I wish that I could tell you something to take it all away - Save You, Simple Plan
The excited buzz of R2 D2 somewhere in the depths of Elwy’s dream sleep did nothing but elicit an annoyed groan from his mouth until, bleary eyed and stiff he came to and glanced over at the buzzing phone on his desk. It stopped, and he let his head slump down onto his arm once again.
“Elwy” a voice said, dragging out the Y like only one person in his life did regularly. He sat up straight instantly, squinting at the brightness of the laptop in front of him.
“Oh god lily I’m so sorry” he croaked, rubbing at his eyes “I must have dropped off, how long have you been there?”
“Erm since you started moaning about history and then put your head down after I turned it into an innuendo. Then you must have dozed.”
“Shit, what time is it?” he asked, shifting around to stretch in his desk chair. It wasn’t the comfiest thing to begin with and spending almost three hours slumped over in it asleep didn’t leave much to be desired in the ways of satisfaction. As soon as his torso was good and loose he slumped down onto the desk again, groaning at the sight of unfinished assignments next to his arm. “Do my homework for me”
“Nu-uh you fell asleep, it’s your-“ she was cut off mid sentence by a cough that sounded ten times worse when amplified oddly by the laptops speakers. Elwy raised his head and grimaced at her image on the screen, suddenly guilty for falling asleep “and it’s your fault for wanting to Skype me” she finished eventually, pushing her red hair out of her face.
“Well you know” Elwy said, trying to sound happier than he felt “I miss you, and I’m so busy, I just wanted to talk to you properly” her features softened as he watched, head dropping to her shoulder
“I miss you too baban, any chance of you coming over soon?” by soon he knew she meant before it’s too late, but he left those words unspoken as his phone buzzed again. “Oh yeah, that went off a couple of times. I thought you actually had a real artoo unit in there” Elwy snorted
“I wish” he deadpanned as he picked the device up, lighting up the screen to see Kurt’s name shining brightly up at him. His shoulders slumped
“Anything important?” Lily asked curiously. Elwy rubbed his eyes again and placed the phone down face first.
“No. just Kurt” he replied, shaking himself alert and focusing on the girl in front of him.
“I hope you aren’t neglecting him because of me” she said, tone all too serious. He shrugged.
“We’re not really talking at the moment.” He watched as her eyebrows narrowed
“You and Kurt? Not talking? What shit storm went down there I wonder”
Elwy rolled his eyes “just stuff. I hardly see him anymore, now he’s with Blaine.”
“Is that it? You’re jealous because he’s spending more time with Blaine?” she huffed out a laugh and shook her head “honestly, I wish I was there to slap you across the head you idiot” Elwy’s eyes narrowed to slits as she continued to laugh “what?” she said, sounding as if her laughing at his pain ought to be understandable “doesn’t that sound a little like how he got when you and I started going out? You hardly talked to him then and didn’t even notice he was upset until his dad called up to see what you’d done”
“Mr Hummel angry down the phone is a memory I would rather not remember diolch yn fawr.” Now it was Lily’s turn to roll her eyes. He couldn’t help but smile at the motion, the way her fingers began to tug at the ends of her hair. It was a so familiar he felt warmth spread through him instantly. They may have only been dating a few months, but Elwy had known her long before that.
“You should speak to him” she said so quietly the mic almost didn’t pick her voice up. Elwy sighed and slid his phone back and forth across the desk in front of him. “At least apologise” at that he let out a sound of disbelief
“Yeah, because I’m the one who should be sorry”
“Elwy Dafydd Williams you get on that phone and apologise for being a prick” he raised his hands in surrender until Lily let her shoulders slump and eyes crinkle with a sad one sided smile “I know you’re still in denial, but you’re going to need him El, you know that” he met her eyes through the screen, as if by sheer force of will he could beam himself next to her through the internet. She looked tired, and ill, dark rings encircling her eyes, jumper hanging loosely off one shoulder. He felt a little more of himself fall away into the abyss. He smiled back none the less.
