"Your in the boys dormitory in the Kinglet house we'll have someone escort you around, don't worry. I know it's a big school, I thought the same when I first attended, but when I attended it wasn't as bi- Oh! Mr. Anderson, perfect. Kurt this is your guide- and student leader of the Kinglet house- this is Mr. Blaine Anderson, Blaine this is Mr. Kurt Hummel the new transfer." Principal Carlton, a forty-two year old man (which Kurt was surprised to hear he was forty-two because he looks not a day older than twenty-nine) with light brown hair that was neatly combed back and had shiny gray eyes, rambled on but when Blaine Anderson walked in he stopped talking for the good thirty-five minutes Kurt had been in his office.
Kurt looked up at Blaine and his jaw almost dropped wide open, but he had to fight to keep it closed. Blaine had beautiful hazel eyes and a smile that could possibly kill someone in Kurt's opinion, his dark brown hair was neatly gelled down and damn did those black skinny jeans fit him well. "H-Hi." Kurt stuttered.
Blaine's smile grew a bit wider as he held out his hand to Kurt. "It's nice to meet you, Kurt."
"It's nice to meet you too, Blaine." Kurt gladly took his hand and shook it, Blaine giving his soft hand a squeeze before pulling it away.
"Now before I let you two go off and explore the school, Kurt do you have all your papers? Class schedule, consoling schedule, and everything else I gave you?" Principal Carlton asked.
Kurt nodded, tapping his Marc Jacobs Army General Canvas Bag. "Its all in here, sir, thank you for all the help. It was nice meeting you," Kurt stood, shaking Carlton's hand before Blaine took Kurt's hand (causing Kurt's breath to get caught in his throat and blush faintly) and led him out the office and out the Main Building.
Once the two were far away from the Main Building, Kurt glanced over at Blaine from the corner of his eye, his cheeks still faintly pink at the fact that they were still holding hands. "So, er, is Principal Carlton always so-"
"Talkative? Then yes, you'll get used to it after a while," Blaine said. "Anyways, I was thinking since it's a bit after noon already and it'll be getting dark in a few hours, that I'll show you the Kinglet house, give you a tour around the house, introduce you to everyone, help you unpack, and then tomorrow I could show you around the school. What do you think?"
Kurt nodded. "Sounds like a plan."
"Great," Blaine smiled, pulling Kurt with him down a rather large hill where down it there was a small path leading into the forest. "Now, Kurt, if you don't mind me asking… Why'd you transfer?"
Kurt tugged on his collar uncomfortably. "Uh, well, my old school there… there was this guy, who, uh, well he was always harassing me…" He began, frowning at the memories. "I'd rather not talk about it, I want to start new, and I certainly don't want people to be all sympathetic."
Blaine nodded slowly. "I understand."
Switching topics, Blaine told Kurt a little bit about the school, what kind of programs they had, the history of the school, and told him about the three other houses. Kurt listened to Blaine talk, keeping a small smile across his face as the other boy talked. Kurt had no idea what he was thinking, it was his first day here and he had just met Blaine and he was already developing a small crush on the new boy. He pushed his feelings to the side for several minutes, glancing around the forest they were walking in. He wanted to ask Blaine why exactly they were walking through a forest but decided not to when they approached a rather large house. The house was a wooden one, which blended in perfectly with the trees, it had a large porch with a swing chair hanging from the ceiling. There was a pure white door (how they maintained to keep it perfectly white was a mystery), and the house seemed to be either four or five floors. Blaine led him to the front porch, pulling a key out of his pocket to unlock the door while Kurt glanced around the front porch. He notice, right over the door, the words Kinglet was engraved onto the wood. Blaine opened the door, smiling over at Kurt. "Welcome home."
He ushered Kurt inside the house, closing the door behind him. Kurt stared at the inside of the house in awe. There was a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the center of the room, a little further down there was a large staircase that led up to the second floor where, Blaine said, some of the dorm rooms where. On the right there was two large cherry brown doors with golden doorknobs.
"That's the living room," Blaine mumbled in his ear, sending a shiver down Kurt's back. The blue eyed boy pointed to the closed room on the left side. "that's the library, yes, we have our own library. Kinglet students are big readers, I know you won't believe it when you meet everyone here, but they all love books."
