Blaine followed Jeff into the club, past the bar, and into the back room where the party was already well underway. These people really didn’t waste any time. The dance floor was packed, and judging by the number of empty glasses already abandoned on the portable bar that was set up in the room just for them, people had gotten busy drinking in a hurry.

Blaine looked around the room. The lighting was dim, but flashing colored lights made it possible to see, and a slight sweaty stickiness hung about in the air. Blaine could feel the heat radiating off of the crowd as he watched the people on the dance floor, bouncing and gyrating to the thumping bass beat. Most people had found someone to grind up against, and the rest were simply dancing their way around the room, some clearly drunker than others. One man was simply running around in small circles off to the side, head bopping and arms waving to the beat. Blaine let out a small chuckle and shook his head.

Then he saw Kurt.

Blaine froze, his jaw falling open slightly. Kurt was wearing a rather tight fitting, deep purple button-down shirt that accentuated his biceps in a way that made Blaine’s mouth water, dark skinny jeans that made his ass look spectacular (although from what Blaine had seen that was not an uncommon occurrence), and a pair of black boots that hugged his calves deliciously. His hair had fallen out of its slicked back style from the show and was now gorgeously tousled and sticking slightly to his forehead. He was dancing across from Rachel, the female lead, and although he was not grinding on anyone, the way his hips were moving would have suggested otherwise. Blaine had never seen anyone move their hips like that, gyrating in fluid circles so that he was literally thrusting into the air. Blaine’s throat went dry.

“Uh...” he whined pathetically. Jeff turned to look at him.

“You okay, man? You look flushed.”

“I-I think I need a drink,” Blaine stuttered out as he bee-lined toward the bar.

“Vodka tonic, please,” he told the bartender. Within seconds he had his drink in hand and he took a hearty swig, wincing as the alcohol stung his parched throat. Maybe if he loosened up a little, he could talk to Kurt without stumbling over every other word. Before he knew it, his drink was gone and he was ordering another.

Three drinks later, Blaine was feeling pleasantly buzzed, but he had yet to leave the bar. He was a coward. He just sat there staring. He made a mental note that the alcohol did NOT make him less awkward and creepy. Quite the opposite. He had just spent the last hour leering at Kurt while he danced and chatted with his friends. Kurt spent most of his time with Rachel, who was constantly pulling him aside and whispering in his ear, something drunk and absurd if the way Kurt rolled his eyes was any indication. Kurt seemed quite inebriated himself, though, as he staggered back into the masses and laughed loudly at something one of his other friends had said. Blaine wasn’t even trying not to stare anymore.

Kurt removed himself from the crowd after a bit and sat down on one of the stools around the edge of the dance floor, running his hand through his hair and scanning the crowd hesitantly, eyes lingering on someone every once in a while before moving on. Blaine saw him make eye contact with Rachel, who jumped up and down excitedly and clapped her hands. Kurt rolled his eyes and yelled something to her, smirking at her drunkenness, and trying to brush it off when he almost fell off his stool in his own slightly wobbly state. Blaine though it was adorable the way he then tried to compose himself, straightening his shirt and lifting his hand to his hairline to sweep a few strands of hair out of his face, holding his head high and trying to keep his face casual as if nothing had happened. A small smile made its way onto Blaine’s face as he took another sip of his drink.

Kurt had resumed his observation of the crowd, eyes slowly making their way across the room. He took a deep breath and slumped as he exhaled in seeming frustration, and Blaine briefly wondered what Kurt was looking for, before Kurt’s eyes suddenly snapped to meet his own. Blaine froze.

He’d been caught staring. Shit. Blaine stopped breathing as his mind raced. What do I do? I should stop staring. Yes. That’s what I should do. Definitely. Just break eye contact, Blaine. He finally managed to avert his eyes, but he knew that he had taken too long to do so. He couldn’t help it. Those eyes were captivating, and after weeks of imagining what it would be like to look directly into them, he had felt himself glued to Kurt’s gaze. He spun in his chair and hunched over his drink. Maybe Kurt would ignore him. Maybe Blaine had exaggerated the whole thing in his head. Maybe Kurt didn’t even notice. Blaine had been so stupid to think that he could do this. Maybe he could slip out the door without anybody noticing...

“Hi.”

Blaine’s stomach practically dropped out of his ass at the sound of a light breathy voice in his ear. His head whipped around to see Kurt standing a foot away from him, leaning against the bar and gazing at him. Blaine couldn’t breathe. He knew he must look like a fool with his mouth hanging open and eyes wide as he look at Kurt’s face. Kurt Hummel, the man he’d been practically stalking for weeks, was now right in front of him, talking to him of his own accord, and Blaine could do nothing but sit there and gape. This was the whole reason he came and he was blowing it. After what was probably too long Blaine realized that he should say something. He swallowed, trying to wet his throat and remind the muscles how to move.