“Maybe I could apologise” he couldn’t say no to her, not now. Her smile widened
“That’s my Elwy. Now I have to go for dinner, I’ll speak to you later?” she asked chirpily, hand disappearing as it approached the laptop in front of her. He nodded
“Of course baban, I’ll message you”
“Sure thing, love you El”
“Love you Lils” and then she was gone with a beep. He let out a lungful of air; resting his head on the desk before gathering the courage and energy to pick up his phone and check the texts. There were three.
[10:28] Gayface
Hey Elwy, I know I’ve been distant and you still don’t want to talk to me but I could really use you right now.
[12:04] Gayface
I know you’re still angry and you can keep being angry at me, I just need to talk to you, please.
[13:43] Gayface
Look, I’m really sorry El, I just really really need a friend right now, you specifically. Please call me, I’m sorry.
He frowned down at the words, the apology, and the increasing sound of desperation. Even through text Elwy could tell he wasn’t maximising anything. After ten minutes of pacing his room, checking his phone and flopping down annoyed onto his bed he slipped it off the desk and typed out a reply;
Okay, can we meet? Lima Bean, twenty minutes.
He waited impatiently until a reply came through;
Sure, thank you so much. See you in twenty.
As an after thought Elwy added:
I’m sorry Kurt, I’ve been a douche
A reply came through not a minute later
I know, but we’ll talk about that in a bit. See you there J
He smiled at the sass, knowing Kurt wasn’t one to be passive aggressive when he knew he was right. He had been an idiot, he could see that now, something about the perspective he gathered every time he saw Lily’s face. It woke a dormant part of his mind, the part that told him that he was smarter than this. He may be a seventeen year old boy but having Kurt as a best friend certainly did induce a sort of…sophistication in his thinking which he may not act upon most of the time but was always there urging him forward or staying his hand. He’d always said Kurt was a 60 year old in a teenage body and sometimes thought the same of himself. Then he would do something rash and he would be reminded of his actual age. Rash like ignoring his best friend for no other reason that infantile jealousy. Sometimes he was the epitome of hopelessness. Luckily, he was smart enough to know when his own downfalls began to affect others, and know when an apology was in dire need.
Like now for instance.
Elwy skipped down the stairs and out the door. And then stopped. School days he stole a lift off Kurt or caught the bus but with no license he had no way of actually getting to his destination.
“Realised our little plot hole Williams?” Brandon chuckled from behind him. Elwy turned to see him leaning in the doorway looking as smug as usual
“Shove off Brandon, or I’ll blacken that jaw again” the boy raised a hand to the fading bruise on his cheek. That one had earned Elwy a months worth of chores, but both of his host parents knew what a pain in the ass Brandon could be, and what he was going through, so they’d let it slide at that.
“Well I was going to offer you a ride but if that’s how you’re going to be” he shook his head and made to re-enter the house. Elwy rolled his eyes, too tired and emotionally drained to fight back. And he really needed a ride.
“Truce?” he called after him, knowing he’d regret it. Brandon smirked
“That depends. See I only give to receive” he shrugged “you willing to return the favour?” there was a pause
“That depends” Elwy replied coolly. Brandon nodded appreciatively.
“Only fair. See I’ve been a tad bored lately, Lima isn’t the hub for activity and that Glee club of yours…there must be some singletons right?” Elwy arched his eyebrow in question “get me an introduction and I’ll lend you the car until your parents get their shit together for you” he grinned, dangling his keys in front of his face. Elwy considered.
“Fine” he gritted, shooting out a hand to catch the keys as they flew towards his face. “But it’s got nothing to do with me if they regret saying yes once they realise what a dickhead you are, deal?”
“Logical. Keep it in one piece” he popped a salute and closed the door behind him
Elwy tucked himself into Brandon’s Mazda, wondering if he’d ever drive in this country legally.
He arrived only just in time, considering he’d left as soon as the time was set. The queue wasn’t overly large, and he spotted Kurt already two away from the barista. He hesitated.
