"Kurt," Blaine murmured into his sleeping husband's ear. "Kurrrrrt!" He gently shook his shoulder with a sigh. Was he really going to have to play this game? "HUMAN ALARM CLOCK!" He shouted and jumped on top of the sleeping man. When Kurt opened his eyes he raised an eyebrow, "Good morning," he said in a fake snobby voice.
"Grrrrr," Kurt mumbled. He rolled over. "Blaine," he rubbed his eyes, "Are you dressed?"
"Yes, I made you breakfast in the kitchen," he kissed Kurt quickly. "No," he stopped Kurt from pulling the covers off, "You're still, well, after we crashed last night... And you know what happens when you aren't wearing anything in front of me."
"But Blaaainee, maybe we could..." Kurt pulled on Blaine's sweater vest and kissed him again. He pulled the shorter man on top of him and started kissing his neck.
"Kurrrrrt, we should eat breakfast first," Blaine jumped up and ran into the bathroom in their honeymoon suite.
"Where are you going?" Kurt stretched his arms with a yawn. Blaine came skipping out of the bathroom with his hands behind his back and a michevious look on his face. "Blaine, what..."
Kurt didn't have a chance to keep his confused look for long. Soon enough his face was twisted into a look of shock when Blaine screamed, "GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!" and tossed, McKinley high slushie style, a glass of water into Kurt's face. He took another glass from his back and dumped it onto Kurt's head.
"You did NOT just do that!" Kurt shook his head rapidly and water droplets hit Blaine.
"Hey, you're getting me wet!" Blaine exclaimed, purposely being a drama queen.
"Oh, I'll get you wet alright!" Kurt laughed and jumped out of his bed, throwing off the covers and ignoring Blaine's warning.
"Oooh, dirty Kurt," Blaine wrapped his hands around his husband's neck and pulled him close.
"What do you say," Kurt fingered the hem of Blaine's vest, "that we warm up breakfast in the oven, Mr. Hummel?"
Blaine lifted one of Kurt's legs so it was around his waist, causing Kurt to gasp. "Why, Mr. Hummel, that is a capital idea."
-
Both men were panting by the time they had stopped. "Kurt, wait up, seriously!"
It'd been two years since the boys had been married. It was their wedding anniversary. Blaine had decided not to go to college, getting a job as a professional photographer with just a few courses at a trade school, and Kurt had graduated the year before, working as an extra on Wicked.
"I still can't run as fast as you, even if I can walk all day now!" Blaine was leaning over and clutching his knees when Kurt finally stopped.
"Sorry, I just don't want to be late. You know how important this appointment is." Kurt's face was flushed.
"Honey, listen, it's okay. Rachel is going to be fine without us being there for a few seconds." Blaine kissed him gently.
"I know, but it's the first appointment and I want to see our baby," Kurt leaned into Blaine's shoulder.
"I know. Our son or daughter is going to be amazing, too. Anyways, Rachel needs time to have her personal appointment with the doctor," Blaine lifted his chin. "It's going to be okay, Kurt."
"I know," Kurt sighed and continued to stare at the ground.
"Ready?" Blaine held out his hand.
"You always know just what to say," Kurt sniffled and looked into Blaine's eyes. "I think I am," He said as he took Blaine's hand.
-
"Rachel you can do this," Kurt squeezed her hand as she screamed.
Blaine was mortified. He didn't know what to say. "Thank you, Rachel," was all he could say. The facial expressions on her face scared him. Kurt noticed and mouthed to him to go into the hall, Finn was holding her other hand.
"Just a bit more, honey, then we'll get this first one out," The nurse smiled up at Rachel who was too worried to nod.
About half an hour later, Blaine was welcomed back into the room. "Blaine, meet your son and daughter," Kurt smiled and handed Elizabeth Rose to Blaine, holding Alexander Brian for himself. Finn took pictures neither man had looked so happy in a very long time.
When they placed the boys back in their hospital cribs, Kurt rushed over and hugged Blaine. "I love you."
"I love you, too. I love the names we picked out," Blaine kissed him quickly and returned to see the babies sitting in their cribs, not stirring a bit.
"Me too," Kurt sighed. "I wish we could know which one of us is the father."