“H-hi, uh...hello, hi...” Smooth Blaine. Real smooth.

Kurt smirked a little and fixed him with an intense stare.

“Would you care to dance?” His voice was low and a little breathless, and that coupled with the look he was giving Blaine made Blaine’s brain short circuit.

“I...well, uh-I mean, I don’t...um-” Blaine was trying hard not to choke on his own tongue. Kurt laughed a little and motioned to the bartender, leaning over and giving him his order. The bartender returned a moment later with two shots, which he placed on the bar in front of them. Kurt grabbed his own and lifted it, prompting Blaine to do the same. Kurt clinked their shot glasses together and said, “Cheers,” before throwing his head back and downing his shot. Blaine hesitated for a moment, before following suit, wincing as the liquid burned on it’s way down his throat and swaying a bit in his chair. Without saying another word, Kurt grabbed his hand and began walking backwards, pulling Blaine up off of his stool and leading him toward the dance floor, all the while looking at blaine darkly through his eyelashes. Blaine followed dumbly.

When they reached the dance floor, Kurt tugged Blaine close so that their torsos collided, surprising Blaine into letting out a tight gasp. Kurt situated Blaine’s hands on his hips and slung his arms around Blaine’s neck. He slid one thigh between Blaine’s legs and began to dance slowly, rocking against Blaine with the same hip movements Blaine had been admiring earlier. Blaine stood, completely frozen, knowing he should do something but not being able to figure out what it was. Kurt was trying to get him to move, and when he didn’t, he leaned up and whispered low in Blaine’s ear.

“C’mon, dance with me.”

Blaine shuddered. In the back of his mind he knew this was not how he wanted their first encounter to go. He imagined deep conversation filled with honesty, laughter, and plenty of flirtatious looks exchanged between the two, and feeling that mutual spark that Blaine had spent so many days imagining. But, his head was fuzzy from the alcohol and he was half-hard just from being in such close proximity to Kurt, so when Kurt wound one arm around his waist and threaded the other into the dark curls on the back of his neck, Blaine couldn’t help but melt into Kurt, rocking in motion with Kurt’s hips and letting his eyelids flutter shut. He gripped tighter to Kurt’s hips and let his head fall to Kurt’s shoulder, turning his head to nuzzle lightly at the side of Kurt’s neck.

“Mmm...” Kurt hummed appreciatively as his fingers tightened in Blaine’s hair and his hips canted forward. Blaine could feel Kurt hard against his hip, and was sure that Kurt could feel how hard he was too, judging by the way Kurt maneuvered his thigh to keep brushing up between Blaine’s legs.

Blaine was completely lost in the sensation. His head was swimming pleasantly as they rocked against each other, surrounded by the insistent thump of the bass. Blaine breathed deeply against Kurt’s neck, drinking him in and enjoying the feel of Kurt’s skin against his lips as he slowly began to drag them over the bend where Kurt’s neck met his shoulder. Kurt’s breath stuttered in his ear and made Blaine shiver. The movement of their hips was becoming steadily more insistent, and Blaine became acutely aware of how hot it was. He could feel the heat radiating from Kurt’s skin and could taste the salty layer of sweat glistening against his lips. He felt his own shirt beginning to cling to his torso, and felt a drop of sweat slide down the side of his face and down onto his neck. He had to stifle a yelp as Kurt suddenly lapped up the bead of sweat and began sucking on the spot where it had just been.

“Hnnn...” Blaine’s hand flew up to hold Kurt there as he moaned quietly into his ear. Kurt continued sucking for a few moments before biting down suddenly into the flesh. Blaine gasped loudly and his hips shot forward, bringing their erections together roughly. Kurt gasped and wrenched his mouth away from Blaine’s neck.

“Um, do you...wanna go somewhere?” Kurt mumbled into Blaine’s jaw.

Oh god.

Somewhere deep down Blaine knew this was a bad idea. He knew that Kurt was drunk. He knew that he was drunk. He knew this could potentially ruin everything. He hadn’t even told Kurt his name. This was not the way this was supposed to go.

Somewhere, deep down, he knew that.

But with Kurt’s hips slotted against his, mouth against his jaw, and his head cloudy from the alcohol, he somehow found himself nodding and panting into Kurt’s ear.

“Yeah, yes- god yes.”