It was one of those moments that he had frequently, where he imagined every possible way something could go. He’d done it numerous times before Kurt had visited two years ago and again when he’d boarded the plane over here almost a month back. Scenarios flashed across his vision; Kurt smiling warmly, wrapping Elwy in a hug. Kurt grimacing slightly and dropping his head with a shrug. Kurt fiddling with his fingers like he did when he got nervous, nibbling at his lip. Kurt doing a 180 and walking out without so much as a hello.
Elwy pushed the thoughts out of his mind and steeled himself to step up beside him and tap gingerly on his shoulder. He turned instantly, taking in Elwy’s face and attire. Of all the things he had been expecting, Elwy was shocked at what came out of Kurt’s mouth first;
“Oh you’re wearing that terrible sweater again. Explain” Elwy gaped at him, hands poised awkwardly at his sides. “I bought you clothes. You bought you clothes. Damn it Blaine even bought you clothes.”
“Well, I was in a bit of a hurry you know. My best friend texts out of the blue sounding all messed up. What was I supposed to do, whack out the catwalk wardrobe?” he asked incredulously. Kurt frowned and then answered to his even further confusion
“Well, yes, that would have been nice. I do like to be seen around well dressed people” he took a step as the line moved. “Besides, I think you owe me that at least. For being a class A d-bag and all” Elwy sighed in exasperation
“I came here to apologise, not have my dress sense mocked! Honestly Kurt, like, what the hell?” Kurt turned back to him, folded his arms across his chest…and then smiled.
“Oh El I’ve missed you” and then Elwy’s arms were full of a warm and fluffy Kurt. He tensed for a moment before relaxing into it, huffing out a weak laugh.
“Okay then” he said as Kurt pulled back, rotating on the spot to order their coffees. Elwy took a moment to straighten his jacket and collar. “I forgot what a fashion Nazi you were”
“No, the Nazi’s were an order that carried out mass genocide. I merely police when the opportunity arises” Kurt said pompously, pulling Elwy to the side as they waited for their coffees. Only now that he was relaxed could Elwy tell how tense Kurt had been when he’d first spotted him. Suddenly he could actually see his neck above the purple turtleneck sweater he was wearing, and he stood that little bit shorter, one leg bent, hip cocked to one side
“Alright well, I promise not to offend you with my clothes again, forgive me?” he held up his hands, trying to insinuate that that wasn’t the only thing he was apologising for. Kurt considered him for a moment and then sighed.
“As long as you explain to me what this week was about and don’t do it again, yes” he handed over Elwy’s coffee, gesturing to a window seat.
“I thought we came here to talk about you?”
“We will, I just to find the words first. It’s all extremely complicated”
“Bloody hell Kurt we haven’t been talking for a week and you go all cray cray on me”
Kurt arched an eyebrow
“Sorry. Too much Tumblr. Anyway, who’s going first” he said, changing the subject quickly. He’d tried explaining his fandom addiction to Kurt, but like most outsiders, he just didn’t get it.
“First off correction: you weren’t talking to me” Kurt tipped a sachet of sweetener into his mocha “and secondly it depends. How big is this shit storm you’re about to offload onto me” Elwy pursed his lips.
“I don’t know. It’s not so much events as general existential philosophy”
“Okay don’t go all Yoda on me. Maybe I’ll go first. I’d want to get this out”
Elwy shifted a little in his seat, noticing how Kurt wouldn’t lift his eyes from the cup in front of him. When he finally did, they were speckled with something akin to worry, but not quite.
“Blaine knows” he said matter-of-factly, tipping his head to the side a little. Elwy’s brow contracted
“Knows what”
“Blaine Knows. You know…the thing” he put extra emphasis on the word and suddenly he got it. Elwy’s eyes went wide
“Oh. Oh. The thing”
“Yeah the thing”
“How?” all of a sudden Elwy understood the urgency of his texts. What he couldn’t quite fit together was the fact they he was sat in front of him so calm and collected. Usually if something like this had happened, he’d be flying off the hook, complete panic mode activated. Elwy tended to liken him to a pissed threepio when he got upset. A la Chewbacca screwing his head on backwards.