Kurt chuckled softly.
"Let me show you around, yeah?"
Kurt nodded slowly as Blaine took his hand again and lead him through the cherry brown doors where two boys, one blonde and one brunette, were sitting on the ground whispering to each other. Blaine raised a brow and glanced over at the large piece of paper in front of the two boys. The blonde one quickly covered the paper with the pillow he was leaning against and smiled innocently. "Yes Blaine?"
"What are you two up to this time?" Blaine asked in amusement.
"We're not up to anything, what are you up to?" The brunette grinned, looking over at Kurt then at Blaine repeatedly.
"Blaine, you didn't tell us you had a boyfriend- or that he was visiting!" The blonde quickly scrambled to his feet and extended his hand towards a blushing Kurt. "I'm Jeff Sterling."
"I'm Nick Duval." The brunette shot up, standing next to Jeff.
Kurt shook both of their hands. "I'm Kurt Hummel, new transfer here- and Blaine's friend."
"You mean boyfriend, right?" Nick said, leaning against the back of the couch.
"We're just friends, Nick," Blaine said, giving the two a glare before giving Kurt an apologetic look. "Don't mind them…"
Jeff rolled his eyes. "Yes don't mind us, we're just a piece of furniture Blaine likes stepping on!"
Blaine's mouth dropped open. "That was one time!"
"It still hurt!" Jeff shouted.
Blaine rolled his eyes, squeezing Kurt's hand. "Come on, Kurt. Let's leave these two to whatever they were doing," He led Kurt across the living room to an opening on the other side where a kitchen laid. "And you two better not be planning any sort of revenge on the Roblyn house!" He called out as the two entered the kitchen.
The kitchen was fairly large, with wooden floors that matched the house perfectly along with the counter that was in the middle of the room. The walls were a light olive green, with tiles coming from under the cabinets and down to the counter. The counter was a cream color, with a black stove and the counter in the middle of the room had a wooden top, while underneath a silver and black oven sat surrounded by white draws, at the end of the counter there was a brown and cream stool sitting there. On the far right hand there was a large window where a black table was placed with black matching chairs and cream colored cushions on top of the seat.
Kurt looked around the kitchen in awe. "Its beautiful."
Blaine shrugged. "Its alright, hardly goes into use though. We usually eat down at the school, sometimes we'll cook, but, to be honest, us Kinglets aren't really good cooks- Especially Nick and Jeff, they'd probably burn the whole house down if we let them cook."
"Well, luckily for all of you I happen to be an excellent cook so no more eating the school's food." Kurt smiled.
Blaine smiled back. "Come on, let me show you your dorm. You'll be sharing with Thad Harwood," he began, leading Kurt out of the kitchen, to the front room, and up the stairs to the third floor. "now I must warn you, Thad tends to be quiet most of the time, always reading books and what not- like I said, Kinglets love reading- but once you get to know him he's really cool."
Kurt nodded as they reached the third floor and the gelled hair boy led him down the hallway to the fourth door on the left. Blaine opened the door slowly. "Thad?"
A boy with brown hair, light brown eyes, and light-tanish skin looked up from a book he was reading. "Hey Blaine-" His eyes lingered over to Kurt who was standing besides Blaine. "Who's this?"
"This is your new roommate, Kurt this is Thad, Thad this is Kurt." Blaine introduced.
Thad placed a bookmark in his book and tossed it on the nightstand, standing up, extending his hand. "Nice to meet you Kurt."
Kurt took his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you too."
"Your bags are there by your bed, want me to help you unpack?" Blaine pointed out a few luggage cases by an empty bed on the other side of the room.
"Sur-"
"I don't mean to interrupt, but Blaine, Cooper needs to see you, he said it was important, if you want Kurt I can help you out until Blaine gets back." Thad said, shoving his hands into his pocket.
"Oh, er, Kurt you don't mind do you?"
Kurt shook his head. "Not at all, I'll see you when you're done, yeah?"
Blaine nodded. "Of course," he looked over at Thad. "Do you know where he is?"