"I don't. We're both fathers," Blaine looked up and smiled.
Kurt nodded. "You're right. Oh, boy, what are they going to call us?"
"Well," Blaine breathed in deeply, "One of us can be Daddy or Dad when they get older... Father is too distant, though." He shuddered at the memory of his father forcing him to call him that.
"Yeah. What about Papa?" Kurt put a gentle, comforting hand on Blaine's shoulder and shrugged a suggestion.
"I like it. Which of us is which?" Blaine looked up at Kurt for just a second before looking back down at his children with a huge smile.
"I think you should be Daddy, Blaine," Kurt cocked his head and bent down enough to get into Blaine's view. "You're a good daddy. I can see it."
"Really? That's actually what I wanted..."Blaine laughed lightly with a tear in his eye.
"Then you can call me Papa!" Kurt hugged Blaine once again.
"They're so beautiful," Blaine said after a few moments of silence.
"Yes, they are," Kurt smiled back and took Blaine's hand.
"What if I do something wrong, Kurt? I don't want to end up like my dad. I don't want my kids to have to go through that," Blaine threw himself into Kurt's arms. "They're so perfect and I don't want to ruin that..."
"Blaine, it's okay. Shh, baby, it's okay. You're not going to mess up. You learned from what your Dad did, I know you did. You'd never hurt them," Kurt rubbed circles into Blaine's back. "It's okay. You're strong, Blaine. I love you. They love you. And I know you love them more than anything in the world already. Look," he pulled away a bit and gestured to one of the cribs, "Alex is awake and he's looking in our direction."
Blaine sniffled and giggled lightly. He put is head on Kurt's shoulder and wrapped his arm around his waist.
Kurt put his arm around Blaine's shoulder. "One day they're gonna get hurt and you will be the first one there to cuddle with them when they cry. They'll have nightmares and you'll hold them close. You'll cry when they start school and on the day that they become teenagers. You'll say they grew up too fast and you'll remember this day like it was yesterday. One day that little girl is going to come home with some boy or girl and you are going to think to yourself, ‘They'll never be good enough for my beautiful girl.' You'll scare the poor kid silly, but you'll do it because you love her. One day that little boy is going to bring home a girl or boy and maybe he won't treat them right. I can see you sitting there and scolding him for more than an hour on how to treat somebody right because you love him. Maybe they'll get mad at you, but you're going to be the best dad in the world. Okay?" Kurt squeezed Blaine's shoulder.
"I love you." Blaine looked up at Kurt with tears in his eyes. Kurt returned the smile. "Can I stay here tonight? I... I want to be with them."
"Blaine, you've been up since four this morning. You were the first one to get to the hospital room when Rachel's water broke. Are you sure you want to-"
"Yes. I have to be with them," Blaine gave Kurt a pleading look.
Kurt sighed. His boyfriend was so adorable and so persistant. It was irresistable. "Alright, but only if you let me stay with you."
"Kurt, you should sleep at home," He began to argue.
"No. I told you that you are already the best dad ever and I want to spend time here with that man, okay?"
"Okay," Blaine smiled and took out his camera and phone. He began taking pictures of the twins.
"Blaine, honey," Kurt laughed. "Relax for a bit. You'll get plenty of pictures. Let's go get some lunch in the Cafeteria."
"Kurt, I have to stay with them..." Blaine was hesitant to leave his kids.
"Blaine, they're still gonna be here when you get back."
"I know but when I was a kid my Dad wasn't around for me. I want to be around as much as possible to show them how much I care. I want to capture every memory of them. I don't want to miss anything. What if they get a tooth of something?"
"Blaine, they know," he smiled. "They're gonna know. You're going to be the best dad in all of the universe. But you can't do that until you eat. And they don't get teeth the day they're born, Blaine."
"Oh, right..." His voice trailed off.
"Come on, honey, let's go eat." Kurt motioned for Blaine to come with him.
Blaine started to get up, but he gave a regretful look back down at the cribs.
"Alright, let's just order in from the patient cafeteria," Kurt sat down next to him and picked up the patient phone and menu.
"Okay!" Blaine beamed, nearly jumping with joy.
Kurt grinned. Blaine was already a great husband. What a great Daddy he was going to be, too.