“He came over yesterday, last minute. The conversation got…deep. My stomach decided to do a number and he ended up making me soup. Then he left, all off and sad and we haven’t spoken all day and you know how I over think things. I want to be there for him, it must have taken guts to tell me what he did and there I go to rain on his parade-“
“Hey, don’t think like that” Elwy reassured him, heart beginning to do those tiny little jolts it tended to do when he was feeling guilty about something. He should have noticed something was up, but truth was he’d been so worked up about Lily and school that it had completely slipped his radar. Way to go, idiot. “You can’t compare your suffering to his. It was his choice to tell you that, you shouldn’t feel bad for how you reacted. Unless you were a douche about it, which I’m really hoping you weren’t” Kurt rolled his eyes and lifted the cup to his lips.
“If douche constitutes completely wrecking a milestone moment in our relationship then yes I was.”
Elwy wasn’t one to push, he was too laid back for that, but he’d gotten the feeling that when Kurt had asked him here it hadn’t been to discuss him and Blaine. He was dubious of the fact that he was trying to swerve around the topic and as much as the event had to do with Blaine, Elwy was more interested in how it had even come to be.
“Why didn’t you tell me Kurt?” he asked quietly, not taking his eyes from the rim of his coffee cup. There was a few beats of silence, the sound of Kurt trying to speak before closing his mouth.
“You have enough on your plate, with…Lily, and I didn’t want to overload you. I mean I figured this week was something about that but I didn’t want to push. So I just kind of…let things be” Elwy’s eyes flicked up
“You mean you let yourself go? Is that what you mean? Have I done this? Did I make this happen” the worry had hit him abruptly, sending a spike of something like adrenaline through his body. He sat up a little straighter, picturing the lines on his forehead. Nervously, he pushed his glasses a little further up his nose.
“No, no Elwy no it’s…no it’s not like that. Things were bad before that. For quite a while actually”
“What do you mean by ‘a while’?”
“Maybe…a few weeks. It started just before you got here. I just hadn’t done anything until maybe a couple weeks ago”
“And Blaine…”
“He didn’t have a clue, or at least I thought he didn’t. He must have had suspicions because when he asked me about it he sounded like he’d known for a while” Elwy watching him blow lightly over the top of his coffee, disturbing the froth he’d not yet consumed.
“I don’t want to pry or anything I mean it’s between you and him but…what exactly did he tell you?” Kurt seemed to battle with himself for a moment, eyebrows twitching slightly as he thought. Honestly he didn’t even care what the guy had said, he just wanted to know whether Blaine was any cause of this and if he was…well he had a Welshman on his tail, and that was never a good thing.
“It was just some…stuff, about his past. Why he was at Dalton. He’s had it bad Elwy and I mean bad”
“Well so have you” he replied defensively. He was starting to get the sense that maybe Blaine did have a foot in the door with this.
“No Elwy I haven’t. Not like this. What I dealt with – deal with – it’s much simpler than what he went through. Think emotional manipulation El, he was confused and someone took advantage of that. He was vulnerable and someone actually thought it would be a good idea to egg him on and” he cut off suddenly, eye’s darting to Elwy’s, panic stricken
“Kurt what”
“Nothing. I mean no…he just, had It bad okay” Kurt shuffled his legs, crossing one of the other and scratching awkwardly at the back of his neck.
“Okay…but I don’t see how this makes anything better”
“I just mean…Blaine wanted to tell me that, he trusted me with something really big and I screwed it up”
Elwy wanted to scream, to yell at Kurt that that didn’t matter; that Blaine was just a tiny thing on the spectrum of things. But he knew that wasn’t true. Blaine was the biggest thing in his life right now, and to criticise that would be just like punching him in the face and as much as he resented the restriction, he really needed Kurt right now. So instead he just said “are you sure you’re okay with him knowing? I know how much you freaked out when you told me”
“Well I wasn’t exactly planning on telling him but I feel…better actually. I feel like we’re more like equals now. It’s sort of a weight off my shoulders. Sometimes I feel like we’re going backwards. We know more about each other than some long term couples. It’s unnerving but at the same time, I know we’re on the same page. It’s sort of comforting.”
