Author's Notes: Ultimum Nomen is "Last Name" in Latin. Aequalitas is "equality" in Latin. Just a few things that might have a bit of significance. ;)

Emily Anderson wouldn't give the man who'd ruined so many of her years a chance to ruin any more of her son's.

"What are you doing here, Kevin?" She stalked over to the man and stood within three inches of his face. Their noses were nearly touching and the stentch of alcohol coming from the man's mouth nearly drowned her. "I said, what are you doing here Kevin?" She repeated with more force.

Blaine, watching his mother carefuly, shakily tried to step. "Blaine, no, you can't, your legs," Kurt pulled him back.

Blaine sighed. "But my mom, I don't, I don't want him to hurt her," tears were filling his eyes. Before Kurt could pull Blaine close, Blaine pulled Kurt to his chest. "I need to hold you right now, is that okay?"

Kurt smiled, "Yes. It's just fine. C'mere." He hugged Blaine's chest.

"I wish you weren't shorter than me," he whispered with a laugh. Kurt just responded with a bit of a sad smile. The smile quickly faded off of both boys' faces when they heard the sickening smack. Blaine instinctively shouted, "Mom !"

"No, Blaine, look," Kurt pulled away a bit to point to the end of the aisle. They both gasped. Emily Anderson was standing over Kevin, whose face was extremely red on one side as if it had just been slapped. In his drunkeness, a simple slap was all he needed to fall over.

"Never show up around here again, Kevin," Emily's teeth were clenched. "We don't need you anymore. Your son, Blaine, the one you abandoned? Remember him? Yeah, well, he's happy. So you need to lay off."

Kevin groaned. "This marriage isn't legal, an objection is only right." He stood and his face was curled into this ugly grin that made everyone attending the wedding  physically sick.

"Actually," the priest stepped down from his pulpit, "It is. You may forget, Kevin, that equal marriage rights were given in New York in 2011. Therefore, it's very much legal. Your objection is denied."

Kevins face flushed with embarrasment, "You're a priest. Isn't this against what you believe?"

"Kurt and Blaine have attended my church for months now. They've become very good friends of mine. You must understand that not all Christians interpret the Bible literally, such as Emily, here." The man patted Emily's shoulder, who smiled proudly and returned to her seat.

As Kevin's ugly smirk fell, both boys smiled at each other, remembering the first time they'd gone to church.

"Are you sure these people aren't going to judge us? We're two gay men walking into a church holding hands, Blaine," Kurt's stomach was flushed with nervousness.

Blaine smiled and squeezed Kurt's hand gently, "It's going to be fine. You look adorable. Church can be your reason to dress up." He smiled to himself, remembering walking by and seeing a rainbow flag in the window. That was a detail he could've told Kurt, but he wanted to surprise him. Besides, Kurt is positively adorable when he's nervous.

As they approached the steps of the church, Kurt gasped at the rainbow flag in the window. There were signs about equality plastered on the walls as they stepped in. "Feel like converting yet?" Blaine whispered in his ear jokingly.

When they entered the church, they were greeted by a man in his sixties. "Hello, my name is Robert Aequalita. That's a hard last name to pronounce, so most people just call me Pastor or Priest Robert. My partner, David, is up ahead. Oh, he's waving!" Both boys shared a smile and waved at the man, who appeared to be the same age as Robert.

"Blaine, how are you?" The man shouted.

Blaine responded, "I'm good, you?"

"I'm doing fine! I'll catch up with you later! Don't be flirting with my man," He jokingly snapped and began to greet other people.

"How do you know David?" Robert asked. Kurt noticed the twinkle in his eye.

"I was looking around the church when David came out and asked me if he could help me. I told him our situation," he gestured to Kurt, "and he convinced me to come to the church today."

"Yes, well," Robert grinned proudly, "David has a way with words. You'll notice, Blaine, that this church is very different than others. Is this your husband?" He looked at Kurt, who was standing, awestruck, at the fact that nintey percent of the couples in the church were same-sex.

"No," Blaine pulled Kurt closer to get his attention, "This is my boyfriend, Kurt. We grew up together. We were born on the same day at the same time and, I guess, it was just meant to be."

"Hello," Kurt's grin was broad and he was much less nervous. In a good way, this was much different than he expected.

Just before Robert could respond, David came behind him and snuck a kiss onto his cheek. "I know their story, love, and it is positively amazing. Can I tell you later?"

"You have to stop scaring me like that," he chuckled. "I'm getting too old for such young games. Actually, I'd much rather have Blaine and Kurt over for lunch. Would you boys mind that?"

Blaine looked at Kurt, who nodded eagerly. He giggled a bit. "Sure, thank you so much!"

Kurt's mind began to drift to memories of the best lunch he'd ever been involved in when there was a shout from across the room.

"Well, if this is happening, then that-that thing, is no longer my son! He can't take his prim-ass excuse for a partner's name!" He spat and stalked off.

Blaine tried not to cry, but Emily ran up and gave him a hug, which made him burst into sobs. She whispered something in his ear and Blaine nodded with a sad smile. "Okay, Mom," he whispered back.

Kurt stepped foreward. He'd been aside, letting the mother and son have their moment. "Are you ready, boys?" Robert smiled at both of them. David gave them a nod from the front row.

"Yes, I believe we are," Blaine brushed his nose with his hankerchief before returning it to his pocket and taking Kurt's hands.

"Well, then let's continue with the ceremony, shall we?" Kurt's eyes welled up with tears again at Robert's statement, amazed and proud of how strong his soon-to-be husband was. "By the power vested in me by the GREAT state of New York," he added the extra word and looked back and forth at the men in front of him, "I present you all Mr. Kurt-" Blaine jumped up and whispered something in the priest's ear, who nodded. Emily winked and Blaine and he returned it. "I present you all Mr. Kurt and Blaine Hummel!" Kurt gaped at Blaine, who nodded silently to let him know it was the right decision. "You may now kiss the groom, Blaine." The broad grins on the faces of everyone in the room were enough to make Blaine go insane. He nearly knocked Kurt over with his kiss. The camera flashes didn't phase both boys at all.

Since Blaine could barely walk, Kurt lifted him off the ground and ran him down the aisle, dancing at the same time. The wedding party followed, laughing and dancing, as well as the entire guests. Robert and David were left in the room alone.

"That was beautiful, sweetheart," David smiled, leaning down to kiss him.

"Thank you. But nothing could ever be as beautiful as you," Robert held out his hand.

David took it, giggling a bit. "Always the flirt."