"Roblyn house with Mr. DeWyze." Thad said.
"Alright thanks, see you two soon." With that he turned on his heel and left the room.
Kurt glanced around the room, taking in where he was going to be living for the rest of his high schools years. He looked at Thad, who was still standing quietly looking at him, he noticed a cast wrapped around his foot. "What happened?"
"What, this?" He gestured over to his foot. "Roblyn students did this about a week ago."
Kurt's frown deepened. "What'd they do that for?"
"They don't really like us Kinglet students, and they wanted one of the best parkour players on the Kinglet team, me, hurt so they could win so… They did this." Thad shrugged. "Its fine, it don't really bother me. Let's get started on getting you unpacked, shall we?"
Kurt nodded. "Good idea."
----
It was night time by the time Kurt and Thad finished unpacking, and Kurt had met all the boys and girls from the Kinglet house. It was about eight and the Kinglet students, along with Cooper, Blaine's older brother and the teacher leader of the Kinglet house, were walking down the main grounds to go to the lake where every Friday night the school would hold a movie night for all students. They got to the lake which was packed with students in Kurt's amazement, there would tons of students laying on blankets, sitting on lounge chairs, beach chairs, etc. waiting for the movie to begin.
Wes Montgomery and David Thompson, two of the members of the Kinglet house, found an empty space and threw their blanket down as the rest of the Kinglet members placed the things they brought with them down on the grassy floor as took their seats. Wes and David shared a blanket and were whispering things over to Nick and Jeff who had shared a blanket as well. Cooper had brought a huge blanket for them to sit on, the older man threw himself onto it and laid flat down on his back and stared up at the stars while Blaine took a seat besides him, Kurt sitting next to Blaine, and Thad sitting next to him and two girls named Tina and Mercedes. As for the other Kinglet members, some sat behind them on their own blankets and others went off to find their friends from other houses to sit with.
Principal Carlton made an announcement telling them there were technical difficulties and that the movie would start soon so Kurt spent some time talking to Tina and Mercedes about the latest Vogue magazine when three girls appeared in front of their blanket.
"Hello Blaine and company, I see your house got a new student." A Latina girl grinned, crossing her arms looking down at them.
"Santana…" Blaine muttered. "Can we help you with something?"
"You can't, but maybe the new kid can," Santana smirked, her eyes lingering over to Kurt. "What's your name lady lips?"
Kurt frowned slightly at the nickname the Latina had given him. "Kurt, Kurt Hummel." He said quietly.
"Well, Kurt Hummel," said another girl with short blonde hair. "You shouldn't be spending your time with people like them."
Another girl with dark brown hair past her shoulders with bangs nodded in agreement. "Trust us Kurt, you don't want to spend your time with nobodies-"
"And liars," said the blonde, directly looking at Blaine who shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
"-like them, so, just because you seem to have very good fashion, and we like that about you, you have the opportunity to join us, be the best at this school."
Santana nodded. "So, if you want, and you should, stop by the gym when you can."
"Oh please, if anyone's a liar it's your kind!" David jumped in. "Kurt, trust us you don't want to be around such mean, cold, heartless people."
Santana ignored David and shoved him to the floor by his head. "Anyways, Kurt, we hope to see you soon." She winked at them and the group of eight girls, Kurt counted, turned on their heels and walked off.
Kurt looked down at his boots thinking about what the girls had just said, and what David had just said when he felt a hand go on his thigh, he looked up and saw Blaine looking at him, his hazel eyes sparking. "You're not gonna go see them are you?" Blaine asked.
Kurt shook his head slowly. "N-No."
Blaine nodded and took a deep, shaky breath. "Al…Alright." Blaine removed his hand from Kurt's thigh and the movie began playing, most of the students cheered and the grounds suddenly became quiet as the movie started playing on the big screen. Cooper seemed to have fallen asleep so Blaine kicked up his legs and rested them on his brother's back as he laid back on the blanket, pulling Kurt down with him. The blushing blue eyed boy rested his head on Blaine's shoulder as they quietly watched the movie, but Kurt wasn't paying any mind. It wouldn't hurt anyone to go to the gym tomorrow to meet them… Would it?