Elwy nodded in understanding, still doubtful of Kurt’s story. He seemed awfully chill for somebody who’d just let out their best kept secret and he couldn’t help but suspect there was something he didn’t know. Something Kurt wasn’t willing to tell him. Well, he’d just have to go to Blaine “but enough about me, what about you. Spill, I want to know what was up this week.” Kurt slapped on his patent Hummel eyebrow and wrapped his finger possessively around the now half empty coffee cup in front of him.
“I don’t know….I guess I just started thinking about Dyl and then the comparisons popped in”
“Do you know what the exact situation is? Sometimes not knowing can be worse. And if she’s not willing to tell you, you have to make her. You deserve to know. It’s all well and good for her, she won’t be here. It’s worse for the ones who are left behind” Elwy narrowed his eyes a little slightly taken aback at the bluntness of Kurt’s words.
“That’s not fair. We get to keep living, she doesn’t. That enough for one person to deal with”
“That’s only true if you make yourself keep living. You could easily stop and it wouldn’t be that you’re not alive you just wouldn’t be you anymore. Trust me; dad did exactly the same after my mom died. He just became this…zombie. I didn’t know what to do most days”
“People grieve Kurt, and if the way they do that is by shutting off the world then I’ll accept that. After Dyl…well I had my parents, I had you. We all had it in common. With Lily…I don’t even know if I’ll get home in time.”
“We’ll get you home, don’t worry about that”
“Yeah well I do” his tone had taken on a bitter quality, prompted by the irrational side of his brain acting up again.
“Hey, don’t get pissy with me. I’m on your side, remember?” Kurt snapped back, finishing off the remaining coffee in his cup. Elwy took a deep breath and rubbed a hand over his face
“I’m sorry” he said tiredly “it’s just a lot okay” he felt Kurt nudge his foot under the table and looked up to meet his soft gaze.
“I know, but I’m here okay? Last time we were on our own, we didn’t have anyone at our backs. This time Blaine has mine and I have yours.”
“But what about him?”
“Blaine is…resilient. He understands what you’re going through” He smiled reassuringly over at him, reaching to pat his hand “I’m sure he’ll be fine”
Somehow, Elwy couldn’t quite believe that statement over the grasping hope in Kurt’s tone.
Blaine was slowly beginning to tire of the inside of his room. He’d been stuck in it all day and something about how claustrophobic he felt was beginning to take its toll. He paced, he sat, he played, he wrote.
He relapsed.
A resounding bang rang through the house and he stopped in the middle of a sentence, pen hovering over his latest English assignment. Carefully, he stepped over to the door and peaked out, listening for any sound of life. When he came back with nothing he threw the pen over to his bed and made his way downstairs. His fingers tugged at the hems of his sleeves, a hand running up to rub at his forearm. He reached the kitchen without comment and relaxed instantly. The house empty for the first time all week, it was a marvel. He set about making some dinner, a bit early for him but he would have gone without until his parents disappeared to bed anyway so it wasn’t such a bad thing.
And then the doorbell rang.
His brows knitted together as he approached the door, and taking a look through the peep hole it disappeared in favour of a fully fledged ear to ear grin. He had a second of confusion as he considered how Kurt even knew where he lived before he pulled it open and only had time to get a gasped “Kurt!” out before he was pushed rather forcibly back into the house by Kurt’s lips. He would have tried to get some more words out, maybe a question but honestly he wasn’t going to complain when Kurt had his hands fixed firmly into the loose, curly hair at the back of his head. He kissed back with equal fervour, welcoming the distraction, and his tongue.
