made any attempts to come to me or seem interested in the game. You seem like you just want to coast, and like this is vacation."
Santana rolled her eyes. Marley was going to be so fun to torture next week.
Of course, Marley and Kitty were using Brittany as a pawn. They didnt have any intentions of sending her home. But Brittany didnt know that. She started to cry and Finn who was seated next to her looked genuinely confused on how to handle the situation.
Everyone looked at one another.
"Um. This concludes our nomination ceremony." Marley said, picking up the wheel. Everyone stood up and started to do the bullshit hugging as per usual, but Blaine just ended up going straight into the Rock & Roll bedroom. Kurt watched him as Finn pulled him in for a hug.
"Bro. Shes on my team and I didnt even know she was going to do that. She told me she was putting up Adam."
Kurt hugged him back. "Im winning the veto, okay? Dont worry about it." Santana walked over and hugged him too and Kurt smiled. "Its fine, guys."
Mercedes finished helping Brittany calm down before approaching the group. "We need to have a meeting later on so it doesnt seem suspicious. Outside at around 6 tonight. Cool?"
Everyone nodded. Puck exhaled looked around the dining room. Shit was about to get real.
-B-B-
"Are you okay?"
"Why are you asking me if Im okay when youre the one whos in danger of going home because of me?"
Kurt smiled at Blaine and walked over to the fridge in the storage room. "Stop freaking out. I thought you told me I wasnt going home."
Blaine leant against the counter. "You arent. I still feel like I screwed up."
"I love your smile, Blaine. Thats something to think about."
Blaine licked his lips, trying not to stare at Kurt bent over and looking through the fridge. "Are you dropping hints that you want me to smile more? Because I dont feel like smiling."
The room to the storage room opened and Marley walked in. She froze a bit when she saw them but entered anyway, walking to look through the cabinets. "Has anyone seen paprika?"
Kurt pulled a carton of eggs from the fridge and handed them to Blaine. "I thought I saw some out there already…" he pulled out milk next and then cheese. "Above the stove."
Marley turned around and shook her head no. "Its definitely not there."
Blaine wasnt even acknowledging that shed walked in. "Anything else?" he asked Kurt.
Kurt shook his head no. "This is good."
"Listen, youre mad at me and I get that but I have reason to be mad at you, too." Marley said, looking directly at Blaine though he didnt turn in her direction. Kurt took a deep breath and gestured to the door.
"Im going to head out and give you two sometime alone…"
Blaine looked like he wasnt a fan of that option at all but Kurt left, closing the door behind himself after giving Blaine a serious look. Blaine put the eggs on the counter and dragged a hand down his face. "How can I help you, Marley?"
"You can start by not being such an asshole."
"I dont know how to do that. Anything else?"
"You do realize that you lied to me the entire time weve been here, correct?" she asked. "And I trusted you. How is that fair?"
"How is it fair for you to nominate Kurt whos done nothing to you?" He asked, finally turning to face her. Marley folded her arms over her chest. "Its not fair. If you have beef with me, deal with me."
"Look how upset you are," she calmly replied. "I am dealing with you. Kurt came to me nicely and spoke to me, and I wasnt going to nominate him. But just knowing that youre a dick who only likes dick and was using me to get ahead in this game…Im getting payback."
Blaine stared at her.
"No more the sweet one Marley," she said confidently.
"Suit yourself," Blaine turned around and picked up the eggs. "If thats how were going to play then I can play that way. For the record, since a public apology wasnt enough—"
"It wasnt."
Blaine nodded. "Personally Ill say that Im sorry. What I did wasnt right. But Im not sorry for what Im about to do for how youre retaliating."
"I didnt know you cared about him this much." Marley told him. Blaine could tell by the break in her voice that she was about to cry as soon as he left. He shook his head at the door and turned around to face her again.
"Well now you know. Its all out on the table. Cool?"
Marley nodded. "Fine."
Blaine opened the door and left, not caring whether or not she was in there crying. He really did care about her but the way things played out were harsh. She didnt have to target Kurt, and if Blaine knew the game at all, he knew that Santana would be the backdoor option if the veto was used.
This week was going to suck.