They stumbled their way to the lounge, not bothering to struggle up to his room. Blaine’s calves hit the sofa and he went tumbling back onto it. Kurt fell heavily on top of him, but he didn’t care. For the first time all week he felt sure of something and that was brought on by Kurt’s presence, his smell, his feel, his taste. He pulled back to draw breath and Blaine took his chance, but Kurt had the same idea
“Hi”
“Hey”
They both giggled, Kurt pressing his face into Blaine’s chest “let’s try that again shall we?” he said, biting his lip “Hello Blaine, how are you”
“Much better now you’re here” and wasn’t that the truth “how is my wonderful boyfriend doing?”
“Better.” he said before diving back in for another kiss. They lay like that for a while, kisses slowing and then speeding up. They would break, exchange lazy smiles before getting caught up in it again. A clatter shocked them back to themselves and Blaine cursed. He manoeuvred himself from beneath Kurt and rushed to the kitchen, grimacing at the burnt remains of some noodles he’d been cooking. The lid had gone flying off to make the noise, and the water had boiled over. He heard Kurt’s footsteps behind him as he tipped the mess into the sink.
“This is…quite the house you have Blaine”
“It’s…yeah; if it was my choice we wouldn’t have all the spare rooms. I really don’t see the point.”
“I mean I figured you guys were comfortable, with Dalton and everything but phew”
“Yeah well we can only afford this because my parents are never here” he said, a touch bitter. Kurt must surely be able to tell he wasn’t comfortable with this lifestyle.
“Hey no that’s not what I meant” Blaine felt fingers on his hips and he turned to meet Kurt’s eyes. “I know you don’t like it and it must be hell to have to put up with but it gives you opportunity Blaine, much more than I have” Blaine shrugged and turned back to scrub the burnt pasta off the bottom of the pan. Kurt’s hand traced tentatively up to his waist and then over to his forearm. He stopped moving out of habit and let Kurt push his sleeve up to his elbow. He didn’t stop him, there was no point. He wasn’t going to lie to Kurt. He heard the small intake of breath as the white cotton came into view and closed his eyes as Kurt ran a finger across the edge of the bandage.
“How bad is it?” he whispered
“Not bad. Nothing worse than usual. I just didn’t want to…it’s hard to do discreet washing when my parent’s are home” he went back to scrubbing at the pan until Kurt’s arms encircled him and took the items from his hand. Then he turned him and wrapped his arms tightly around his neck. Blaine let the hug happen, digging his nose into Kurt’s neck
“I’m so sorry” Kurt mumbled into his shoulder
Blaine pulled back, confused
“No Kurt this isn’t...This wasn’t you, this was me being stupid. Honestly” Kurt arched an eyebrow, pouting a little. Blaine would have felt guilty if the expression wasn’t so damn cute “you’re adorable you know that?” he said, smiling a little. Kurt hit his arms and rearranged his features into something a little more serious
“Shut up, this isn’t a joke-“
“I wasn’t joking-“
“Blaine. Listen to me” Blaine closed his mouth and nodded, more than a little bit scared of Kurt’s fiery gaze. He watched as his eyes softened, his head tipped slightly to the right. He’d not taken his hands from around his neck and Blaine’s were still placed lightly on his hips. They way they were stood. Blaine backed up against the edge of the sink, it felt…right. Comfortable. “Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked, sounding as if he’d just watch a puppy killed in front of his eyes. Blaine opened his mouth to speak and then closed it again “please?” Kurt prompted. Blaine looked away, thoughts buzzing around his head like a swarm of angry bees. Finally, he gave up the attempt at ordering his thoughts and pulled Kurt back into the living room, abandoning the wreckage of a pan in the sink to clean up later.
Kurt sat slowly, eyeing him warily. Blaine leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to his lips in an attempt to rid him of the expression. It didn’t.
He took a deep breath.
“Look, after yesterday…I didn’t want to bother you, but it wasn’t because I didn’t think you could handle it, it was because there was a lot of stuff about it that would take a lot of explanation and to be honest I didn’t have the time to explain it.” he explained. Kurt sucked his bottom lip into his mouth
“Okay” he said after a few moments.
“Okay?” Blaine replied uncertainly. Kurt nodded.
“Yeah. I’m…I think I’m okay with that. Just, can you tell me next time? Or at least text me?” Blaine sighed and smiled
“Only if you promise to do the same” Kurt surged forward to seal their deal with a kiss. Blaine didn’t object and soon enough he was laid out underneath Kurt, relishing in the heat of his body hovering along his.
“Damn noodles, I was really getting somewhere before” Kurt gasped between kisses. It didn’t matter how many times they kissed, Blaine never got over the feeling. Everything about their relationship was backwards he knew, the hard stuff coming before the easy, and half the time he didn’t even know where they stood. As far as milestones were concerned, they were getting them all messed up.
He continued to kiss Kurt, running his hands softly along his sides until Kurt let out a tiny little whimper that took the breath straight from his lungs. He pulled away ruefully, gasping in oxygen.
“Sorry” Kurt whispered, lips open and kiss swollen. Blaine shook his head.
“No, I liked it” Kurt blushed, smiling slightly. Then Blaine felt his hand at his waist, fiddling with the edge of his shirt. He looked to Blaine for confirmation and as soon as he gave it, Kurt let his hand creep upwards, sliding smoothly along the skin of his stomach, making his shiver. He made a sound of approval when Kurt ran his finger over a nipple, lingering there as he leant down again to kiss him. Blaine’s hands hovered over his back for a moment before mimicking Kurt with his own shirt. Kurt nodded, not taking his lips from Blaine’s. Blaine didn’t wait a second longer, tugging the shirt from his jeans and running warm fingers along his smooth skin, marvelling at the variations of soft and toned.
Kurt’s tongue and his fingers and his skin was enough to fuel the already growing erection he was trying to keep hidden. He didn’t want to do the same thing he had last time. Or at least he didn’t until Kurt’s crotch brushed up against his leg and he let out a strangled little moan which had Blaine’s hips bucking upwards. They both apologised swiftly but after observing the way each others eyes glowed with lust, pupils dilated, they fell back into each other, grasping hard, moving faster, kissing deeper.
They were so caught up in each other however, that Blaine didn’t ear the door open and close, unaware of company until a yelp followed by an extremely awkward muffled laugh rang through the room. He gasped, pulling Kurt off him instantly and pressing a finger to his lips.
“Hello?” he called
“Erm hi Blainers, umm, I just wanted to pick up some stuff I left and I noticed dad’s car wasn’t in the drive but I can see you’re busy so I’ll just-“
“No cooper wait” he could have died, right there in that second. Kurt had a fist pressed to his mouth, trying not to laugh while Blaine shifted, tucking his polo back into his jeans and motioning for Kurt to do the same. When they both looked a little more decent he stood and called Cooper in. He hobbled into sight covering his eyes. Blaine sighed “Cooper you can look, we’re not like, naked” He moved his fingers ever so slightly and then let his hand drop.
Adorable you know that
“You guys should put something on the door seriously”
“Well this was…unexpected.” Blaine explained awkwardly “dad was supposed to be home all day. What was it you needed?”
“I left some stuff in the laundry and a pair of shoes upstairs. I’ll just…go and get them”
Blaine sighed deeply, pressing his fingers into his eyes. Kurt giggled behind him and he almost turned to scold him.
“That was the single most embarrassing moment of my life” he breathed, turning back with his hands covering his face. A peek between his fingers showed an ashen looking Kurt rubbing his temple. He dropped down onto the sofa instantly, touching a hand to his arm “hey, you okay?” Kurt nodded
“Headache”
“Have you-”
“Yes, Elwy made sure I did”
“He knows I know?” he asked in surprise. Kurt nodded again. Blaine waited for a further explanation “did you guys make up?”
“Yeah, I explained all about me and he explained all about him. Everything’s out now”
“And does it feel better?”
“Much”
“Good” he pressed a quick kiss to Kurt’s lips “I’m glad-Kurt!” Kurt had taken his chance and wrapped his arms around Blaine’s back and pulled him back down on top of him. He resisted only for a few seconds before giving into it. Besides; Kurt was running his fingers softly along the hairline of the back of his neck and it was sending goose bumps across his body “you’re terrible” he managed between kisses before Kurt had possession of his mouth again, apparently not even needing to come up for breath. This wasn’t just the usual make out kissing; this was hot and messy. For them at least. This was the kind of kissing that set his nerves alight and sent heat sparking tiny fires through his veins. This was sex kissing.
Blaine should really pull back, cool off, Cooper was only just upstairs after all. But Kurt was making those little breathy sounds and caressing the skin at the back of his neck and he couldn’t resist, entangling his own hands in Kurt’s hair, not caring about how he may be scolded when they stopped. It was soft and fragrant and so Kurt. He shifted slightly, hitching his leg a bit until Kurt gasped at the contact of Blaine’s thigh between his legs. He stopped and Kurt gazed awestruck up at Blaine, lips red and swollen, eyes alight with arousal.
“I’m going guys, bye!” Cooper called. Blaine pushed himself up but the door slammed and he let his head fall to Kurt’s now heaving chest
“He’s worse than my dad” Kurt whispered and Blaine giggled, actually giggled, because he was in his house, his brother had been just rooms away, and he had been making out heatedly with his boyfriend and he really…couldn’t care less. Kurt ran a finger up Blaine’s side again and he gasped, flinching a little at a ticklish spot. Kurt arched an eyebrow and ran over the spot again. Blaine whined, swatting him off
“Stop, Kurt no!” but it seemed there wasn’t any escaping it because Kurt’s fingers were suddenly wriggling all over his torso “Kuuuuuuurt! He whined, squirming away
“Kiss me then!” Kurt laughed and Blaine groaned before shifting up to kiss him again, smiling into it like an idiot.
“I hate you” he said, slapping Kurt on the arm. Kurt just chuckled, gripping his hip a little harder.
There was a thump behind him and Blaine groaned again out loud
“Cooper seriously could you be more of a cock-oh” he’d turned, not to see his brother but-
His father
And he was lying on top of his boyfriend, dishevelled and half hard.
In their living room.
His stomach dropped at the fire in the man’s eyes.
“Dad-what are you-” he said pushing himself up, straightening his clothes, disregarding Kurt’s tug on his arm. “I thought…I didn’t think you’d be-”
“Who’s this?” he asked, all cool and collected. Blaine swallowed.
“This is Kurt; he’s a…erm a Friend”
“A friend huh? Is that what friends do with each other nowadays?” Blaine was trembling, even with Kurt’s steady hand on his back
“I’m sorry sir” Kurt said quietly from beside him. Blaine didn’t remember him standing but a quick glance sideways showed him that Kurt was stood tall and steady. Almost comforting. “We didn’t think anyone was home” his father flinched, as if Kurt’s words physically hurt him.
“Get him out of my house Blaine, now”
“Dad please, I didn’t-“
“Get that fag out of my house Blaine Anderson, now!” his voice was rising and Blaine was suddenly more afraid for Kurt than he was for himself. He felt his boyfriend flinch next to him, from the volume of his father’s voice or the name he didn’t know but one thing was for sure, he wasn’t going to let his father hurt Kurt.
“Come on Kurt” he grabbed his wrist and pulled him towards the door
“Blaine what-”
“Kurt please, just go. I don’t want him to…I’ll text you, please. Just do this. I’ll explain later” he opened the door and, checking they were out of site, pecked him once on the cheek before pushing him out of the door and closing it behind him. Then he turned to face his father’s wrath.
Kurt stumbled down the steps outside Blaine’s house, mind a whir. What had that been about? He knew Blaine’s parents weren’t the best but…
He turned, half considering going back up and demanding to speak to him but in fear of making things worse he shook his head and made his way to his car.
A few more moments of hesitation however, and he might had heard the loud thud that came from the other side of the oak front door.
